  • Best female voice @Motown. Hands down. Wanda sang soulful and no one else had her talent. Not Ms. Ross fir sure.

  • YT wont let me post it

    search the miracles after all

  • Hi, thanks for putting this up...greatly appreciated!

    Love this version.

    Link to the original below

  • GREAT!

  • Wanda owns this song.............she has the right voice and the Funk Brothers are kicking ass. Case closed

  • this version is way better !

  • i like the miracles version better. i just can't get into this one.

  • I love both versions but this is More Grown and Sexy type

  • Damn this is Classic!

  • This tune was the flipside of their hit, "Marionette" released on November 3, 1970-

  • @christheone8773 ....hit? By 1970, they were a B group.

  • @srercrcr Okay, so the word "hit" may have been a wrong word choice - they all disbanded by 1969, even though their singles were being released through January of 1971-

  • i love both the wanda's version and the supremes version for different reasons. supremes is more innocent and wanda's is more for the grown folks!

  • Actually a Wanda solo but eventually the album titled "Wanda Rogers" became "The Return of the Marvelettes." This is a wonderful performance, full of feeling and sensitivity and nuance. No wonder Smokey loved Wanda's talent.

  • damnn jay-z did not sample this trackk, kanye did FOR Jay-Z..

  • the Supemes version was the first and this was during the early sixties. By the time the Marvelettes got a hold to this song it was some years later when productions of songs got better and this song tailored for Wanda's voice with the Adantes singing background with the group. AND, the Supremes were young teens when they made that song so I enjoy hearing their innocense in their singing. This version of course is better.

  • Exactly. I prefer this grown and sexy version myself, lol.

  • Actually the Miracles and Claudette Robinson was the first

  • @Vincent50-No it wasn't the miracles version was first then the supremes did and later the marveletes.

  • I'm not used to hearing this one. I like it, but I am used to the Supremes' version which I LOVE LOVE LOVE.

  • Wanda is the best. 5*

  • She is, I wish she was still singing today.

  • This was the point when Motown had Wanda sing with the Andantes instead of the Marvelettes.

  • What LP is this from?

  • Return of The Marvelettes

  • THIS is the version Jay-Z sampled! :)

Love this version over the Supremes...

  • This is classic. Much better than The Supremes' version - despite Flo's powerful, strong start to the song, Mary's sweet lead and Barbara's great little part and Diana's cooing. The production is just a world apart =)

  • I agree 110%! :) LOL

  • It's like a new song altogether. The production on The Supremes' version sounds so stingy and disgusting compared to this carefully crafted classic. The vocals are real nice on this and Wanda sounds real smooth =P

  • I agree. I was disappointed when I heard the Supremes' original but I can't blame them, they were KIDS when they recorded it. But Wanda definitely took it to another level as did the Funk Brothers and Andantes here. Again, Motown had some of the BEST grooves!

  • It isn't the vocals of The Supremes that I dislike but the production

  • That's what I meant, lol. =P

  • LOL I knew that *coughs and rolls eyes*

  • Oh OK, lol. ;)

  • popppin tagggs

  • This is one of Wanda's best. The song "Forever" is a high quality song, but I like this one as well. Wanda, where ever you are, please let us know you are all right!

  • Wanda Rogers sounds great on this song and the version of this song sounds so great. I never heard this cut before. She takes it to another place. Too bad she didn't stick with performing after the Marvelettes split.

  • I have a another version of this song, which I think is better

  • ok, which version do you have?

  • @marvelette123 prob the supremes version, i think its the original

  • Eeeey!!! OMG! I can't believe I didn't stumble upon this faster!! This is great!! I LOVE IT!! Wanda is great!! I have to do a cover of this song!!! It's so soulful and passionate!!

  • Thanks Rodney.

  • No problem!! Wow! Really! This is great Stuff!! This is the first time that I've actually heard REAL SOUL from a (60s) Motown Girl Group!! Even though it's the Andantes in the background it's great!

  • This is the first time you've heard "real soul" from a Motown girl group? Really? What have you been listening to? Lol Anyway, this is a great cut. By far IMO the best version of this song.

  • LMAO! I wasn't exactly...thinking when I said that! My Bad!! LOL!

  • LOL Well it wouldn't be the first time someone said something like that. But this song is really great. What album is it on???

  • "Return of the Marvelettes"

  • OMG why didn't they give The Supremes this nice beat!!! =(

Sounds AWESOME. Wanda sounds so vulnerable

  • i was gonna say the same thing........the super duper supremes got cheated!!

  • THANK YOU!!!! someone has the right version

  • thanks! yes i ripped it straight of my LP!

  • wonderful, haunting and delivered impeccably as always by the distinctive Wanda Rogers

  • thanks,

puts shivers down my spine when she sings this.

  • Sure does, very haunting... Wanda was a unique vocalist...
