question: i am at the level with the tank when you get autoloader. how long does it take to get a guided missile lock system? do you have to be a 2 seater for that? or just a lone gunner?

@bruninie You can only lock onto ground vehicles for one (unless painted with a laser designator), and for the guided shell, you need to be the driver. Even then it all depends on if the enemy has Thermal Camo (something that increases lock time) or not. Usually it just takes 2-ish seconds without thermal camo.

@bruninie Two ways, really. One of the last tank unlocks is a CITV which allows for a third seat in the tank, the sole purpose of that position is to designate targets for guided shells. And then you have the SOFLAM on the Recon class, which is the same as the CITV station, except you can set it down and control it with a remote. If you want, you can set the SOFLAM somewhere strategic (Say, a high-up building) then run away and hide in your spawn to control it.

Only time it's useful is when your team is useless. You can rambo 400m shots and just get kills up. I usually get 4-5 400m kills in a bad game, and get a whole ton of knife/pistol kills the rest of the time. So yes, I agree, being a 400m sniper is useless if you want to win. It's more useful in rush though.

I am a Battlefield fan all the way but BF3 has let me down a bit, yes it's insanely awesome but I have only been in one chopper and that's the Russian Transport which take years to gain altitude and i'm struggling to fly them compared to all the others, especially on BC2 and since Machinima posted the video on skipping queues for jets by running your team mates over, all I get is twats in Jeeps trying to run me over and for that reason i've not been in a single Jet once
