Apple's done with the classic, they will abandon it the next generation of iPods, which is a same. It is a great ipod and not outdated by any means. I have the Video and i still use it as a portable video player for movies and stuff. My itouch cant even fit a movie on it because it will fill it up completely.

@Nopartyforme1 there are different types of music listeners. Some (like me) have many bands who they have the entire discography of. That means with 10-15 bands you can have almost 20 gigs of songs. Especially if they have been around a while and have 8 albums.
go into the settings menu, click brightness, and slide it up & down to where you want it. .... i usually have the brightness at about the halfway mark 50%or less, to keep the battery from dying too quickly.... Also, when you are in the process of playing a video, you can click the center button 3 times, and it will allow you to lower it there as well.
it happens alot when i use cheaper headphones when i use more expensive headphones the battery life doesnt die as quick...idk how it drains it but i notice when im on trips the battery is very low then usual

thats because u cant add all 300 songs at once it wont add them all add a little at a time on the ipod classic for it to count them all and make sure the mp3 files work or else convert them to m4a

Yes, to the first question. You can add your dvd to the players I'm selling easily. You will need a program called "Total Video COnverter" and you can get it for free off the internet with a little searching, or you can just download the trial software and just do all your converting in one month like I did,lol. ipod classic = up to 20,000 - 40,000 songs but no internet and apps + cheaper, more battery life

Ziggy, the free program to get in order to easily move movies onto your Ipod is "Handbrake". It will remove the embedded security labels and tranfer it to MP4 for easy transfer to your Ipod. I LOVE my black IPod Classic and I have shown it in some of my videos.

it was the firmware issue of the v1.0 firmware apple has fixed this problem already and ipods have been recalled and all ipods have been updated with the newer firmware and should not crash anymore ..

yes, you do see the indicator move down, however, it will also jump back up.
it just moves around like that.
i have the classic, and the battery life is pretty damn good.

that is true, the battery does die a lot faster when playing videos/games.
but this is true of all media players when playing videos.
one way to make it last somewhat longer is lower the screens brightness etc.

I have a few dollars I initially wanted an ipod touch but I want an 80gb Ipod Classic also. n those prices on ebay dont seem realistic. so which one would be a keeper?

ipod classic = up to 20,000 - 40,000 songs but no internet and apps + cheaper, more battery life
ipod touch = like an iphone but without camera and youll get to put less songs on very little storage but internet and apps
i suggest not to buy one off ebay go to an apple store or any other electronic store.
but if you listen to songs alot get the classic but you if like browsin the internet for youtube videos get the iphone. i would get the ipod classic tho

Ziggy, the free program to get in order to easily move movies onto your Ipod is "Handbrake". It will remove the embedded security labels and tranfer it to MP4 for easy transfer to your Ipod. I LOVE my black IPod Classic and I have shown it in some of my videos.

Question - can I sync the iPod Classic to both my iBook AND my iMac? This way all 3 of them can be synced? I have 10.25 GB of stuff not including my 2 days worth of streaming audio, and I'd like to be able to easily transfer all of that to my iBook from my iMac and I was wondering if this could be done.

the new ipods are nice but they hav longer loading times and tend to freeze up alot. the scroll wheel is not as fun as the old video ipod because it skips down too fast

ME 2 EXCEPT im getting the iPod TOUCH :) you shouldve gotten that it even has INTERNET! I bought a iPod nano in like March and i paid like 150$ and didn't like it! but the new video mkight be good considering i had the 2nd gen! but if youre getting a 80 gig u might not like the ipod touch seeming they only come in 8 and 16 gig probably cause of the Safari! Any ways i'll check bak at your videos on the 26th i cant wait to open mine!

The ipod classic for it's capacity and the touch for the internet but small capacity. I got the classic because the touch wouldn't cover my huge music library.

My BFF has a touch, but it doesnt have enough room, considering his videos/ music/ pix.

i have a question? overall which is better the ipod classic 80gb or the zune 80gb? i have owned an ipod 1st gen, an ipod mini and now own a 1st generation ipod nano. i want to upgrade to more memory but i like the zunes screen but love the ipods easy to use interface. so i am having trouble deciding any ideas? all advice helps!

it was the firmware issue of the v1.0 firmware apple has fixed this problem already and ipods have been recalled and all ipods have been updated with the newer firmware and should not crash anymore ..
