  • edgar winter tonight in santa cruz!!

  • @tmlfan1977 Edgar is playing Lewiston, NY in about 3 1/2 hours......

  • @ThePowerWithinMe I got to "hear" Edgar at the festival Saturday but couldn't get anywhere close to seeing him since the tent had a spillover crowd. I did get a great view of Johnny that day though as he played in another tent.

  • kicks fuckin' ass!!!

  • blues with a little scat singing to boot!

  • This song needs a qualifier to explain that you need to set your Volume Control to "Move The House" level before kicking it "Old School" with Edgar and Company.

  • I was a KID when i first heard The Winter Brothers and I LOVE THEM

I am 53 years old and I love the Music ----But where is JOHHNY?

  • frigging awesome......that guys talent isnt sitting inside a computer!!!!

  • Sorry 1:07

  • Pause it at 1:00 looks like he's trying to take a shit.

  • When i saw the sax on his hands, i thought "nooo, he wont play it, no way. too much talent for a single guy". this mother fucker not only played the sax, but also reduced it and my mind to shreds

  • My first concert, Savannah Ga, Edgar Winter Band, 38 years ago , they were great then and now.

  • @epreel Samuel L. Jackson,"English Mother F#*&er,do you speak it?"

  • i dont care if the guitar sounds to metal like somebody mention.kid is great!!!trying doing what his doing and in front of all that people without missing a note!! i am tired of blue natzis critisicing everybody that is different.they are great guitar players in every kind of music.if that guy is playing with Edgar is because is great!!

  • this version sounds as good as-if not-better than the "Roadwork" LP.....when it was Edgar Winters White Trash with his brother , Rick Derringer, Bobby Caldwell and a bunch of other top musicians...ROCK ON Edgar!!!!!!

  • i saw johnny at least 3 times, every chance we got we saw and listened to the Winters

  • Edgar is better than ever; he's been doing this for about 50 years.

  • To hear musicianship like this and Edgar is not inthe Rock and Roll Hall of fame, but Run DMC is! What the heck???

  • I talked to Edgar 1981 Va Beach, remember me edgar,I said "Edgar,my man and you squinted across the horseshoe bar"

I saw Johnny in a bar down thw street 2 weeks earlier or later I forget

  • High School memories

  • last time I saw Edgar ...he opened for Jethro Tull in August 2003..Big Flats NY......the musical genius of Tull is always present..even after Ian's voice got weak...but Edgar blew me away.....I hadn't seen him live in 15 years....and I got to speak to him after his set...he was signing autographs promoting the "Winter Blues" CD....AMAZING as he ever was

  • You have to hear his voice when he's younger. He could do so much more with it then.

  • Edgar is a Scientologist :-0 !!!

  • I saw Edgar on March 8th, 1984 (my 24th b-day) in a small bar in Nordeast Minneapolis called The Union. He was so wasted that when the session was over it took two roadies to lead him outta the bar. I fired up a number when he did "Tobacco Road"... Good times back in the day.

  • awsome.ty.

  • WOW greatesrt song ever made even better a simple song made so much much much more im amazed incredible this is why youtube is amazing i never could have a seen this with out it wow

  • I just jizzed in my pants....... OMFG I need to see these guys live!

  • where the fuck is the rest of it ???

  • to Dean Lisi -- I guess you must be young ("...the bit is way too long getting boring..."). Back when this song was originally recorded (Roadwork by Edgar Winter and the White Trash) it was 18 minutes long. It was not uncommon for songs (rock, metal, blues, prog) to go for 10 - 30 minutes. Everyone today wants 3 - 4 minutes, then switch gears. Must be ADD...

  • from 1:10-1:20 it sounds like jack black singing

  • jonny is better!!!!!

  • great player but yeah too metal... and the bit is way too long getting boring...

  • These dudes are like chameleons or something you would see at the zoo in the reptile house..Notice his eyes are closed that is because hes reptilian albino..When ever i see these dudes on interview its always dark with little a red or blue light in the background and their eyes are completely shut while their talking..It looks just like the reptile house..

  • i cant lie. those vocals in the beginning are impressive.

  • Nice volume work-no way you can keep up with Edgar-too bad-ass! He did!....kinda shred 'O matic for my liking! But Edgar is settin' the bar...so.

  • is he albino?

  • @Necroman666 Quite! they are some 'longevity Albino bro's' too...albinos have a myriad of health problems and poor eyesight...Edgar is one talented Ma-fa! His brother too!

  • @FingersPlainview he looks very, very creepy for me... nothing against him, I actualy find him sympathetic to me

  • Wow this brings back memory's. I remember the first time I heard Edger play blew my mind. Him and his bother Johnny are both amazing musicians.

  • The Winter brothers-great. Yet Rare Earth's version is the best....

  • Hulk Hogan plays the blues

  • Jerry Weems.......rip.

  • Say did Edgar play the guitar also?

  • how mediocre johnny winter and edgar winter look and sound today ....did NOT stand the test of time, sorry .............

  • @buchananstreet Both brothers came through Dallas this summer and sounded as grand as always. I saw them at Wood Stock when they were gettin started good and they sounded just as good. To me, they have....sorry

  • Awsome. White Trash Live was the best by far. Long Live the Winters. I have met them both and Johnny signed 4 lp's for me. Something I will always cherrish. Peace Imij.

  • @Jimiimij

    Awsome, it is!

  • The old dude still has the pipes.

  • Tremenda interpretación de esta clásica pieza por mi amigo Winter.

  • The Al Jarreau of bad wigs.

  • i saw johnny 5 times but never edger wish i saw both together

  • @dragontigerbull I saw them do the white trash tour at the akron rubber bowl for $3

  • Edgar should be a legend to all......bro Johnny too......one of the greatest american musicians of any style, any era..........a legend to me anyway he will remain

  • Fuckin true ralent this guy should be a household name

  • Ian Gillan in 70's inspired by Edgar Winter for sung the final scream in Strange Kind Of Woman.

  • @Luiginoy The whole trade off between Ritchie and Ian also.

  • edgar and johnny were awesome, and they know what the blues are all about

Texans know how to play the blues, them and zz top, and of cousre stevie ray

  • this..is FUCKING awesome! this is MUSIC!

  • @thrashcase yes

  • @thrashcase yes it is

  • @thrashcase yes it is FUCKING GREAT MUSIC

  • buena edgar..... nos vemos

  • I saw him live in NYC circa72 4 or 5 times and when he was with the EW group and in my opinion no one does this song better than Him...

  • GREAT! WHERE'S PART 2??? ;---sniff

  • whatever he plays, he DEFINITELY PLAYS GREAT!

His memory is pretty good too! that musical "Simon says" was unlike anything I've ever seen!

  • @QuiltedPine u do know that they practice this before a show so its just like remembering the song before the show...

  • Oh yes, obviously, I mean I have played shows too... But still, you can't play everything exactly the same way you rehearsed it, especially that singing-guitar riff tag they did.. and it shows in guitarsist's look on his face. Well that's what I think...

    It's amazing nontheless!

  • He's definitely an SG guy.

  • Eric Burdon does a great cover of this song as well.

  • I love him, I love, never die, i love forever!!!!!!!

  • Ohhh God, that was beutiful *-*

  • Stupid atheist! Who cares what they believe as long as they make great music! If you dont like a TV show, you can just change the channel, moron! Personally, if they are Jesus freaks, I now like them even better! And last I heard, it is still a free country!

  • That was great , thanks for posting !

  • i saw him last night n he was awesum!

  • That was going back old school! I love it!

  • Too much Seconal...The Winter bros really got the blues..and what about their friends?.. Rock and Roll masters..

  • Edgar and Johnny were my favorites for a long time growing up. Edgar is still amazing, Derringer can still play. Both of them are now Jesus freaks. Johnny Winter cannot play any more.

  • What's wrong with being a Jesus freak?

  • Can't tell if you're being facetious or not, but there certainly isn't enough room to explain here. Suffice it to say that talking about your love of Jesus (as Edgar does) in front of a large, paying crowd of fans (many of whom do not share your religious views) as well as incorporating Jesus into the lyrics of your classic songs (Derringer does this in RR Hootchie Coo) does not serve the music and may alienate some people. Separate music and your religion Edgar and Rick...

  • Well, Edgar, Rick, and I are all entitled to our beliefs and opinions. Just because someone else doesn't like it doesn't mean we have to stop saying it. Besides, if you don't like what these guys, or myself, are saying, then you could always stop listening.

  • Yes, you certainly are entitled to your silly beliefs, wah, wah, wah, blah, blah, blah. My point, Mr. Simple, is that Edgar and Rick might lose paying customers for their live shows (most of any touring musician's income these days) because we DON"T share those beliefs and came to hear their music, not their philosophy. So yes, we might stop listening because we paid for music, not a tithing to the church. Must I believe in order to love the music? Or worse, to be allowed to listen?...

  • Well then I guess that's just too bad for you. Some people can't handle the fact that even though music is a major part of their life, their religion is also. My point, Mr. Bee's wax, is that these performers also have other aspects of their lives to attend to. And if you don't believe in anything, just suck it up and move on. It's not like every single song is based on their beliefs.

  • Pardon me, Mr. Simpleton, but your "point" is worthless - and so is your opinion in this matter. People should keep their religious opinions to themselves - unless of course you're in church. A person paying to hear music should expect to be entertained, not proselytized to. So please, YOU suck it up and stop acting as if everybody should be expected to make exceptions when it comes to religion. Christ, I'm sick of you people and your useless beliefs.

  • Excuse me? You're the one who brought up the fact that they were Jesus freaks. If you would have kept those opinions TO YOURSELF, just as you said, this whole conversation (or argument) would never have been started. When you say "you people and your useless beliefs", I think it's useless for you to NOT follow a certain religion. But, once again, people just don't wanna hear it. Whatever...you shouldn't have brought it up.

  • Yup, I brought up the fact they were Jesus freaks - and then you you asked my opinion! (What's wrong with being a Jesus freak?) And I've been aswering you as requested. I've had enough of this stupid exchange - go preach to the fucking choir....I'm not going to pay to go to the Church of Edgar and Rick....

  • When you said they were "losing paying customers", they obviously didn't lose you, so therefore you must not know straight facts. If they did lose you, you wouldn't have watched this video. And apparently they haven't been losing ANY money in the past few years because they're still touring and producing new albums. So their religion is not an excuse.

  • Gee, what a fantastic display of logic. Too bad your conclusions were wrong. Please, all of you religious nuts stop writing me to apprise me of all of your rights - and your assumptions of facts not in evidence. Of course, evidence is a difficult word for believers to deal with...

  • How are my conclusions wrong? And yes, we do have evidence. You just don't believe it. Haven't you ever heard of faith? Faith doesn't always mean something is fake, it's a test. How do you explain miracles happening? Hmm? Don't tell me you think Earth was created by an explosion from NOTHING.

  • You must also think global warming is real...ha ha don't even get me started. Scientists are getting overly involved, that's why they are constantly coming up with ridiculous ideas that don't even make sense.

  • @beeroosterm Excuse me but it was your religious opinion that started this conversation and who was that you prayed to in the last line you wrote here?

  • This is listening to the true blues of the rocking roll groups of this era. It kicks ass!!!

  • Check out the video of him doing "Harlem Nocturn" with Leon Russell. Beyond brilliant!

  • ThanX for that info! Edgar is GREAT.

  • @Bopalena I will, thnx

  • It's amazing how this song has evolved over time (and how it didn't). People don't know that Edgar is almost blind. He such a great all around muscian., and one of the great scat singers of all time.

  • So Edgar Winter may have glaucoma??

  • @simpleusername11 I don't know about that, but albinos traditionally have poor eyesight due to having little pigment.Johnny's been near blind for ages.

  • He's perfectally normal for someone from outer space

  • Sensationell. Ein Stück Geschichte. Wow.

  • guitar sounds too metal :(

  • @chvaky comment too whiney :(

  • @chvaky well in case if you didn't know, Blues really was one of the sonuds that kicked off metal along with off course rock.

  • @chvaky too metal?...is there such a thing?

  • Agh living proof that you don't need just drums, bass and guitar to rock out. He just has so much stage presence and energy with the crowd. EWG I salute you!

  • the best of the best long live white trashes

masters of the unknown at the 10th dimension

  • These guys are insane! Edgar Winter can still REALLY belt it in song! Wow, wouldn't it have been great to be there??

  • Edgar Wiinter *---*

  • I will. Thanks.

  • Watch this all the way through!!! Hot damn. The guitar work is perfect.

Fabulous version of a fabulous song. The Winter brothers are among the best of the best. Anything they do is the best.

  • first concert i ever saw, freaking $2.50 at Normandy High school, was edgars white trash in 71 or 72. he sang this but the guitarist was derringer. and the back up band was the blues project. and now that is the school my son goes to. pretty strange. i think about it now and it's like what can kids do now a days for 3 bucks???

  • Great video, saw EWG way back in early 70's several times with Rick Derringer. They were great, and Edgar can still bring it. Rock on brother

  • Isn't it amazing how someone so white on the outside can be so black, on the inside :-) He sounds just like George Benson, to me!

  • He looks the same now as he did back in '72!!

  • dat guy is probly one of the greatest singers on the planet

  • Fuckin' hell - what a mean bad ass guitarist, who is he??!!

  • His name is Doug Rappoport, and he's crazy good. There are some videos of him on here if you search his name.

  • If any of you also haven't noticed, Mark Meadows is one BAD ASS bass player too !!!

  • Bass player is SMOKIN' ! Who is he ?

  • That's Mark Meadows

  • Doug Rappoport is the current EWG guitar player.

His new solo album "BIONIC" is killer!!!

  • Edgard y johnny son la verga....

  • first i found johnny. then edgar. and watched frankenstein in awe.

  • amazing.... he's over 60 and still has it.

  • Amazing. Edgar & Johnny should both be in The R & R Hall Of Fame.
