Sherri neglects the love factor.. She repeatedly speaks on someone that supports her and her career which is fine but you have to be in love. I garuntee you sandra bullock got cheated on because her partner was a good business partner but not a lover
this is so crazy to me to see these comments. what is wrong with wanting to be provided for in a relationship? now if financially that isnt possible then just be up front. whats even more so is i was never a gold digger, never wanted much as far as criteria went, I have gone to school with major athletes and have worked in the entertainment industry around major celebs and without fail they want the best. the girl with the best body and head game. why cant women want the same?
Then Sherri tries to defend her gold digging mentality by "I was riding the bus myself." LOL Most girls who ride the bus ONLY date men with cars. Why would they date a man that rides the bus? How are they going to go places together? Bus fair? Most women don't do that. lol Fail on sherri's part.
Sherri Shepherd was laughing in the beginning the way most women would. Women like her don't respect men they make more than. That's why most women regardless of race is single. They want richer, dominant, successful, "loyal" men.
(lot) be successful and hill is acting as if he is totally clueless about it. The entertainment industry isnt about what you know or how good you can act, sing or dance but about who you know, the network/connection cause LORD we all can list a number of celebs who cant have little or no talent; yet they are famous. and Sherri is married today and isnt Hill still single?
@lauh4rl and yet he is still single. which obviously means he doesnt want a relationship and enjoy playing the fields. for christ sake the man is in his early to mid 40s almost 50.
@choochiXluvzXMakeup ...:lol..Cause a man is single he is playing the field ...steups that is sexist..just like hill said in the video u are puttin matrix on your life and others as well...you are lettin time determine your life ...you are comparing his life with others...stop comparing and you would find peace...
@lauh4rl please stop talking out of your ass. If your almost touching 50 and you haven't been married and not looking to marry either in POV that obviously means Hill doesnt want to marry, he wants to remain single, i dont see why its so hard for you to understand. Yeah but where do you draw the line, when do you come to that point in your life where you say its obvious? Sexist, really? If your 46 and aint married and not looking to marry then he enjoys being single.
@lauh4rl what is so hard for you to get, it isnt sexist it is what is. first of all the man was acting from the 1990s and continued until today as he said he was working in a diner while going to auditions, thus he wanted to be in acting. denial, denial, denial. everyone as potential. everyone.
i am not fan of sherri but i dont blame her for not dating Harper and a not of black people on here is looking at the fact that he is successful, however he is successful in an industry were he got lucky i am not saying the man doesnt have talent but the entertainment industry the one of(may even be) the hardest industry to get in and at the time she was looking at the possibilities if him not making not him making and to her it did, yes he is now famous but there was also the possibility he
@choochiXluvzXMakeup ...You also have to understand that he has to degrees not that he wanted to make it in acting it..but he was pursuing degrees .....he definiatily had potential.....and had something to back up him up in life...
@choochiXluvzXMakeup Yep she was looking that it wasn't likely, but she didn't really have anything herself. This is a prime example, she is so focused where she wants to be.....smh she messed up big time....smh, she could of possibly been married to him, oh well,....lol
@jesusishisname102 and since that time sherri as been married twice and he is still single nuff said. The only reason why your defending Hill Harper is because he is successful because you and i both know that its one hard industry to get in and if he didnt make it into acting you would be singing a different tune. Its not like Hill was trying to getting into a career with the degree the had where she could have given the relationship a chance. she was thinking about now than
What Hill Harper said about him and Sherri tells exactly what BM have been trying to say for a while. They were on the same level then but she wanted somebody alot more successful than she was at the time. She missed out cuz he didnt have a car. I bet she regrets that decision now.
Why do many Females always try to Shoe Horn in the Natural Things there body's do on a Normal Bases. You never hear men say " I work hard as well baby , I produce Million, Billion and Trillions of sperm every second of everyday" We are not that Vain, we understand that your body holds the Seed of Life, we give it the Water the Seed needs, and your Womb is the Grounds of which that life can grow. But without each other, no one is better then the other. IMO.
what sheppard smith does not know that men with children that they raise on their own are going to natural look for a women who can help them raise their children. I guarantee that man in the Home Depot store knew Sheppard was already a mother. He just either turned off or scared about the celebrity. It could of even been that he saw make controversial remarks on youtube and that could of turned him off.
Harper and Harvey are so on point in these discussions. I've tried to help many friends of mine but they are usually so oblivious! Some men and some women need to simply learn and love who they are first and then blending in a relationship would be easier. Most men and women are so worried about what they want they dont make room or time to learn the other person and blend. Sometimes this includes sacraficing to be a lil different and understanding. The movie Hitch is the perfect example!
successful women have enough trouble just for being successful. if black is a factor it's a secondary one.
also that is the most attractive fat woman I've ever seen. It is really weirding me out that she's attractive to me. It might have something to do with the fact that she seems kind and confident, which is rare for fat people.
Propaganda this is being done because of the rise of michelle obama can't get to her get to the rest of them they step up their media assault on black women on purpose to drive black women to white men or other race's because once the black woman cut's out from the self preservation game we are done in this country anywhere white's are they always remain a ruling class over the darker mix up race's the so called pure white's control the MEDIA I REPEAT MEDIA what's there purpose?
Sherri is talking about all this stuff about taking care of her man and doing hair and blah blah blah. Im assumming she aint got no man and she still overweight. What is her excuse b/c thats where steve was going with it. He was saying Sheri was aestetically pleasing on the eye.
Typical when sherri tried to sum up Hill went for the brother wit the car ! Where is he at ? Is that her baby Daddy ? Now want Hill. Some women can be such brainless hypocrites!
@andre12593 Yup exactly, you see how Hill Harper never said yea lets work out something backstage to Sherry. He didnt say anything like that. She had her chance and she missed out on a good opportunity.He dont want her now,PLEASE!
@TheBritfashionista exactly, and it not the fact that she turned Harper down long time ago. It is the fact the he has risen to stardom and can find far more younger and attractive woman than Sheppard Smith. Why put up with Sheppard attitude and need to control, and unattractiveness when a guy like Harper can probably date a hot young Brazilian model with no emotional baggage!! it is a no brainer to me.
Lets keep this shit real!! any borther wanna hit something young, but to marry a sista that young? why? for the purpose of Manipulation!! older women!! yall gotta stop letting your bodies go! go jogging!! men like tight bodies just like yall like tight bodies and pretty boys!! dont get complacent! older women have experience, but i dont want a fat experienced older women! you gotta! sorry to say!! keep my pete weta hard!! if you dont!! then dont get mad when we "look" we l.love you,, but dayum!
Guys stop being so offensive... none of the women in the audience or on the panel or even commenting on this post are offended! Maybe if you guys would voice a real and complete thought, we would listen to you guys more. Thank God for the Hill Harpers of the world who can actually communicate their thoughts and opinions! Fellas GROW UP! And who wants to date a guy who can't even take care of himself. Ughhh ya'll black men are literally killing me!
@mslady30117 the same question can be said. who wants to date an 40+ year old overweight women with a child. no sensible man. Sherri has a child out of wedlock, she is now unattractive and much older. Yet she wants prince charming to come rescue her and train her son on how to become a man. She does not even have a good personality or spirit, so why does she feel entitled to a successful Black man???? In reality successful handsome men would never consider Sheppard Smith including Harper Hill.
Guys... black men... please focus on the ENTIRE statement. I don't know if it's a "man" thing or a "black man" thing but as soon as you guys hear or THINK you hear, you set up a soap box and harp on it! She gave a complete story of why it is difficult for her to date a regular guy... She did not say anything NEGATIVE about postal workers, etc. She just said that in most cases they cannot handle her celebrity which is probably the case with all ppl when dating a celeb! Geesh LISTEN!
but the same bw then goes and talks about how "succesful" or "famous" black men dont wanna date bw. it's the same thing. the truth is bw and bm cant stand each other we only deal with each other. So when either one of us "make it out" so to speak..we look down on others and thats not all but alot of us. women do is waaaay more than men tho.
@OniNoFro that sounds so callous. you should take it as a complement and an honor that you were chosen to help her by whatever power instead of thinking of 'being taken for a sucker' its an honor to raise our next generation. you sound soulless and empty,sir. that is sad. i dont know if this is a true story but perhaps the woman was hoping that if you were willing to put your flesh inside of her then maybe just maybe you would be willing to help her in other facets
I'm callous, soulless/empty for honoring a woman's right to choose what she does with her body, her consequences, and her life WITHOUT it impacting mine?
Indeed it's an honor to raise the next generation when that next generation is one's own. Otherwise it's an obligation I had no choice/influence in the creation of. Don't pawn off on me the often faulty decision making of others.
It's so sad when women think they can get away with childlike attitudes.
@OniNoFro not saying anything childish, what is childish is thinking that one can behave like an adult but then want no part in adult like activities. this is the issue, if a man is lying w/ a woman & having sex but will not take it to the next level because she has had children from other relationships is extremely childish. things happen. divorces happen, people die. people leave their families.how beautiful is it that a woman can look to a man to help her. a true partner.not burden
To repeat: I'm not even talking about an eventual point of laying with a woman w/o being scoped by women as a provider for her and other men's children.
And even then, I would agree with you on a logical basis if men had even half of the reproductive options (as comparable) birth control options available which recognized rights before, during, and after coitus. This discussion woudl have more weight if men had a birth control pill. Then it would be quite clear for all...
@OniNoFro i honestly think plenty of people have sex way too prematurely. but riddle me this, if all b/c were outlawed how would that effect your dating scene? people use sex as a determining factor when it should be love that leads the way. if you can have sex with someone you dont love, can you love someone you dont have sex with? if people would rely more on love instead of DICK-tractions then perhaps your standards list would be a little more realistic and a little less divisive
I agree many have sex before they are ready but your hypothetical outlawing of BCs is an interesting tangent (which distracts from the issue). Yup I can love w/o sex. Done it and continue to. But when it's time to have sex, it has to be mutually satisfying.
On love itself many people often interpret it as "what they will do for me" (a tragedy don't stand for) and after seeing hundreds of examples of women "loving" men by using them; well I'm not a girl's PUSS-ESSION.
As a man what I think is quite childish in women is the assumed stance of infallibility. Often members of your gender can't even admit when they are in error.
It isn't childish to hold people to their respective power and decision making levels; rational people call that Risk Management.
@OniNoFro some women are not childish in regards to sexual relationships and risk management just as some men are not ignorant. perhaps this situation has not effected you but my dad helped my mom to raise three of my siblings following she and her husbands divorce and my husband would be very hurt if i even referred to our daughter as his stepchild. i used to feel like you. unsympathetic callous and cold but thankfully i was shown love truly has no limits. have a good life
Well it's great your dad elected to do that as his choice. What I'm saying is, simply, that choice isn't mandatory nor should it be expected.
While it may appear to be without sympathy, that isn't the case at all. Rather, I am capable at keeping emotions out of decisions as quite often listening blindly and exclusively to emotion-states is responsible for a lot of the ills in this world; knowing this, I opt to not add to it.
@OniNoFro an emotionless robotic decision has no place in human society. ones legacy is built with choices good or bad but what may be bad to some might be the best for others.im not saying anyone should be made to feel that they are obligated to care for a family they didnt have a hand in creating but if so said man is making a conscious decision to keep knocking down mommy's sugarwalls,it is to be expected that she will see you as a partner,sharing her life & her life is being a mom
Who said anything about being w/o emotion? Rather, I have feelings but my intellect informs my decisions; emotions influence or stimulate them. It's a matter of temperance rather than indulgence.
And in regards to dating/involvement's your statement supports mine once again.
By having solid criteria, by adhering to them or reexamining if necessary (not convenient) men and women can make better decisions.
It's worked well for me & also means I've never created unwanted life.
@OniNoFro whats callous, oninofro, is your comment about 'getting your shoes' no reason to make joke or light about an epidemic that is plaguing our people. our culture. not condoning women or men making babies and deciding to not stay together but everyone is different. every person unique. expectations are nothing but premeditated disappointments. enjoy your day
There is nothing callous in having one's priorities/standards in order. Just as women have their selection criteria for men, I have my criteria for women. The core list (in order):
1) Intelligent w/firm grasp of causal reality
2) Not married
3) No children
4) Self-determining
5) Strong mutual attraction & adventurous in bed
If a woman doesn't have all of these VITAL traits, I put on my shoes; in other words I walk away. Usually I know after about 2 public dates.
@OniNoFro again, expectations often are premeditated disappointments. everyone has standards but you never know. you could be missing out on great opportunity and the love of your life because of what? the thought she lied with another man and had a baby? the fact that she loved before so she decided to start a family? or youre punishing her for the fact she cared for someone else long before you? wow. stand up guy you are. enjoy life.know life.
"Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment". Ok; look at my hopes. What's disappointing is the unequal responsibility expected of those with little power in decision making processes. Do I punish women for loving men & creating new life? No.
I'm accepting my tolerances and clearly stating my expectations.
I am a stand up guy; self-assessing/defined w/o seeking the approval of others.
Your standards inform who you interact with and select. Mine do the same w/o regret.
@OniNoFro you can do all the tallying and standard listing you want, adversary, but all im saying is dont be surprised if love finds you in an unexpected state or with some unwanted 'baggage'
:=) but promise me you will find me and say, Courtney, you were right. and youre gorgeous. thanks ;-)
What did i base my list on? nothing. just childish preconceptions of what I felt would make a good boyfriend/husband. I was married at 20. what did I know? fools rush in. husband is black, lawyer, professor, not that tall, dry humor funny and loves me. im thankful. hope you find your happiness or find yourself bitter
Girls like you reinforce the idea more & more on a daily basis through your actions and words that you see men as facilitators to your goals/needs.
Let me splash cold water in your collective faces:
.You aren't entitled to whatever you'd like to us.
. We aren't obligated to you.
Oh yeah... great compliment and honor to raise other people's kids instead of deciding for myself if/when to have my own... yeah that extra burden feels damn good after decades of misandric rhetoric...
@OniNoFro you are missing a key and vital point. i am saying if a man is lying with a woman and doing husband duties as far as the bed goes, why wouldnt a woman think that this is her man? her partner? now if that is not a mans intent then dutifully say so at the jump. I feel like say what youre about. if you cant even speak it then you are ashamed and shouldnt be doing it. i have known plenty of good men that have helped women raise and rear kids that came from other relationships
We're not even at the point where "laying together" has happened and your sentiment, while I agree with certain elements of, echoes often women make poor chocies then eventually reassess their standards to "settle" on driven, earnest, intelligent good men.
I agree on social intent, and of course sexual intent. Hell I think pre-coitus agreements should exist so it's plain and clear!
If other men want to raise kids, that's their choice.
@OniNoFro i am respecting your choice and what i am saying is thankfully there are other men who step up to the plate. i have known a couple of women in my college that were raped and chose to keep their children. a decision i dont think i could make but they did. i think any position that a person can provide regarding not caring for these smart intellectual funny and incredible ladies simply because they were 'at the wrong place wrong time' ridiculous. excuse me.
Indeed it may be a benefit to some but I wouldn't even say most. Men & women need to reassess what's -critically-important and move forward with that mutually shared understanding.
Now when you're taking about "these ladies" are you referring to your friends or the two celebrities on the panel? My comments are in context to the mindsets expressed by the panel; not diverging beyond that as the basis of discussion.
Regarding your friends, it's unfortunate they were raped but
"BUT I HAD POTENTIAL" LOL! How many of us real brothers say that after the fact that we have been turned down by these same black women that proclaim to want us?!?!
What they failed to mention (bringing up Sandra Bullock) is that she (Sandra) married a guy that wasn't worth a damn. She knew he was that way when she met him. She said to herself: " I can change him." Or: "I can get to his soft side." That was just as much her as it was him. She didn't have a good point.
What is wrong with these two women they always have to have a comeback instead of just admitting any if the brothas are right. I nite what there missing. . Humility
its that old feminist shit..always gotta make a counter argument even if it isnt there just to argue and get a few "mmhmmm you go giiiirl" from the audience.
Sherri should kill herself right now! You had a chance with HILL HARPER and you blew it cuz of his job?!!!!!!!!! Hill Harper is my ideal man! Bus or no bus I woulda copped that man immediately!!!!
@KingMellow11 ALL WOMEN WANT TOO MUCH!(dont buy it when some women say that they dont want too much cause truth is that...WOMEN WANT WAY TOO DAMN MUCH!)
ATTENTION NIGGERS, SPADES, COONS, PORCH-MONKEYS, SPOOKS: Niggers are the scum of the earth, useless to society and themselves and cursed by God (curse of Ham). The world would be a better place without this sub-human slave-race (less disease, criminals, laziness and stupidity)
P.S. YOU ALL LOOK LIKE THE SHIT THAT COMES OUT OF MY ASS AND I WANT TO USE YOU ALL AS TOILET PAPER….LOL!
BW stop saying I'm looking for my Barack, BO has made a place in history that few WM will achieve and don't look for a Barack if you are not a Michelle,Barack is a Colombia uni,harvard grad,lawyer,constitutional law professor,senator,now most powerful man in world president,also average BM don't look for a Michelle Obama if you are not a Barack, MO Princeton grad,havard grad,lawyer,executive making close to six figure,don't forget good mother great personality
Hill Harper is to smart to be up here with these people he's the only voice of reason harvard education went to school with the president men first of all think we can talk to women in an intellectual manner as a BM i find this almost impossible with BW my whole life it's like theres nothing upstairs accept emotional nonsensical baggage from ancient past with BW, I find with other races of women you can have intellectual abstract arguments but the real culprit is the White Man
A blue collar worker around houston like my dad makes over 100K a year, a plumber with his own business like my uncle might make over 300K a year. So blue collar isn't bad
@QLEANQLASSY you're right... i had a sista at a party tell me once that she'd rather date a starvin' artist that a sanitation worker or a mickey d's manager.....aint that some shit? i told her boogee as to step...lol
that hill harper story is a good one but they are many black women are still doing this today i remember peppa from salt & peppa said that will smith was trying to date her but at the time peppa decline because he was to nice and not thug enough and got with treach and where did that lead up to at times women know what good men are they just don't want them until they have at least one or two kids and thats when they finally wake up
Be impressed with the fact that God's woman is a woman of real power. Which is more far reaching. Too often great women go unnoticed and without praise. Not so with the godly woman. God's woman is of real substance and lasting quality and will offer important contributions to herself, to her family, and to society.
"Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies." — Proverbs 31.10.
Keep on thinking you're successful because of what society has determined to be successful.
I love rehabbing houses and the one thing I look for are old houses with "good bones". What that means to me is, if I can see the potential to take a dirty, shabby, in need of repairs but well structured home a palace, I'm buying it. So, I suppose sometimes we have to look at the structure of a person in terms of character, ambition and potential, and by doing so we may just have in front of us what we thought we had to look for.
Right after I heard this story of how Sherri dissed Hill back in day, anything she got to say this point is moot. She can't complain about s--t.
That right there is what makes far too many sistas single. They get those unreal expectations from the get go, & casts hardworking young brothas like Hill as nerds & diss them.
Then when these brothas start to shine all of a sudden these same sistas wanna piece of the action, 40 & 50 pounds later with 2 OOW kids in tow.
@willia3r I was thinking the same too. Hill actually blew open her cover. After that, my thoughts were what else has she got to say that would still make any sense. What I think is the problem with those two women is a simple term called humility. They are always ready to have a sort of 'come back ' argument. Never ready at any point to listen and admit or say, 'you know, what you guys just said is right, and perhaps these are some things and the younger generation can learn from us.
There is nothing wrong with being a successful woman but I don't think a great mother and a great wife whilst having a successful career is realistic. be realistic and stop trying to find the man that has it all together. Find the potential and you will be sitting on a goldmine. This is coming from a Black Woman.
Hill Harper was speaking a lot of truth. He had potential but she didn't even bother to acknowledge it at the time, now you have 'two eggs left'. I think that the role of what it is to be woman and what it is to be a man has disentegrated. This society is almost functioning to accomodate women but by doing so it is asking the man to be less of what he is genetically designed to be.
@Bexly She is full of shit,she had to bring all that up?Well women have to go into labor and all that mess, Yes I understand what women have to go through because Im a women. But shit, you gotta keep yourself up to par. Men are visual, at the end of the day it's great your handling your responsiblities. But men want a women that looks good on the inside and out. What Sherry said is an excuse. I think there both stuck up,quite honestly
@TheBritfashionista you are on it my girl... i played that game at a party a few years ago, garbage man, starving artist, MBA grad.... i cant believe some of the stuff that comes out of single sistas mouths sometimes. but you are on point. take care of yourself first, get educated, stay healthy, be confident and dont let us men get over on you! and jaque reed is without a doubt stuck up...lol
Why do they have Sherri on there making Black women look bad? Shes very uneducated, and keeps saying dumb shiat, like "the pool is lowered, thats what alot of women fine"
Hey think of it this way. Jimi Izreal or whatever he is ain't making the men look good. I'm glad his homo-self STF & let the real men take the microphone.
true hes the weak link on that panel. And Steve is just there. the men in general was a weak group. You notice when any controversial issue came up on the women, the men got scared? Steve would put his head down, or the other men would be scared to keep it real. This is why nothings being done, men arent being honest about womens mistakes.
I think the men are holding back because unfortunately as I heard on that wonderful old Disney movie Mary Poppins: "A spoon full of sugar helps the medicine go down."
More specific, the only way sistas will really care to hear what us brothas are saying is when we try to dress up the criticism as diplomatic as possible. Otherwise the message will not get thru.
Although apparently from going thru this series, the women still did not seem to get it.
yes but seriously you have to have sex with them. YOu have to be romantic. The sandra bullock bullshit tells me she was more concerned with making money then giving her man a blow job. He found some bitches that could hook him up. I can understand that. Men like their wives to be nice to them. I can understand that
the dude from Home Depot sounds like a Tyler Perry character (maybe not real) The real reason SOME only some of these women are single is because of the term "On our level" They don't know what THEIR LEVEL is!! It has nothing to do with money it has everything to do with somebody having the know how and ablity to relate and DEAL with them.
@blahblahblahman Not to mention she wants a man to play step daddy for her kid and that alone giver her a strike. Most men, especially ones with money do NOT want to father another man's child..that's just how it is. Harper called her out on her superficiality.
@blahblahblahman i think someone already addressed this simple question of yours...he was on her level at the time. Sherri is full shit b/c much like 90% of the female population in America she wants more than she deserves, better yet...she wants more than she's earned. You could snatch the fuckin' sun out of the sky and give it to a female and she still won't appreciate the shit.
Black women are the bottom of the barrel. I don't see why any sensible man would want to marry such a species of monkey. The black woman is a booty-shaking babboon. They are no-longer women. They are masculine mutants with nappy heads with other guy's kids. Fuck dat !!!! Why would any single intelligent man be interested in these black hoes with their outta wed-locked children. FUCK BLACK WOMEN. I HOPE THEY PERISH FOR THEIR STUPIDITY..........THEY ARE UGLY, IGNORANT, STUPID, DUMB....etc
@single4themoment There is so much anger in your words. From the abundance of the heart- the mouth speaks. With those ugly, harsh and disrespectful words I pray God does a healing in your heart. Let love rule and flow through you. I hope one day you meet a black woman who demonstrates just how beautiful and intelligent we are. God bless!
@mssuchalillady I know you might feel that you are the bigger person by asking God to bless someone that is clearly a wicked beast. But I would ask you reconsider that policy. We can no longer hope to "change" our enemies with love we have to start loving our friends and families and ourselves.
I'm asking God to destroy our enemies and let them be aflicted with the fate they dream for us. May God bless you and all your righteous dreams
Let me guess: he's "husband material" due to his social (celebrity) status & wealth.
I can acknowledge how he'd be aesthetically pleasing but that's not likely to be as important as the other two points above. Well... at least you're honest about your business. Shame it's repeating the issue theses vids are about lol
@OniNoFro NOPE....the reason I said that was because he has something called character, integrity, humbleness and respect for self...these are things that status, nor money can buy. To me those are attractive I see in any man. Majority I have seen that guys who let money and status get to their head and they get very arrogant and cocky and thats an instant turn off for me. Having character, being real, having a big heart takes precedence over any materialistic thing. There is not irony at all
@OniNoFro Your apology has been accepted....you have to understand that they are women out there who look for good characteristics that would make them good fathers....at least I do. Not stupid material things and status
I think the first thing, which I hope women have figured out, is finding a man who makes a good partner for them. Parenthood is serious serious business and should be explored with the partner as an idea long before children enter the picture.
For me personally, I refuse to be a father until I know I'm ready. There are things I have to figure out and understand so the life I help cultivate can have a positive impact and be a decent human. But only when ready.
@OniNoFro I completely agree Im the same way...everyday I try to figure out what values I would want to instill in my children so that thet can grow to be respecful people in society...I dont want my kids to be spolit brats...
@OniNoFro I would rather go out with a simple guy who does not have a fancy job, car etc, but has character, is family oriented, respects women than a guy who is rich and outright disrespectful to others. Money and fame dont mean shit to me! Its whats on the inside that counts. If Hill Harper was like those other rappers, I would not like him. Looks is not a measure of character. I have come to realise that no matter how 'aesthetically pleasing' he may be he can still be an asshole
My family reunion, but I don't know if Hill is a relation, but I highly suspect he is. My moms a Blackman and her mom was a Boyd. The Boyd's an the Harper's linked up and one of moms cousins played some ball back in the day for Frisco, pops people are baseball dudes. So you have a Hill Harper Jones, that's cute you never know. If you haven't guessed by looking at the video their all just regular people with the same problems and concerns as anyone else. I hope you find em.
There are plenty of "Hill Harpers" for you out there. Just know though, that they will not have that major money right off the bat. They also may not be 6'0" in height. But what they do have is ambition & a romantic heart.
They just need the right type of woman to bring them into that full potential.
@willia3r I agree with you 100%! Actually I was corresponding with an beautiful, good hearted man who was very ambitious who imprisoned and I saw lots of potential in him and I was willing to push him to the top! I dont believing in bashing men, but inspiring them to their full potential.
The better class of black women are not desperate enough to date prisoners. In actuality, you are not dating. He is lonely and horny. I am sure you are not the only one is is chatting up. He wants to get mail to keep from going crazy. In addition, you know he is gettin' his physical needs met by the brothers or others. Hey too each her own I guess. It is just seem extremely desperate behavior.
@PatsBooks Not necessarily, as he was not my type anyways...however, I did learn to appreciate freedom and to work hard for everything that I want if Im to suceed. this is so crazy to me to see these comments. what is wrong with wanting to be provided for in a relationship? now if financially that isnt possible then just be up front. whats even more so is i was never a gold digger, never wanted much as far as criteria went, I have gone to school with major athletes and have worked in the entertainment industry around major celebs and without fail they want the best. the girl with the best body and head game. why cant women want the same?
seeomega 3 weeks ago
Then Sherri tries to defend her gold digging mentality by "I was riding the bus myself." LOL Most girls who ride the bus ONLY date men with cars. Why would they date a man that rides the bus? How are they going to go places together? Bus fair? Most women don't do that. lol Fail on sherri's part.

what sheppard smith does not know that men with children that they raise on their own are going to natural look for a women who can help them raise their children.

@mslady30117 the same question can be said. who wants to date an 40+ year old overweight women with a child. no sensible man. What??!!?! Oh I'm sorry... I was putting on my shoes and leaving!
OniNoFro 8 months ago 13
@OniNoFro that sounds so callous. you should take it as a complement and an honor that you were chosen to help her by whatever power instead of thinking of 'being taken for a sucker' its an honor to raise our next generation. you sound soulless and empty,sir. that is sad. i dont know if this is a true story but perhaps the woman was hoping that if you were willing to put your flesh inside of her then maybe just maybe you would be willing to help her in other facets
seeomega 3 weeks ago
@seeomega
OniNoFro 3 weeks ago
@OniNoFro not saying anything childish, what is childish is thinking that one can behave like an adult but then want no part in adult like activities. this is the issue, if a man is lying w/ a woman & having sex but will not take it to the next level because she has had children from other relationships is extremely childish. things happen. divorces happen, people die. people leave their families.how beautiful is it that a woman can look to a man to help her. a true partner.not burden
seeomega 3 weeks ago
@seeomega
OniNoFro 3 weeks ago
@OniNoFro i honestly think plenty of people have sex way too prematurely. but riddle me this, if all b/c were outlawed how would that effect your dating scene? people use sex as a determining factor when it should be love that leads the way. if you can have sex with someone you dont love, can you love someone you dont have sex with? if people would rely more on love instead of DICK-tractions then perhaps your standards list would be a little more realistic and a little less divisive
seeomega 3 weeks ago
@seeomega
OniNoFro 3 weeks ago
@seeomega
As a man what I think is quite childish in women is the assumed stance of infallibility. Often members of your gender can't even admit when they are in error.
It isn't childish to hold people to their respective power and decision making levels; rational people call that Risk Management.
OniNoFro 3 weeks ago
@OniNoFro some women are not childish in regards to sexual relationships and risk management just as some men are not ignorant. perhaps this situation has not effected you but my dad helped my mom to raise three of my siblings following she and her husbands divorce and my husband would be very hurt if i even referred to our daughter as his stepchild. i used to feel like you. unsympathetic callous and cold but thankfully i was shown love truly has no limits. have a good life
seeomega 3 weeks ago
@seeomega
OniNoFro 3 weeks ago
@OniNoFro an emotionless robotic decision has no place in human society. ones legacy is built with choices good or bad but what may be bad to some might be the best for others.im not saying anyone should be made to feel that they are obligated to care for a family they didnt have a hand in creating but if so said man is making a conscious decision to keep knocking down mommy's sugarwalls,it is to be expected that she will see you as a partner,sharing her life & her life is being a mom
seeomega 3 weeks ago
@seeomega
OniNoFro 3 weeks ago
@OniNoFro whats callous, oninofro, is your comment about 'getting your shoes' no reason to make joke or light about an epidemic that is plaguing our people. our culture. not condoning women or men making babies and deciding to not stay together but everyone is different. every person unique. expectations are nothing but premeditated disappointments. enjoy your day
seeomega 3 weeks ago
@seeomega
OniNoFro 3 weeks ago
@OniNoFro again, expectations often are premeditated disappointments. everyone has standards but you never know. you could be missing out on great opportunity and the love of your life because of what? the thought she lied with another man and had a baby? the fact that she loved before so she decided to start a family? or youre punishing her for the fact she cared for someone else long before you? wow. stand up guy you are. enjoy life.know life.
seeomega 3 weeks ago
@seeomega
OniNoFro 3 weeks ago
@OniNoFro you can do all the tallying and standard listing you want, adversary, but all im saying is dont be surprised if love finds you in an unexpected state or with some unwanted 'baggage'

@OniNoFro my criteria before getting married
BLACK
College Educated
Funny
Tall
Younger than 25
No more than 1 sexual partner
What did i base my list on? nothing. just childish preconceptions of what I felt would make a good boyfriend/husband. I was married at 20. what did I know? fools rush in. husband is black, lawyer, professor, not that tall, dry humor funny and loves me. im thankful. hope you find your happiness or find yourself bitter
seeomega 3 weeks ago
@seeomega
OniNoFro 3 weeks ago
@OniNoFro you are missing a key and vital point. i am saying if a man is lying with a woman and doing husband duties as far as the bed goes, why wouldnt a woman think that this is her man? her partner? now if that is not a mans intent then dutifully say so at the jump. I feel like say what youre about. if you cant even speak it then you are ashamed and shouldnt be doing it. i have known plenty of good men that have helped women raise and rear kids that came from other relationships
seeomega 3 weeks ago
@seeomega
Respect mine.
OniNoFro 3 weeks ago
@OniNoFro i am respecting your choice and what i am saying is thankfully there are other men who step up to the plate. i have known a couple of women in my college that were raped and chose to keep their children. a decision i dont think i could make but they did. i think any position that a person can provide regarding not caring for these smart intellectual funny and incredible ladies simply because they were 'at the wrong place wrong time' ridiculous. excuse me.
seeomega 3 weeks ago
@seeomega

So, I suppose sometimes we have to look at the structure of a person in terms of character, ambition and potential, and by doing so we may just have in front of us what we thought we had to look for.

willia3r 1 year ago 16

This is coming from a Black Woman.
psat21 1 year ago

I'm glad his homo-self STF & let the real men take the microphone.
willia3r 1 year ago
@willia3r
true hes the weak link on that panel. And Steve is just there. the men in general was a weak group. You notice when any controversial issue came up on the women, the men got scared? Steve would put his head down, or the other men would be scared to keep it real. This is why nothings being done, men arent being honest about womens mistakes.
ronaldmcdonald1977 1 year ago
@ronaldmcdonald1977
Tragic...
willia3r 1 year ago
yes but seriously you have to have sex with them.

Why is she full of shit? She wants a man who is on her level because she's successful, and you're not. Stop hating.

@blahblahblahman He was on her level. She was riding the bus at the time.
libertybraves 6 months ago
@blahblahblahman Not to mention she wants a man to play step daddy for her kid and that alone giver her a strike. Most men, especially ones with money do NOT want to father another man's child..that's just how it is. Harper called her out on her superficiality.
DeadSleepers 6 months ago

I HOPE THEY PERISH FOR THEIR STUPIDITY..........THEY ARE UGLY, IGNORANT, STUPID, DUMB....etc
single4themoment 1 year ago
@single4themoment There is so much anger in your words. From the abundance of the heart- the mouth speaks. With those ugly, harsh and disrespectful words I pray God does a healing in your heart. Let love rule and flow through you. I hope one day you meet a black woman who demonstrates just how beautiful and intelligent we are. God bless!
mssuchalillady 1 year ago
@mssuchalillady I know you might feel that you are the bigger person by asking God to bless someone that is clearly a wicked beast. But I would ask you reconsider that policy. We can no longer hope to "change" our enemies with love we have to start loving our friends and families and ourselves.
I'm asking God to destroy our enemies and let them be aflicted with the fate they dream for us. May God bless you and all your righteous dreams

I want me a Hill Harper!!!! He is definitely husband material!!!!
coppersulphate002 1 year ago 21
@coppersulphate002
lol there is so much irony in what you said.
OniNoFro 1 year ago
@OniNoFro NOPE....the reason I said that was because he has something called character, integrity, humbleness and respect for self...these are things that status, nor money can buy. To me those are attractive I see in any man. Majority I have seen that guys who let money and status get to their head and they get very arrogant and cocky and thats an instant turn off for me. Having character, being real, having a big heart takes precedence over any materialistic thing. There is not irony at all
coppersulphate002 1 year ago
@coppersulphate002
Then I apologize for two reasons:
1) I was in error. I value facts so if you are being sincere, I apologize.
2) You must be surrounded by scum. Or at best, the good man has allowed himself to become invisible so he can focus on doing what he must do.
Either way, both require correcting and it's a shame I can have a hand in only one.
OniNoFro 1 year ago
@OniNoFro Your apology has been accepted....you have to understand that they are women out there who look for good characteristics that would make them good fathers....at least I do. Not stupid material things and status
coppersulphate002 1 year ago
@coppersulphate002
That's fair.
OniNoFro 1 year ago
@OniNoFro I completely agree Im the same way...everyday I try to figure out what values I would want to instill in my children so that thet can grow to be respecful people in society...I dont want my kids to be spolit brats...
coppersulphate002 1 year ago
@OniNoFro I would rather go out with a simple guy who does not have a fancy job, car etc, but has character, is family oriented, respects women than a guy who is rich and outright disrespectful to others. Money and fame dont mean shit to me! Its whats on the inside that counts. If Hill Harper was like those other rappers, I would not like him. Looks is not a measure of character. I have come to realise that no matter how 'aesthetically pleasing' he may be he can still be an asshole

@pistonear What's the "Harper Boyd family reunion"?
coppersulphate002 1 year ago
@coppersulphate002
I hope you find em.
pistonear 1 year ago
@coppersulphate002
There are plenty of "Hill Harpers" for you out there. Just know though, that they will not have that major money right off the bat. They also may not be 6'0" in height. But what they do have is ambition & a romantic heart.
They just need the right type of woman to bring them into that full potential.
willia3r 1 year ago 3
@willia3r I agree with you 100%! Actually I was corresponding with an beautiful, good hearted man who was very ambitious who imprisoned and I saw lots of potential in him and I was willing to push him to the top! I dont believing in bashing men, but inspiring them to their full potential.
coppersulphate002 1 year ago
@coppersulphate002

So it was a good experience, and no Im not desparate, if I was I would have married him ;) wish I didnt. But my type are well educated men who have a good job and are ambitious, white or black. I have to see him as being a good provider for my children; Im still looking for my Hill Harper or Simon Baker.. So there you go!

Sherri is an idiot, like most AA women, who want the perfect black man with the perfect job and if they dont meet this expectation this pass him up, like you say.
AA women need to stop being so judgemental and accept a man for his character and heart not material things. And Im not AA btw
