Mezuzah is no amulet , it does not protect anybody, it's a pieace of parchment. If you beleive God protects you because you put mezuzah up, obviously you follow a shamanistic religion. Mezuzah is there to protect your seichel ! so when you see it you remember HKB''H . Stop spreading this shamanistic views, yidden have some yiras shomayim!
Sephardic Jews afix the mezuzah vertically. Unfortunatelyl, in the past, non-Jews would sneak up and add a horizontal line, so from a distance it looked like a Christian cross. So the Ashkenazi Jews started putting them up slanted to avoid that sort of pranks.
2. Would kissing it more than once give you more blessings?
Is it something you can do to bring blessings to others? If a person kissed the mezuzah once for every family member living in the house, would that make sense? By Proxy, kissing of the mezuzah, per se?
Could you explain a bit about how touching it and kissing your hand brings you a blessing? Does the scripture therein hold physical power?
Please excuse my ignorance, but I have a few questions:
1. So the blessings are flowing up? Seems like blessings would come from above and so the mezuzah should be slanted they other way. This "/" way, instead to catch the blessings from above and funnel them into the house. This"\" way would only deflect the blessings, unless they were coming up from below, right?
Thanks for this great video about how to put up a mezuzah. For those looking where to get a mezuzah check mezuzahmaster com. I'll recommend this video to people who need it.
Thank goodness Republicanism makes these rituals purely optional; I would hate to think what it would be like to live in a theocracy that would insist upon them for all its citizenry.
Colonial, Puritan New England, Saudi Arabia and Iran have or have had similar ideas; I'm glad I live in a Republic!
We are sephardic and put the Mezuzah up straight. I heard it was because in Europe the neighbors used to turn the mezuzah into a cross and that's why Ashkenazim usually afix it slanted.
yeah you MUST remember to put it on a slant, otherwise the blessings won't go into the house, got that? G-d forbid if it slants the other way benefiting the goyim over the street!
@BrooklynNotQueens if I know one thing about Chabad it's that they live "love", something which you can't relate to as is evident from your comment here and all your blogs and posting that are filled with hatred.
Very perceptive question. The placement in in the middle, so it never affects the operation of the door. In fact, if it did, the placement would not be proper. Thanks for the question.
Well thanks for the kindness lol. Now that I go and actually look at a door it makes a lot more sense, so I feel kind of silly asking it. So would you be willing to answer some questions about Judaism for it? And it's not like questions from a Christian trying to change your beleifs or anything, but questions about Jewish beliefs and how one follows Judaism.
cool im thinking about putting one on my door because God is our protection

I think that the custom is to kiss only once. If little is good, more may not necessarily be better.

I asked two question 2s. The latter question should be numbered 3 through 8.
Thanks for your patience.

and my last and most important question:
2. Would kissing it more than once give you more blessings?
Is it something you can do to bring blessings to others? If a person kissed the mezuzah once for every family member living in the house, would that make sense? By Proxy, kissing of the mezuzah, per se?

You must think I'm crazy, but I'm just curious.

Here's my second question. Again, excuse my ignorance.
2. Why should children jump to kiss it? To make kissing it something to strive to do? To make it fun?
Cute kid.

HI. Thanks for the info on the mezuzah.

Question 2. follows...

@YcantIfindaFNname A mezzuzah is a Jewish custom and gentiles such as chabad have no obligation under halacha to have one on their doors.

Chabad is a new religion very similar to Jews for Jesus. So please don't confuse these hat guys with actual Jews.
Chabad is mainly a form of xtianity and if you learn about the history of hasidism it will become obvious.

@YcantIfindaFNname
since you're a gentile hasid would you like me to give you the name of a good mohel so you can convert to Judaism and have a nice bris milah?
hasids are gentile goyim...this is fact not opinion and unrelated to emotion. were you Jewish you would understand.
