I saw this movie...I really think director/writer missed their point. ALL THE CHARACTERS WERE WALKING CLICHES, which was extremely distracting to the movie's message.
All the characters were very immature and are idealistic radicals, that are so narrow minded, they too fall into the same stigma as those who "oppress" them. To top it off, its filled with mindless montages to fill in the empty plot-to-no-where.

To be fair, I've always thought this movie was meant to portray a group of idealistic riot grrrls, complete with all of their flaws.
The movie contrasts their adrenaline-fueled attention-grabbing vandalism with the much slower, "boring", and far less-flashy style of feminism done by Courtney and her Women For Change foundation.
A lot of people seem to think the movie's a wholehearted endorsement of c(i)a-style tactics, but I saw it more as a portrayal of young feminism skidding off the tracks.
It's not a portrayal of feminism skidding off the tracks. It's a sincere portrayal of feminism scoring a serious victory. The end of the movie is confusing because it's hard to say whether the exploding penis was real in the movie or CGI in the movie (obviously it's CGI in reality). If it's meant to be real in the movie then the smack in the face of the establishment is meant to evoke sincere popcorn-bowl-flipping high fives among feminists and lesbians in the audience.
Where as at the end of Fight Club, the protagonist's actions are portrayed to be morally ambiguous. Tyler Durden is built up as the anarchist god like a heroic version of The Joker then defeated by the consumerist hamster who saves the day-but not really, and gets the girl at the end. There is no moral ambiguity about the C(i)A's tactics. It intended to be viewed as righteous from beginning to end.
I don't see how it's man-hating. It's more like 1 form of feminism taking over another. Feminism led to the sexual revolution that resulted in the modern day image of femininity and the "ideal" female body type. Quite honestly, this doesn't have a whole lot to do with men period.

I've seen the entire movie and, no. There's nothing in this movie that's anti-male. It's anti-patriarchy, which is a discriminatory system that targets women as well as men. Some people think that just because someone's a feminist, they're automatically a man-hater. This is far from the truth.
It's a good movie I'd recommend buying it. It's good to add to your movie collection and it's just awesome to contribute to films like this so that they can continue to be made rather than uploading them.
Any movie with Carly Pope AND Leslie Grossman in it has got to be worth seeing.

two comments below mine. 4 thumbs downs? think it's guys clicking that button? wrong. that's the problem with "radical" feminists, the whole of women's experience is not embraced. see, her struggle with huge tits manifests itself in physical pain, higher clothing costs, and though she didn't mention it, guess how guys treat her? whereas, the people giving her thumbs down, most likely the flat-chested, only have problems with self-image. something only in the head. and sincerely, it's 2010...

(cont.) guys are not that concerned with your lack of tits. if they are, you need to question yourself as to what the fuck kind of crowd you associate yourself with. seriously, as a guy with tons of friends, we're not obsessing on that. when you have huge tits, however, i do see guys get all gawky, (that's due to wiring actually) so guess who is actually more affected by society's gaze? that's right big-titted girls. it almost seems as if the a-cups are then only lobbying for more attention.

Out of all the movies on the market making millions with no message, why bash something so visibly positive?
Yes, it's true that some feminists only see sexism as the be all problem, when really, sexism is only a symptom, and that the real sickness is the system as a whole... but making society aware of the many faces of oppression from the system and Corporatocracy is merely step one, friends.
I suggest THE YES MEN for anyone out there that couldn't handle this all female force.

I saw this movie...I really think director/writer missed their point. ALL THE CHARACTERS WERE WALKING CLICHES, which was extremely distracting to the movie's message.
All the characters were very immature and are idealistic radicals, that are so narrow minded, they too fall into the same stigma as those who "oppress" them. To top it off, its filled with mindless montages to fill in the empty plot-to-no-where.
If I was in the LGBT community, I would be embarrassed with this movie. Epic fail.

To be fair, I've always thought this movie was meant to portray a group of idealistic riot grrrls, complete with all of their flaws.
The movie contrasts their adrenaline-fueled attention-grabbing vandalism with the much slower, "boring", and far less-flashy style of feminism done by Courtney and her Women For Change foundation.
A lot of people seem to think the movie's a wholehearted endorsement of c(i)a-style tactics, but I saw it more as a portrayal of young feminism skidding off the tracks.

It's not a portrayal of feminism skidding off the tracks. It's a sincere portrayal of feminism scoring a serious victory. The end of the movie is confusing because it's hard to say whether the exploding penis was real in the movie or CGI in the movie (obviously it's CGI in reality). If it's meant to be real in the movie then the smack in the face of the establishment is meant to evoke sincere popcorn-bowl-flipping high fives among feminists and lesbians in the audience.

Where as at the end of Fight Club, the protagonist's actions are portrayed to be morally ambiguous. Tyler Durden is built up as the anarchist god like a heroic version of The Joker then defeated by the consumerist hamster who saves the day-but not really, and gets the girl at the end. There is no moral ambiguity about the C(i)A's tactics. It intended to be viewed as righteous from beginning to end.

I don't see how it's man-hating. It's more like 1 form of feminism taking over another. Feminism led to the sexual revolution that resulted in the modern day image of femininity and the "ideal" female body type. Quite honestly, this doesn't have a whole lot to do with men period.

I've seen the entire movie and, no. There's nothing in this movie that's anti-male. It's anti-patriarchy, which is a discriminatory system that targets women as well as men. Some people think that just because someone's a feminist, they're automatically a man-hater. This is far from the truth.
