@dspence44 He speaks the truth. If you're not crashing in wakeboarding then you're not trying hard enough. A tip to those trying to do back rolls. The trick to initiating the proper spin without going off axis is to look over your back shoulder during the take off. A goofy rider doing a heelside back roll would look right while approaching the wake, then just before initiating the trick look left, over their shoulder. About half way through the spin look back to the right to spot your landing.

Raley is easier but hurt lots more. Thats why most people start of with the backroll. The crashes don't hurt at all.
