@thespennetharius: You wheren't the only one who saw teh depth of that deceptively simple, short story (and I knew next to nothing about PKD, so i certainly wasn't LOOKING for gnosticism in it or anything)! :) This movie was just special effects and atmosphere, with the implications of the book's basic premise and theme underdeveloped and diminished (and handled so farcically at the end of the picture that it was probably missed anyway).

I don't know why I like this move, it's not that special really. It may have somthing with those nasty little machines, or horrible sound they make. There ain't much to catch in the plot, yet answers are not revel straight away, and some surprises to come. Great minimalistic sci-fi.

I just had to login and post this, I'm watching Screamers 1 right now and it's just amazing, everything about the first one is fantastic. The story, the actors, this movie was totally great and stands out as one of the most imaginative sci-fi films of all time IMO. Sadly this sequel is much like that of Starship Troopers 2, basically it just stinks. I wouldn't expect much from a movie that tries imitating Tremors, they could've done so much else but they end up going back to the same planet!

it was an interesting story and the movie has a general outline to the book but there are a number of differences. if you read the running man by richard bachman ( aka stephen king ) and then watch the movie the running man with arnold swatchnegger you get about the same result. the movie had an interesting premise and expanded upon some of the thematic elements from the book and twisted the ending also.

I Came Into The World With My Legs Forward ... Classic movie I got it right away when released on DVD. I always have wandered for several years what's up with the sequel??

They were headed back to San Francisco I guess Weller and the Type 2 Screamer. This movie came out in 1995 and is perhaps the last original movie of it's kind. When I saw this I thought of movie preceding it like Project Shadowchaser 3, Shadowzone, The Dark Side Of The Moon, and even Moontrap. Cool Movie A+!! Thanks!!
