Later that game someone one thought that he wanted to avenge his team mate se he droped his gloves and took off his helmet...what did i do? droped my gloves took off my helmet punched him once in the face a took his two front teeth out...im not allowed to play next year

@Lax4Life56 well i have the highschool rule book right hear, there is no listing about a five yard spring, that is just a guidline given to refs for unnecessary roughness, he also didn't decide to make the hit till he was within 5 yards- my comment about pausing at 4 sec. his feet didn't leave the ground till after he made contact, the rule book only refers hitting someone while they are in the air not if the person hitting leaves the round.
@Lax4Life56 it was helmet to helmet however, a difficult real to abide by when your the taller player, but i will say that you are right about it being illegal, last thing to address, he didn't go offsides to make the hit, he landed offsides after the hit. before I go I also want to clarify that helmet to helmet and high hit are generally the same thing, "initiating contact too an apponents head" and are both ruled as illegal body checks on the field.
I would have to go with either cross-check or uneccessary roughness. Yes, the player was within 5 yads of the ball, but taking a 4-5 yard run at a player who is not legitimate nor allowed. At least a 2 min. penalty, in my oppinion.

He took a long running start and went directly for the other guy in order to hurt him, not to try to take the ball away from him. @fawakamaha read the rule book...you can't take more then a 5 yard spring at some one (gay i know) 2. he launched himself...in lax you can't leave your feet to make a hit...and it was also helmet to helmet...also a high hit 1 minute...1 more possibility could be that he crossed the midfield line i think to make the hit..if he didn't have anyone back then its illegal procedure....can't head hunt like that..don't get me wrong its a sick hit but illegal in many different ways..read the rulebook :)

@Lax4Life56 well i have the highschool rule book right hear, there is no listing about a five yard spring, that is just a guidline given to refs for unnecessary roughness, he also didn't decide to make the hit till he was within 5 yards- my comment about pausing at 4 sec. his feet didn't leave the ground till after he made contact, the rule book only refers hitting someone while they are in the air not if the person hitting leaves the round.

@Lax4Life56 it was helmet to helmet however, a difficult real to abide by when your the taller player, but i will say that you are right about it being illegal, last thing to address, he didn't go offsides to make the hit, he landed offsides after the hit. before I go I also want to clarify that helmet to helmet and high hit are generally the same thing, "initiating contact too an apponents head" and are both ruled as illegal body checks on the field.

I would have to go with either cross-check or uneccessary roughness. Yes, the player was within 5 yads of the ball, but taking a 4-5 yard run at a player who is not legitimate nor allowed. At least a 2 min. penalty, in my oppinion.

Definitely not a legitimate body check. That other guy had no intention of trying to get the ball. He took a long running start and went directly for the other guy in order to hurt him, not to try to take the ball away from him. That's dirty lacrosse.You can still play hard and remain fair and sportsman like. The point isn't about hitting for hitting sake. It's about the play and about taking the ball from the opposition. Not about intentionally trying to inflict injury.

As a current ref in the Mid-Atlantic (ie: Maryland and Virginia) I can see several penalties to pick from starting with - Illegal Body Check (more than a 5 yard run-up), potential Cross Check, pontential Spearing, Unnecessary Roughness (high hit)....
