her jumps, extensions, and tricks were absolutely amazing but she needs more soul, passion, real genuineness and emotion for a dancer. dancers who can move an audience with pure dance choreography and NO tricks or jumps are real dancers. she appears to be more of a gymnast than a dancer. this is my own opinion of course from a ballet dancer perspective and as everyone knows ballet technique is the base of contemporary/jazz

@LadySingBlues10 those tricks are tecknuques in contemporary dance. to do those tricks, you are a good dancer. her emotions come from her choreography. if you can do those tricks, you can do anything in contemporary dance.

@Hiphopchick2 that doesn't even make sense...first of all tricks are not technique. technique is stretching your feet, or pulling up on turns. i think she's a fantastic dancer, but emotions do not come from the choreography, they come from movement quality, facial expression etc. and your last statement is false. tricks do not mean you can dance. doing a bunch of back flips into a layout is COMPLETELY different than dancing and intuitively feeling the music.

While I feel this young lady is incredibly talented, what truly moved me is her family.

The experience I had from auditioning was my own, I could have left it a monster and mad at the world hating my life. I really wish the camera stayed on her more. It kept moving between her and the judges, which completely took away from the piece. I don't think most people watching from home could have fallen in love with her as much as the judges had because the awful back-and-forth of the camera detracted so much from the audition. As it is, I thought she was just okay.
