Grabbing a cheeky swig of pop (and I would hazard a guess it was Dandelion & Burdock) during the middle eight was the icing on the cake of this mans extraordinary talent.
Yesterdaye, me and MOMMA DAMRON went to McDONILDZ and I got some FREE CHIKKKEN NOUGATS wif a MCDONILDZ paper hat ? I think it came wif my HAPPPPEY MEAL for beieing good ? Aneyway I then wnet to my local FLEA MARKIT and I buoght some BUDDDDEY HOLLLEY adn ELVIS collables for like 5 bukcs and I even got a free JIMMEY ORION ELLIS colering book ?
Waht have you done for your ELVIS or JIMMMEY today ?
I like the way he makes it look as if he's just messing about with the keyboard and its effects, but he clearly has worked it out to the finest detail. How he manages to stay so deadpan is a mystery to me, too!!
John Shuttle worth should be absolutley massive and selling out stadiums, It's a travesty that the likes of Jimmy Carr make a fortune with their brand of tedious 5th rate Frankie Howerd euphemistic cack while J S has to endlessy tour small theatres around the country to make ends meet. I love the man,
This guy is a true genius. I was born in the same village as he came from, in sheffield. I also live very near the, Junction 31 of the M1,that he mentions in this song. I love this song. Think he's a brilliant song writer. check out, Leave my Daughter alone, vid. would love to meet him if he's looking at this. Everyone, should see and hear this guy, He'd cheer up anyone, Even my psychiatrist, whos, not feeling very good at the moment. Wonder Why ?. Thanks John, for, making me laugh so much.`
@bunwi Couldn't agree more... I'm 23 and love the guy. I actually played 'can't go back to savoury' to a mate tonight, and he didn't 'get it' at all?.. Once song i've been looking for for ages is 'cat on the roof', sang the exact same way as this one, but alas, I think that may have just been on his old radio show with Ken.
I remember this from yester-year. When he came on stage I initially wasn't at all inspired. But then he threw sweets to the audience; stroke of genius that was. My attention was henceforth undivided.
Throwing sweets at the audience ain't all it's cracked up to be. In 1983, at Pontin's holiday camp, Southport, I was in an audience of about 20-30 children who witnessed Keith Chegwin do exactly the same thing. He wasn't seen or heard of again for the next 12 years.
get him on shooting stars as the score keeper! he would be epic!!!

You either get it or you don't. You don't have the supreme say on what is funny and what isn't you know. You might be deluded.

Alan Partridge is funny, but about 75% of his comedy is derived from Shuttleworth.
