Does this mod improve those ugly shadow edges on patch 1.0.4.0? I know 1.0.6.0 fixes them, but it's unplayable for me, even though 1.0.4.0 runs smooth. If this mod helps with 1.0.4.0 then I'll download it right away.

download spark iv, the latest which supports v4.0. Then hit browse in Spark IV which will find your GTA root folder. Then if you search around in the pane at the side and scroll to the bottom. There should be some images, find vehicles.img. Then once you're opened that you'll see the car names. Hit "import" at the top and find the car "wtd" and "wft" files. Then once you've done that, hit rebuild and you're good to go! Car mods FTW
