  • This band ROCKS!!!! I was a mere teen when they came out with there first albume. I quated them in speach class "epic" my speech teacher called to me after class, atfer all the shock was cleared and he retorted with a bit of distress Mr.Preston was that appropriete to give the lyrics of that particular song, i sheepishly compromised and replyed i did not know what the meaning of the lyrics ment. u think i was hiding my innosecense?

  • @kristina591 can you please clean up your grammar a bit?....It's kind of unintelligible.

  • Listen to this song = 100 hours of hard training running in the middle of a storm. Those violins + the band = they simple kill me. Awesome song

  • YOUR MOM IS A WEIRD NAME!

  • Is the music world insane??? This is out of control classical music of the 20th century. But hey its not from a diverse band..

  • This song should've been named Epic!

  • uhhhhhhhhh....

    great song!

  • black sabbath cover

  • @professordavos wrong i was thinking of War pigs.

  • im a knob, your a knob, everyones a fuckin nob!

  • Mozart would mosh to this for sure.

    EPIC SHIT MAN!

  • @skyehoyt1971 Mike was brought up and made to play classical piano, you can tell by the songs synths and structures. I love the piona at the end of epic, and arabian dance :P

  • @rhythm2007mc Definitely one of my favorite instrumental pieces.

    Classical music is highly influential.

  • fucking beautiful

  • I saw FNM with Primus last sunday!!!! OMFG, what a show!!!!

  • @kacox0 where????? wow, you win kacox!!!!!!

  • @kacox0 your so fuckin lucky!1 I would kill to see FNM literally!! I have loved them forever!! Greatest band ever ever ever!!

  • Billy Gould, Geddy Lee, Billy Sheehan, Vic Wooten, and Les Claypool. Noone plays like those guys, noone comes close. Flea jerks off to the idea of being as good as Billy Gould.

  • In 93 I was backpacking thru europe @ age 19. I ended up in Tallin, Estonia at a 3 day Festival called Rock Summer. By chance, on the 1st day of the festival the singer of Asia (John Payne) gave me his Backstage pass after they played. For 2 more days met tons of bands, I got to hang out with Jim Martin for an hour of so, before the gig. After the gig Mike Borlin gave me his drumsticks and signed one of them. Mike Patton then screamed "GET THE FUCK OUTTA HERE!!!" Classic....LOL =D

  • @Davomatic3000 there u go mate...

  • @Davomatic3000 That's a good crazy story!

  • Still awesome. Thx for posting. DJ stole my cd years ago. Saw Mike come out of the center in Muskogee in 1989 after the show & go into his tour bus. I was about 15 ft away with some people, leaning on a light post . Next a dolled up groupie was allowed in. After about 20 min., she was basically shoved out the door, looking like "Huh?. She looked like she'd tried to put her self back together & hadn't had much time to do it. After that, more roadies got in and they left. I never laughed so hard.

  • the best band of the last 20 years.....FNM..cheers from ITALY

  • Love this song I could easily see this as the theme of a sci fi series

  • Smoked much weed to this song and even now being sober i remember why.IT FUCKING ROCKS!!!!!!!

  • Fukin loved this from the first time i heard it.I bought Epic the day it came out and never looked back

  • I wish I had a really loud stereo!

  • @IntegraTron2010 Flea and the guy from Blink 182 are the best bassists of all time.

  • @Hamgammy You actually probably should shut your fuckin' mouth about bassists because not even "the guy" from Blink 182 [since you apparently don't even know his name] would call himself a great bassist.

  • @neutronbastard umm because he's humble? dumbass

  • @Ollympusmons

This is not the place to come out of the closet. It's alright if your gay but you don't have to broadcast it.

  • @Hamgammy Neutronbastard@ Flea and the guy from Blink??? Fuck, how many bands have you heard to come to a conclusion as stupid as that. Les Claypool kid, go look in you're wikipedia so you can get to know the man

  • @Hamgammy pretty lame comment...from that BS statement do you even know that the bass has just...lets count them together 4 strings. Dude think before you speak.

  • @IntegraTron2010 wow you havent listened to a lot of music obviously

  • Énorme!!! les meilleurs !!!!

  • why does this song make me wanna drop a-bombs on my own country??? THIS SONG IS EVIL!!!!

  • I absolutely love the changing colors on the picture...goes well with this song...

  • excelente!!!

  • God I love this track. Arabic music matched with metal. Who could ask for more?

  • o -m- g this song is an explanation of an orgasm in musical form.

  • greatest-f*cking-band-ever

  • The Greatest Band In The 90´s (Thats still allive)

The Should Have Come 2 Copenhell 11.june 2010 Denmark

  • FNM does the song for dirty jobs with mike row --its a dirty job but someone has to do it, off this album he adopted it

  • If there is one song to send into outer space and let other life forms know what music is here on earth this is it.

  • @Mexilplex1000

I totally agree wit you. Maybe Orion as well.

  • Frank Zappa listens to this one from above- a heavy answer to Watermelon

    in Easter Hay!

  • faith no more is a whole lot of nothing without big jim

  • I agree. Jim needs to resurface and start kicking some ass.. now.. @jfayiii

  • since when are they underappreciated?

  • great bass line, a very under appreciated band.

  • @fatherbohab

I met them in my youth..And I LOVE them.

  • @fatherbohab Yes, I agree man. Billy Gould has been a big influence for me.

  • @fatherbohab

not enough bands that let the bass shine through like this.

  • @fatherbohab it's because of the red hot chilli peppers. anthony kiedlis used his fame to smear mike patton's name by saying he copied their style. and got mad when he saw mr.bungle mike pattons original band mocking them and making fun of them he got soooooo butt hurt he made it so mr. bungle would never get big by banning them from all sorts of festivals. MIKE PATTON IS GOD!!!

  • God I love this song. Brings back some good memories.

Sod that FNM are mainly remembered for "Epic". So much more to them.

  • if epic is playing somewhere and you ask who do you think this is ? 9 times out of 10 they say guns n roses :s

  • you have not heard of FNM? wow you have a lot of good music to catch up on. lucky you.

  • song skips in one lil part

  • awsome bass sound

  • I pictured a mighty deadful creature digging terrible holes all around

  • fuck you in your ear

  • FNM isn't the most underrated band ever, but like most bands they might be one of the most under played (except epic), but the MTV corporate machine

  • @sleepers1124

You do know that MTV used to be cool around the early to min 90's (before TRL). I remember watching FNM all the time in those days both live and Music Video. It was either Duff or Kennedy who was a huge FNM fan and would mention them whenever she had a show. After the whole Grunge debacle had ended MTV moved away from real music and went into the toilet, but FNM had heavy airplay till then.

  • Thank-you silversnipecp for posting this!! what an awsome job you did!!

  • This song has rocked my 72 VW more times than i care to count .I bought this album and my bug a week apart. When this album first hit the stands.

  • FNM epic is one of my favorite albums of all time!

  • This song is amazing. I remember being 11 years old and hearing this song and just being amazed that music could be this good both technically and emotionally at the same time. This is another song from FNM that truly inspired me musically.

  • fuk yeah!

  • This song rules. Loved it in middle school. Love it now, almost 20 years later.

  • I know it is bad ass. 20 years later

  • damn this juz as good if not better today,than18 fuckin years agoooo!

  • Only Faith no more can make a song that sounds very arabic(that violin makes it sound like that) and make it rock

  • billy gould fuckin' rules!

  • Damn right! for every bass note you hear the first time you hear the song, there's about 5 you don't catch for another seven years.

  • mf gd beest f instrumental hs dl sob mfs

  • Very good song, i love it, but its cutted in the start, and the end!!!

  • Other than epic what are faith no more's best songs?

  • They're nearly all good, but some (reasonably) accessible songs to start with are: - From out of nowhere - Underwater love - The real thing - Edge of the world - Land of Sunshine - Caffeine - Midlife Crisis - Easy - Midnight cowboy - Digging the Grave - Last cup of sorrow - Ricochet - Caralhoa Voador
  • stripsearch

  • I was going to add that. :) My favorite.

  • The title of this song fits it perfectly. It makes me think of Marvin the Martian (Looney Tunes cartoons) You know...the little Martian always trying to blow up Earth.

  • Indeed. This should be Marvin the Martian's theme tune.

  • I'm a huge Sleepytime Gorilla Museum, Estradasphbere, Fantomas, etc. fan .. and man I forgot how much I like FNM. Thanks for the reminder

  • oh yeah, this is one of my favourite songs of all the time.. sometimes i have felt myself 'floating' to another dimension, something i cannot explain. Wonderful work!

  • I wonder if this has anything to do with SC3's later work.

    Nonetheless, it's woodpecking harrrd...

  • by jim martin and cliff burton...

  • Awesome fucking song!!!!!!!!

  • This tune puts the creativity of current bands to shame. This is what metal should sound like.

  • How is this a perfect example? There are no vocals?

  • -6 for the piker bitch!

  • what a line of bass and that riffs whoaa mann!!! this it rock!!!!

  • a cover song

  • No it's not

  • ups your right its not I was posting on War pigs

  • "Woodpecker From Mars" is an instrumental Faith No More song first released in 1989 on their third studio album, The Real Thing, on which it appears as the final track for vinyl editions and was recorded prior to the hiring of Mike Patton. It was later released in 1992 as a live bonus disc on limited edition French pressings of Angel Dust. It shares its title with a 1956 Woody Woodpecker cartoon.

  • Their best tune.
