All they didn't tell you is that for drivers over 6 ft. tall, the oversized center console intrudes into the drivers leg area and actually interferes with the operation of the gas pedal. Note that the Scion xD, which is smaller, actually has a smaller better shift console that is not intrusive. Honda has designed the Element and CRV to avoid the problem, as well.

@XMajorasMaskX Just test drove it today, in my opinion it was very stable. It does seem like its gonna take some getting used to, but once you do, you'll love the way it rides.

@XMajorasMaskX It does not feel like it will tip. In fact if youre taking a sharp corner such as an on cloverleaf on ramp at about 50 you will feel the understeer prompting you to lift off the gas. There are a number of choices from TRD to improve the handling even further.

@04smallmj I don't think she meant to call it small, just saying that's the only option you get. Either way the engine is a good one, and possibly you could add some speed by using parts from the TC as if I recall correctly, the engines are based around the same block.

I do like the first generation a lot more though mainly due to the size increase with this model.

aside from the looks the best thing this cars offers is dependability and value you can get a 2009 for about 13,000 or so with low mileage a best buy in this economy, MPG could be better but still not that bad i recommend this car for first time buyers and money savers

@coolbluelights You actually have tons of visibility aside from the blind spot she mentions. When I roll down the windows in the summer time, I almost feel like I'm in a convertible due to the high roof line and loads of visibility. Test drive the car for fun sometime. You'll see what I mean.

As a family car with only one son, you're looking at a great buy. This car is WELL equipped and there is an impressive amount of room. Not to mention, with side airbags and more safety features than the previous generation, you are a lot safer in this car. It scored perfect scores in all 3 tests of the IHS. It's faster, sleeker, and stronger than the original, so I'd definitely recommend it.

If you're looking for a family car get a car. A car will give you excellent gas mileage. If you're looking for an affordable SUV get something else. This one leave it on the shelf IMO. Poor gas mileage of an SUV without the high seating of an SUV or the space of an SUV. Also ugly styling and cheap interior in my opinion.

I bought mine last Friday and it's 100 percent better that the previous version that I traded in. The gas mileage is not as good but the ride, room and extra power makes up the difference plus they sold it to me at base price even with the $1800 worth of options.

I have A and B pillar creak .The dealer fixed the A pillar but they messed up the fender so I dont want them to touch my car anymore. Now it has gotten worse in the B pillar side that it drove me nuts since its just right behind my ear. The problem is prevalent on the 08 models ..a lot of us had the same problem.
