  • I luv this sonq but I like joan jetts verison bettter

  • If you told me in 1969 that Dolly was going to record C&C I would have been rolling on the floor laughing

  • Memories of last summer

  • i'm 36, not attracted to women cause i'm not straight, and have no idea what my car's bumper is made of. but this song rocks.

  • They left the reverb button in the ON position for this recording......

  • @boylover141 Well, we never get what we want and it's probably a good thing. Personally, I wish I had been born in 1851, not 1951--100 years before the advent of rock-n-roll and other frivolities. But "it is what it is" and I was born 100 years later than my preference. I'm a product of my times and so I do enjoy Tommy James!

  • One of my all time favorite songs ever.

  • baker 2g andrew reynolds!

  • The long version of this song defines the entire short-lived genre of psychedelic rock. Thanks,

TJ & S. The song will live forever...

  • .........One of the good memories from a difficult time.....Thanks!!

  • Nostalgic and good memories...always has been and always will be a great make out song. chicks just dig it.

  • I was around 14 when this song first came out! Oh, the memories! Me and my ex, my childhood sweetheart, tearing it up in his classic Ford Fairlane. Hangin with the other Dudes, with their fast cars. Going to the golden arches for a burger, makin out at the drive in! Those were the days. Greatest music the world will ever know from the 60s!

  • Beautiful music is beautiful music no matter what era or genre. Just sit back and groove. Be happy, and love the one you with. Can't get any better than that.

  • Ok guys, obviously you don't get it. The song means nothing about sex or drugs. Tommy James (lead singer) simply woke up one morning and thought of his favorite color: Crimson, and favorite flower: Clover. And he knew that was what he wanted the title of his next song to be, even before the song had any written lyrics. I know because my dad is close friends with Tommy. :)

  • When this came out I always thought it was way ahead of its time. Futuristic sounding because it was unique at that time.

  • Lov this song

  • if only music was like this now a days... i would love to stroll into a club and see people havin a boogie not grinding with their gun fingers in the air! o well a man can dream, a man dream.

  • @SolutionDDMC I consider myself among the lucky ones to have gotten to hear the music of the 60's on that old time AM home/car radio as it was being made/released.there is no going back and that is a shame. :+{ I still remember the first new school buses with radios',the old blue birds.now that was liven

  • @wyattthefu I am right there with you only my school bus didn't have a radio.... only Mr. Owens who would throw things back at us when we were screwing around.....

  • One of the best songs of that generation and still great! :o)

  • im 56 and this music is back when women were straight and chrome on bumpers was thick.

  • @777superdad triple plated chrome

  • @777superdad thats how my Dad always talked when i was a kid..haha always told me about the old days....

  • @777superdad i'm 19 and listen to this song everyday at my work.

i live in a strange time where women make out on eachother and bumpers are made of plastic :p

  • @bearblaster420 women have always been making out w. each other you just didnt know it obviously...lol.Women have been faking orgasms w. men forever!!!LMAO @ clueless peeps.

  • @777superdad Im 25 and envy you

  • @777superdad HA!!Women were faking orgasms back then and some still do.You have no clue dude...lol..sooo funny.

  • What the shit, is this Joan Jett's version? Good spotting *rolls eyes*

  • This song melts mind. At 4:20, they still have more to give us. One of the many many many great songs of the 1960s - best decade music has ever seen.

  • @britishwisejake do you know where 4:20 came from or when it first appeared

  • @britishwisejake ,maybe because people wanted to change the world with their music, not make stinking money.but that did not last long and most of the bastards got greedy and fat but kept doing drugs to escape, not expand.

  • vou amar pra sempre esta musica.....bons tempo,é pra ouvir bem alto som,,degustando um bom vinho,,e viajar a mente...............q bom

  • Divasweets put that crack pipe down. Its making you go crazy.

  • What the fuck is that chick talkin about *2 comments down* HAAAAAAA

  • @WuNdAfRiEnD lol! She is talking about Beyonce (B) and Jay Z (J). I thought it was the other BJ for a second! Ay. They are talking about Blue Ivy's birth (their daughter) and how extra security was "required" at the hospital, when she was being born. It sounded like a rant, to me. :-)

  • They need to leave b and j and baby blue the hell alone there famous they needed that extra security they just mad they didn't need none trying to get some damn money out of them j tell em 4 they get they muffin cap knocked back BLUE! !!!!!!! n my uncle Richard Jr voice (Kevin Hart voice)

  • who doesn't love this man, awesome ;)

  • Outstanding song - won't ever get old!!

  • Motherfucker.... I had no idea that all of Joan Jett's hit songs were freaking covers. I have infinitely less respect for that woman as of now.

  • @RAR1138

Careful, now, you're going to make me cry :`(

  • Intoxicating version ! *

  • thank you for your email on my great loss..

  • This is the best jamm ever.. Commentn n comn frm cali l.a

  • I love the 20's 50's 60's70's 80's some 90's..and dread the new Milenium!!!

  • @filipinobean so true.... and so depressing... I wish all these phukkin hip hop artists would just shoot each other and die... Give me my Doo Wop, Rock and Roll, Rockabilly, English beat music, psychedelia, Best of the 60s, 70s, Floyd/Tull/Zeppelin, some metal, grunge, best of the 80s... and the rest of them can go jump in a lake. Thank god for Eric Johnson, Satriani, Dream Theater...etc etc...some people are still making the good stuff.

  • @BloxorzWizard lol 2 hip hop artists died in the 90s you fkin lame..... I believe guns and people shooting eachother was around before hip hop, your mild passive racism is fun though yes?

  • @saintcharlezful

Ah, yes, if you don't like hip hop, you're a racist. Brilliant logic, friend.

  • @saintcharlezful Apparently you can't read idiot lol. I don't care how many of them died shooting each other... it's not enough. If I was a racist, I don't think that I'd be driving 24 miles to Inglewood every Monday and Friday night to play table tennis with the brothers in the hood... your logic doesn't hold water fool. I just don't like rap or the morons that make or produce it, white, black, brown, yellow or any color you choose.... period.

  • @BloxorzWizard Lol look I hit a nerve with the Grand Wizard hahahaha, I'll call you Michelle Pfeiffer helping out the hood and all, lol what a flaming fag

  • this song will never get old!!!!

  • Heartt<3 & Soul A Forever Favorite

  • The three at the top have some pretty sweet 'fros.

  • @VAB0L0 Yes, and they must be wearing capes too... -.-

  • @VAB0L0 LOL. thats not part of their hair, just part of the structure behind them

  • @TTibble It's hard to read verbal irony on the Internet, isn't it? :P

Yes, I was well aware that it was the arcs they were standing in front of that gave the illusion of sweet 'fros and capes. Or halos and angel wings.

  • @TTibble LOL I know better but I think it gives them the appearance of having affros that are helping hold the building up.

  • @VAB0L0 That's so funny! The background makes them look like thy have fros...LOL

  • @VAB0L0 Get your eyes checked son.... those are holes in the wall behind them....

  • @VAB0L0 They don't actually, that is just a shadow. Look closer.

  • @VAB0L0 you know those 3 don't actually have fro's right?

  • @VAB0L0 the guy on the left is kinda punked out or something cause he somehow managed to get most of his fro off to one side

  • @VAB0L0 Hahaha those aren't fro's there the back ground of the arch!!! Funny though!!

  • @Shar3735 You are right, it does look like it.Those were the days of music, now its all garbage.

  • Hey, us boomers have more life in us. We're gonna make a lot more happen -- for better or worse.

  • Yep, one more round and us "boomers" will be dead.

  • the best part from this wonderfull song begins up 4:15 ........geil

  • @Zobeida555 Yup.

  • No doubt

  • they could make this song 2 hours long and it would still be too short.

    LOVE IT.

  • This song was before I knew what Love was all about, but I could listen to it again and again!!

  • That's weird...My copy of this song drops down slightly in pitch right at 1:57. The first eight rapid "plucks" are in tune while the second eight are slightly flat. Then the solo is in tune with the new, lower pitch, before the tune snaps back up into the original pitch for the last verse. This version here on YouTube seems to have "fixed" that.

I always thought that it was an intended "psych" effect, just a slight "mind-warp" thing. But Wikipedia says it's due to a patch job of diff parts.

  • seen joan jetts version and yup shes pretty but this original song gives me a different breeze as if life was still simple, beautiful like in the morning you'd smell the grass meadows, and at night, youd here the croaking of the frog while you're sitting in the park with your girlfriend holding hands..those were the wonder years!

  • those were the dazes!! when we where all kids.

  • How come no 14 year olds like me listen to this music! This song is just fantastic!

  • @cdude1313 i do im 15

  • @cdude1313 There are a lot of young people your age as well as people my age into the oldies. On most videos I see comments like "I'm only 19 but I love these songs", so you'll find a lot of people, especially nowadays, who agree with you.

  • Was it my sister or five brothers? I am lost somewhere between Sonny and Cher and Train

  • @BrainDeadChanle ur name says it all

  • just watched" boat that rocked",this song was in it.you had to be there to feel it x

  • I LOVE IT!

  • My top ten of all time

  • great classic song, one of the all time greatest songs but I never heard it until I seen Monster with charlize theron

  • Best song ever for making love

  • the last 60 seconds belong to the nicest parts in rock music ever

  • Too cool!

  • 60s is better than 80s for sure

  • @Vettejocke without the 60s revival in the 80s, it's likely I wouldn't have known about this music.

  • @Vettejocke yup

  • Comment removed

  • @Vettejocke And 18 is better than 60.

  • Im hoping that this is the version with a pair of distinct guitar solos- A fuzzy surf sound, and some flea picking- This might be the cut that has been remastered-

  • Incense and peppermints!

  • @75VWhippy: lol that is usually how I learned as well. cut outs!

  • This is far better than Joan jett's version .

  • i remember back in the early 1980's playing my mom's and dads 45's and 33's of there music they got back in the 50's and 60's and 70's

  • Great Classic!!!

  • what is that

  • I was a little song when this song came out, but, it has endured as one of my very favorite songs. The lead singer was hot, too.

  • joan jett!

  • <3 this gives me a natural high <3

  • Excellent song to get a buzz on with

  • wow.

  • loved this song back in the days, but very good song to listen to thank you Tommy James.

  • Im calling bullshit on 75VWhippy. Just another thumbs up whore.

  • My favorite version here, I don't care for joan jet's version.

  • SOA does rock, but I rocked this song long before SOA!!!!

IDK what age has to do with liking a song? But I'm 21 and the 60's/70's and few 80's is my era. I was born in the wrong era!!

  • Back in the day Crimson and Clover was Drugs just like Rick James song Mary Jane is about smoking weed Lol.

  • God, this reminds me of 7th grade school dances!

  • One of my first '45s ... memories

  • Thanx for the full album version. The True Oldies channel only gives us the lame single version. God bless ya, for the post. Have a blessed weekend!

  • who is the woman

  • No its not Joan Jett. Quiet Whippersnapper.

  • this is one of those songs you dont mind having stuck in your head =]

  • People who dislike this have no clue....

  • Umm, isn't this JoanJett??

  • @meri7361 How dare you.

  • @meri7361 NO

  • @meri7361 No, this is the original. She did a cover in the 80's.
