Elites are normally hard to kill on your own but the best way is to simply kite them to death with dots and fear, they go do much easily.

Hey, I have a 40 BE warlock too! and you have my sam hairstyle!

Okay I cant tell what robe you have but go to ratchet and collect warlock quests from there, one of teh quests gives you a really good robe. Gte rid of teh staff you have and get the Gnargled staff from WSG.

nice job,though ive soloed him at 41,best teqnique is to put all dots on him make sure your pet maintains aggro(ofcoarse VW)dont use Shadow Bolt, its drains mana to easly,fear if u pull aggro and it engages u, thats when u drop all spell and wait 7 -12 sec till VW takes aggro keep dots on, and life tap if under 1000 mana and life drain till health is high then keep dots and u should pull it off
