That mMachamp probably had the No Guard ability that has been introduced in Generation IV it makes all moves used by the Machamp NEVER miss meaning even if the opponent digs a hole or fly up it will hit him

I don't think he was referring to the nicknames, but you're right that they were inspired by Mega Man. All of my Pokémon were named after the special weapons from Mega Man 1.

We've got Hyper Bomb (Empoleon), Super Arm (Machamp), Rolling Cutter (Garchomp), Thunder Beam (Magnezone), Ice Slasher (Weavile) and Fire Storm (Charizard). I know Empoleon doesn't explode, but I really wanted it to work out and he was the only one left so... he got the name.

just a suggestion.

remove shadow claw from weavile because it super effective on ghosts and on psychic pokemon which dark attacks are also.

i suggest replace it with brick break/ aerial ace or X-scissor.

the type of the attack would have nothing to do with the fact that it's FLYING, l0lzowned already gave a good answer, one that makes sense, you've assumed that it got hit due to element, but it would seem in this case, any attack from machamp would have hit due to it's ability.

you got to remember the ability "NoGuard" makes

All of Machamp's attacks and any attack targeting Machamp treated as having perfect accuracy and do not check accuracy and evasion. If Machamp or the Pokemon Machamp is targeting uses Protect or Detect, the attack will hit the target, but it will only have its normal accuracy. im not sure of 1-Hit-KO attacks but you can hit 100% with normal attacks :)

machamp would be 1 of the best pkmn if you could make him learn Fissure, crosschop, Dynamicpunch and Superpower.

since dynamicpunch would hit 100% of time and would confuse 100% of the time, Crosschop would be just good move like spuerpower too and fissure would be 1hit ko but still it would have 18 pp at max (i think)

Machamp's special ability, "No Guard" makes every single attack connect, no matter what the circumstances may be (excluding moves that have no effect on certain types, normal to ghost for example).

This includes flying and digging. No one is safe.

I'm one of those "pros" who EV and IV trains all of his Pokemon so I rarely watch videos for fear of seeing terrible battles. The last one was pushing it (Hyper Beam? Seriously?) but this one was a bit better.

Well I'm honored that a "pro" would concider this to be a decent battle... too bad that we were just playing for fun. EV training does make a huge difference in raising Pokémon, but it's too time consuming for someone who's just in it for fun.

I don't think I'll ever do EV training, even if I know what it can do for my team.

EV training isn't THAT time consuming if you know what to do and what spots to hit up. I really felt like I learned more about the battle system and how the games have REALLY evolved (heh) over the years. For me, the battle system never gets old but I can see how someone would be turned off by it.
