Nice video. I captured the same view early in my astrophotography days and was somewhat confused at what I was seeing. I thought I was picking up space debris. I asked one of my mentors, and he explained how the Orion Neb tends to 'ascend' through the Clarke belt in the early spring. I have the video I compiled from my stills somewhere, maybe I'll post them as well.
is this real footage ? thanks for answering my questions about astronomy binoculars on your other vids. i had seen some of your other vids on here but did not know they were yours. awesome!
@Zeethr Yes, it is real 100%. But you need to take long exposure subframes of 30 seconds each one, to get so many faint stars and details in the video.
@CumputerPhysiscsLab I've been using tungstun white balance for the sky lately. It makes the sky appear blue instead of brown where there's lots of light pollution. Interesting vid though. I didn't realize a 300mm lens would zoom in that much.
what time of year did you capture this and also ow many subs or total time did it take Thanks Fellow Astrophotgrapher

@astrofranck True, but I was imaging near the city lights and no filters. Next time I will try with darker skies.
