Thought that was kinda awesome, been looking at a new 18-22 ton excavator i could put a harvester head on and use on the deck while still building roads when i need too. heard the kobelcos suffer from rapid pin and bushing wear and hydraulic cooling issues... ???
dosent the harvester wheigh a bit much when its got a tree in it wont the machine be bobbing back and fourth because we are builders and we find that 6 ton zero tail machines bobing with only a bucket on when digging
It has its limits at full reach in terms of what size of tree it will handle but within reasonable reach it will easily handle the head's full capacity. Purpose built harvesters behave the same way. It's true it would be more stable if it wasn't a zero tail swing but that would be a major problem working in thinnings. The zero tail swing is by far the best option in my opinion
When you say handsome looking mechanic you actually mean ugly fumbling fool..... only kidding. Reckon you could do it a lot quicker without the stage fright!

he's no operator, theres more chance of him knocking a tree over than cutting one down!!
