  • Hey, does anybody know the name of the first song?

  • im like this video but im just curious of some of the prices back then?

  • Ummm...2:02 is how to become the most POPULAR kid in highschool :P

  • this video should have been titled; "101 ways to get your ass kicked"!!!

    LOL......

i enjoyed watching this but i sure would have loved to see more pictures & less writing/typing.

  • Nice video. Next time, cut out the commentary and stick with the photos - they speak for themselves.

  • @000SMITH000 I don't agree.. the comments were hell of fun to me

  • the 70's had a lot to answer for

  • LOL I loved the comments actually - you are very funny! And those fashions? Yikes! I don't remember wearing ugly stuff like that but I do remember the awful catalogue clothes. I am guilty of still having a toilet seat cover and matching mat though. Well...I am getting old and senile after all. LOL

  • so glad all thats not in the one now lol thats everything my grandma keeps looking for me and my brother to wear lollll xD

  • The guy with chest hair is hot!

  • OMG! My mom had those toilet covers, in RED. They made the water tank "sweat". So funny. Thanks for reminding me. lol

  • Way too slow - great material, crappy video. Less commentary, more photos - or the commentary slides should be quicker... people read fast.

  • This is absolutely HILARIOUS !!!

    GREAT JOB. :)

  • I remember ordering my boreing school clothes from one of those catalogs.

  • I am having a really bad day.....I needed SOMETHING to make me smile....thank you for giving that to me today!! :) This was hilarious!

  • TOO MANY WORDS. Cut the crap and just show the pictures. They are funny. The words are not.

  • Omg, I just watched your video on the People History site, and laughed myself into an asthma attack! Thanks for the memories:-D

  • Brilliant. Simply Brilliant!

  • UGLY?!! You gotta get your eyes checkd this fashion is OFF THE HOOK!!! The 70s styles kick ass!! My whole closet is 70s I love these clothes! Polyester rules! You all dig?! Wish everyone could dress like this again, especially men!

  • LMFAO! I love this video!! I have a J.C. Penny catalog from 1975. But I bought it at a flea market in PA. I'm totally fascinated with stuff from the 70's. It's so ugly and creepy! I was born in 1977, and I'm so glad I did't have to wear those dorky clothes back then, lol.

  • LOL Oh my gosh is this funny! hahaha! The commentary is gut-wrenchingly hilarious!

The "All purpose jump suit" Bahahahaha!

    Thanks for posting this!

  • ugly? I like it.

  • LOL thanks for sharing

  • This was a hoot! Even so, when we look through a 2009 catalog in 2030 it'll be just as funny. See? The fun never stops!

  • Oh, man! Haven't laffed this hard in ages!

  • Well done except more pic's are needed & less comments..... good effort tho...

  • I like the overall video - you hit gold when you found that old catalogue. However, I think it could have been edited and speed up a bit more with a few more pictures.

Thanks for the smile - I remember some of my fashion faux pas of that era! The worst was too much seersucker and polyester! Yikes!!

  • @hecate55 Glad you enjoyed it! However, much as I'd love to take credit for the original blog, I can't - I just made it into the video. There is a link to the original in the description - the author gave me permission to do this video.

  • I just laughed so hard, I think I peed a little at my desk.

  • Not that funny - it moves too slow. Most of us can read faster than a snail. More images, less time on stupid text would make it more funny.

  • Lighten up there, SpeedRacerReader...

  • Wait....My eyes are tearing up from non-stop laughter!

  • This all went well with shag rugs. My parents had a shag rug rake to keep their volcanic orange colored rug all fluffed up.

  • Heha ho ho ho~

  • that is funny, but a lot of that stuff was fashionable back then.

  • yay! give it up for Terry Cloth matching onesies for adults

  • This is the reason the war on drugs happened! Designers of this stuff did allot of LSD! This is a great video!

  • hey dont laugh, i remeber those days im telling my age i would make a pair of bell bottoms every friday take them to the dry cleaners ask for heavy on the starch they would stand by them self those were the good old days

  • YES!!!! MORE!!!

  • TOO FUCKING LONG.

  • I love the orange adult onesie the guy is wearing

  • What's the name of the model wearing the brown polyester short sleeved shirt with the scarf, shoulder length hair and sexy smile in this catalogue?

  • lol 1:33, and that belt is b*tch*ng!

  • I was only two years old in 1977, but I couldn't take the fashion even back then. It literally gave me the creeps. :)

  • totally awesome, i was born in 72, but yeah that seventies fashion was some bull!

  • Well Done! Bravo!

  • Awesome! I was looking for something to make me laugh and this did it!! Funny pics and even funnier commentary. This was so fun to watch- thanks for putting it up here!

  • OMG! the barrels dinning room set is the most hideous yet hilarious thing I have ever seen., it looks like it was ready for the Brady Bunch.

  • I also remeber looking thru the Dept. Store catalog with my grandmother coordinating and wishing for different outfits, marking the pages. Forgot about how "cool" it was supposed to be for couples to have matching shirts.I remember my parents having matching shirts and also matching jackets. Most of the older men in my family wore the orange jumsuit to do yard work in, working on the car ,etc. Love the home furnishings lol !

  • Hey,i'd still like to wear the terry-cloth jumpsuit(white)near the end.......

  • Thanks! What a trip back in time! My wonderful Grandmother would bring the Sears and Penney's catalogs over when I was in school and have me choose several outfits each for, spring, summer, winter and fall. I graduated from high school in 1977 and rememeber some of the kids dressing like this - I was far too cool to wear those things, though! haha

I wish I could sit with my Grandmother again and go through the catalogs.... I really miss her.

  • In the early 70s, I actually had a shirt, pants, and belt similar to that first maroon outfit you showed. Things like that were so normal back then that you didn't risk getting your ass kicked for wearing them. What got you ridiculed in those days was having hair too short.

  • Awesome!

    LOL!

  • You needed to show more girl outfits but this helped me thanks!

  • bravo! really nicly done!
