At first I thought it was a duet ('cause the keyboard was separated into 2 pieces--sorry I don't play the game, haven't before) and I'm like, "man. The person on the left side's got it easy!" Ha ha. I can not BELIEVE that this is for one person. That's disgusting.
this song is pretty insane on pop'n the bpm is like 263-200 and i have only played the 35 and its all stream and i got a full combo on it. but i to afraid to try the ex cause i can pass 40's but i think it will kill me.
Does anyone know where you can get Keyboardmania Yamaha Edition? You can't buy it anymore and I can't even find it anywhere online to download it. :*(
Yeah. This game actually teaches people how to play piano well (save for sight-reading sheet music and velocity control), but it's a shame Bemani never kept up with the series...
Well, considering the high level of many IIDX players, you'd think they'd like to try KM for a while because then you can play your favorite songs on a real piano! and not just plastic keys in an arcade :) If you're mid to high tier in IIDX the learning curve in KM is pretty easy no?
I just tried running DoReMi and it doesn't work, I read somewhere it's not compatible with XP! is this true? :(
I can understand that reading these notes would be v.difficult for a piano player but for us that play IIDX and can't read sheet music this is highly preferable IMHO, my primary goal is to learn quasar on a real synthesizer.
by the way DoReMi is the freeware PC version of KM, I can see you're playing the PS2 version.
There is also KeyboardMania Yamaha Edition (KMYE) which can play any midi file you throw at it and supports key-lighting on several yamaha pianos, it's also quite graphically enhanced and supports hidden/sudden etc.
It was however discontinued and is very hard to find now which is crazy because it's the best version of the 4! (Arcade, PS2, Doremi, KMYE)
Also, I've tried DoReMimania before. While it has the ability to play beyond 3 octaves, it most certainly looks ugly, not to mention a bit hard to set up for complete beginners.
I got about half way through this once and then my hands died. Then again I also play it with the same hand formation I do with IIDX......im sure if i played it as a real keyboard it wouldnt hurt as much but still hurt like hell.
I can play a bit of this on an actual piano. The keyboard mania version is very similar to the real versions, except that it has you playing basslines that you wouldn't be doing on the piano. It's by no means impossible; the version used for DDR is a live recording.
It does. The great thing about KBm is that you're playing a true instrument with the correct layout during the song (albeit, a synthesizer of sorts), unlike Guitar Freaks/Hero or IIDX.
True. Unfortunately, nothing quite gets it correct other than playing a real piano, drumset, etc. Adding a velocity/volume score to each note in DM or KBM would be overkill, anyway.
As it has been said, those who play the instrument this is based on, and play it well will do well in the game. Others will have difficulty. Perhaps they could use this to help interest people in the real deal?
AAAHHH... RIDICULOUS , at 1st i no this song was in DM/GF after that ddr , after that beatmania IIDX , wth even KBM? dis song famous . wait.. wana ask u a question . do KBM haf timepiece phase 2? if has it the same as 100 secs GAWD!
Unfortunately, KBM 'died' on its 3rd Mix (which was able to session with GF5/DM4, and even GF6/DM5, I think, which was the height of Least 100's fame). Timepiece 2 for GF/DM came out long after KBM stopped production. I wish KBM would have a revival, it has so much potential, but the learning curve is definitely difficult. However, with harder IIDX's and PnM's out, it wouldn't be so bad.
I bet someone's done it already for Doremimania. I have a piano concerto simfile or two on that already, I think one has like 3400 notes which is crazy but awesome.
Can we add Kakumei (based from Chopin's Revolutionary Etude), Children's Sketchbook (based from Bach's Jesu, Man of Joy's Desiring), No. 13 (based from yet another Bach piece), Timepiece phase II, Akai Suzu, Boogie Train '03, while we're at it?
For a while there, I thought the people below were talking about Reflec Beat.
I might use this as reference and try to learn the thing on keyboard.

@RIVEXNGLE The least 100 sec is never ever going to be on RB. RB cant handle the notes of the least 100. Not ever.

I want this song for Rock Band 3 Rock Band Network 2.0 DLC.
Someone get on RBA and chart this song when Rock Band 3 is released.
It'll scare the hell out of everyone!

tanteishoryu 1 year ago
I don't know, I'm not playing via MIDI. I'm playing the PS2 version using the Konami keyboard controller for it, which is a USB device.
Xythar 1 year ago
Well, I would say someone had to play it at Konami... A standard pianist is capable of playing this song.

theres hardly even any keyboardmania players anymore. everyone switched to beatmania.
ghostfire1234 3 years ago
really?? why would they have switched?
I'm thinking about switching from beatmania to keyboardmania.
NicolXIX 3 years ago
1.keyboardmania wasnt that appealing to the konami franchise fans.
2.if ever songs were to be made in the level of songs such as scorpion fire and such songs, itll be inhumanly possible.
3.the learning curve is more agonizing, people would prefer the notes on a note chart that is read rather than seeing going down in many keys.
4.keyboardmania is still around in japan but its not very well given attention to most players.
ghostfire1234 3 years ago

no, if doubles in bm was kinda of hard then consider playing this. the feeling of playing keyboardmania will feel like 4 bm controllers.
also reading the notes is the biggest difficulty factor of the game.
as for doremi? i never heard of it. sorry i cant help you with that.

If I were to learn the song, I could probably play that fairly easily.
Play some shit like Fur Elise (full version = 64th and 32nd notes); that's hard.
