  • i love any old tractor, farmall, deeres, olivers, all, respect anything u have to restore!!!!!!!!!!!

  • what year was the fair? i might have been there! haha I'd love to do this, i love tractors in general. But the old ones have always been my favorite! Are y'all local?

  • Just about to blow the engin

  • them john deeres are slow

we got a 77 that has 220 hp we pull in the 4500 Division IV class

  • I sure thought it was gonna blow the pistons clean out of it when it got to smoking so bad! Nice job on the build, and next time, only put half the amount of oil in the air cleaner that it calls for. My wife's JD A and B will both full pull, and so will my Farmall H and Super M. I know, a house divided and all that ... but we have fun just trying to beat each other!

  • Im suprised that the front end did not come off the ground when he enagage the clutch like most of the A and G do.

  • IM SUPRISED THE FRONT COME OFF THE GROUND WHEN HE ENGAGED THE CLUTCH LIKE MOST OF THERE DO

  • I'm very suprised the front didn't come off the ground untill the last My family has a 1948 JD A it never pulled the sled that good it always LOST POWER and died with the front end on the ground. Why is that A burning so much oil

  • (I'm very suprised the front end didn't come off the ground when he engaged the hand clutch like they all do at the pulls at an idle.) My family has a 1948 A we used on the farm and i do have to say it runs good. LOL! we have a set of hub mount buals for it as a funny but when we pulled the sled it only pulled it haif way down AND LOST POWER compared to the other A at the pull. Why is this A burning so much oil.

  • It's a 1951 Model A. I should know, my twin brother is the one pulling her.

  • hi folks the tractor in this vid is eather a 48 or 50 john deere A I have a john deere 1948 A and pull it also this guy has to adjust the load jet on the carb and she might not smoke that bad, cool pull

  • Thats awesome!! Nothings better than J.D.

  • Fantastic example of why JD had no equal during that 1950s. No other tractor could lug down that low and still continue to pull.

  • this is my fav vid, awesome!!

you say took a big gulp of oil, but only one stack is smoking, is there a filter for eack cyl then?

  • the stack behind the one in the front is the intake the one in the front is the exaughst, i should know i have a tractor with the same set up, its a 1941 john deere b

  • its a model 70

  • Nothing runs like a deere<3

  • john deere 730???

  • fuck no not even close..

  • what model is that? i got 1941 jd B and just starting to restore a jd 50

  • Ive got a John Deere 1952 B and a rare late series John Deere 1955 50 with the 520 series yellow stripes. Both restored.

  • nice JD my boss me and his son just redid a model 60 added the finishin touches last night

  • ...who needs a bulldozer... that looks like it does the trick juuuust fine.

  • john deeres got the power she just hit that soft dirt

  • nice pull with the problem

  • good pull i have to agree with fordjohndeere's suggestion

  • nice pull man but id say you definitly need to turn down the load needle. it'll have more power if it isn't drownding itself in fuel lol i have a '51 JD A i pull with. now u need a 4 in. straight pipe to add some bark :)

  • that was awesome

  • sorry to hate, but the littler ones... went to 275 ft.... ya know... and thats bigger so it could have a better engine to... lol

  • that was cool! Do you know what the total weight you were pulling?

  • No, I don't. The amount of the weight on the pad gets heavier as the box slides up.

  • thats some sick shit!!!

  • alot of torQue there :) nice job

  • Nothing again I say nothing is better than John Deere! Deere Rocks!!!

  • that was one of the best pulls i have sean a deer do. but no ofence i am a farmall person cause own a 1952 farmall M and she is a butty.

  • my step-dad grew up with Farmalls so we have lively discussions all the time concerning green and red tractors :-)

  • Nice pull. My wife's uncle died fooling around on one of these when he was nineteen. The tractor rolled on him and crushed him. I hate new John Deeres but these old girls were good tractors.

  • Unfortunately that happens. Especially with the narrow front tractors like this one on hillsides.

  • gotta love the old john deere's my dads got 4of them all old two cylinders like this one he's restoring them though

  • Is this Warren County in VA?

  • no, it's warren county in OH

  • Don't feel sorry for these old tractors. They love getting out there and showing off every once in a while.Gets the cobwebs out of the engine.

  • work is one thing, tractor pulls are another. I agree, can't help but feel sorry for the ol girl.

  • Nice restoration and very impressive. Can't help feeling sorry for the old girl tho.

  • actually I didn't do any restoration, she's how I bought her. sorry? she was made to work and still does well 56 years later. let's see if today's machines do as well 56 years from now. :-) thanks for the comment

  • wat class was this in? did you ease up on the gas when it got 2 pullin harder?

  • this was in 2 plow new. no, I didn't ease up on the gas. thanks for the comment

  • thats is the way it's done.

  • i love pulling those... so fun..

  • What is that an old A or B?

  • it's a 1951 model A

  • did he almost made it?

  • KOOL! me and my brothers love John Deere!

  • Nothing sounds like the JD 2cylinder Engines i love it and good pull

  • Nothing sounds like a Deere

  • lol just dont want to stop^^

  • thats top speed is it?

  • no, they usually make you pull in first gear. which in this case is 1.5MPH

  • Well first does giveyou the most torque.

  • the problem is that it's TOO low and causes me to spin out all the time

  • spin out? you mean the rear wheels right?

  • yep. i've tried tire pressure as low as 10 pounds. only other thing would be to go to wider tires, but they wouldn't look quite right. and i'd like to leave it looking as original as possible. so i have to live with it.

  • LOL, yeah I'd say a bad case of indigestion. I thought she was gonna blow. John Deere's the best tractor out there. I love the old one's and the 2 cylinder sound.

  • those old 2 bangers sound good to me

  • NOTHING RUNS LIKE A DEERE

  • BUT, NOTHING SMELLS LIKE A JOHN!

  • Nice smoke show! Damn that Deere just wouldnt quit!

  • BTW Did you win the pull and what other tractors were pulling .

Again great pull I wouldn't well that tractor of any price LOL

  • i pulled 191' that day. i believe the winning pull was 245'. i was elated none the less.

  • What year is your A John Deere? My dad's got a 1952 late model A. He's never shown it, it needs a new paint job. All he used it for was to bush-hog with, and did a little plowing with it.

  • this one is a 1951

  • Love those old putt putt's .

  • nice, must of gotten quite alot of oil

  • Chugging oil and smoke and STILL GOING!

About 50 years ago, the Energizer Bunny gave up on this tractor, but she still goin!!!!!!!

    A 1951 A model.......Either Moline or Minneapolis, can't remember...

  • Looked like you solved an overly rich condition about half way through the pull. How did you do that?

  • the problem is that it took a big chug of oil from the air cleaner so it was burning oil.

  • they were mad e to run on kerosene......and why did you have enough oil in the cleaner to make it smoke that much.....you only need it damp....not soaking....

good pull though.... darn soft stuff lol

  • 1948 they converted the a's and b's from all fuel to straight gas

  • Nice pull, nice tractor! I love those old 2 cylinders. My grandpa drove one when he was in college and he's got numerous stories about how they just NEVER stop chugging!

  • i live in biking distance of the fair. its great.

  • i was there :O

  • 2 months later I ran into someone who was at the pull and asked them if they remembered the old A that thought she was a pro-stock, and they said yes :-)

  • hey did u find anyone that would like to sell their tractor?

  • are those cut tires or do you drive on the road with weight on the back of the tractor

  • no, those aren't cut tires. I do drive on the road a little with the weights on. I have an additional set on there now for pulling this year and some plowing nearby.

  • that is a pretty clean tractor. is it barn kept? im a big john deere fanatic

  • I keep it in a neighbor's barn during the winter. During the summer I keep her under a tarp. Haven't gotten around to putting an addition to my garage yet. But I will probably have to since I just restored a John Deere 2 bottom plow. Thanks for the comment.

  • nice pull, is this the warren county in new jersey?

  • no, this is warren county ohio. thanks for the comment

  • I always thought these tractors with the wheels in the middle are only in the cartoons. But now i know that there are these tractors in the reality, too. ;-)

  • nice pull
