It's loosely based on a true story. The story of Dr. Sam Sheppard, whose wife was murdered by a "bushy-haired man". Shepard never escaped and was considered a fugitive though.

In this trailer, they used an alternate take of Tommy Lee Jones' lines about the search for Richard Kimble, without the leg irons and with a little less passion than the take used in the actual film. Good stuff.
