  • Such an honest and timeless song, beautifully written by Dylan & dare I say, crooned by Cash, both do great justice to anyone listening & living these words at this very moment in their lives.

  • Cash is good, but this isnt nearly as good as Bob Dylan's version

  • @Narodnik47 true that its worthy but Bob stole my heart and sole and is the reason i picked up the guitar when i first heard this about 10 years ago :) love Bob man, he can write/wrote stuff that is just unmatched and i doubt ever will be.....

  • The most relevant breakup song to every relationship ever.

  • i like this one alot, maybe cus i admire john but Waylon's cover blew me away.

  • i prefer the mike ness version but this is still good

  • These adverts are a pain in the arse... anyway, great song cool upload:)

  • Miss ya, John. Miss ya bad. Rest in the arms of our loving Savior, but don't let things get too dull up there, because they need decent music too.

  • R.I.P. J.C.!!!! Still kicking ass from the grave

  • Nick Drake does the best cover of this cover

  • @inmemoryofpluto Agreed

  • F/&%k you! long live Johnny Cash! The Man In Black!

  • Good version, but i prefer the Waylons one

  • this is nice but billy pauls version is the best to me

  • the best version pump in thatssamhesgreat bonnie !its john martyn and enjoy!!

  • I named my son Dylan after Bob. When he was about 12 yrs old he asked me why I didn't name him "Cash"

    I still wonder why too.

  • @sabbatha1 you can always tell him how Dylan moved an entire nation with his words, with his music. Johnny Cash was extraordinary in his presentation, a true icon. But Bob Dylan is a world-mover.

  • @sabbatha1 hahahahaha...good taste that kid! Anyway, it's very hard pic only one between Cash and Dylan...

  • @sabbatha1 Because then he'd either be a prison guard or a trucker.

  • Every since I was a kid I thought Johnny Cash was the original and Mike Ness covered Johnny Cash but it turns out Bob Dylan was the original. I still Johnny Cash has the best version though.

  • Thank God we had this man and his music in our time.

    Rest in peace great man.

  • a good johnny cash song but could've been any song, he kind of "watered down" and "countryfied" the nuances of the melody I much prefer the Dylan version, but this sounds really good as a "modern standard" performed by a legendary vocalist.

  • 24K Pure GOLD

If someone were to ask, "what does the American voice song like?" - they'd need only to listen to Johnny

  • i am 15 and i would give my left nut to meet johnny cash

  • @MrBlane47 im a 3 month old baby and i love johnny cash!

  • @vietnamguy1223 thats awesome

  • Those who cover songs should not be put in same sentence as those musician songwrtirers who perform their music, i.e. American Idol, The voice

  • perfection. and a great compensation since youtube doesn't have a Dylan's version.

  • for me the best cover is the one from John Mayer - Hotel Cafe 1/8/11

  • Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash... Both classic American icons.

  • I've been listening to these covers and some of them kill half or all of the spirit of the song.

I don't blame Johnny for this, he did it as well as his personality can, and that's pretty damn good.

Then I started thinking, bob dylan must have spent a lot of time trying to find the right spirit and combinations to build the song, but when he plays them live, he shatters that spirit and ruins the songs in some cases (mtv unplugged).

It looks like bob just craps good songs.

  • Are you fuckin' kiddin' me? You can't find the Bob Dylan original on YouTube anywhere, so when ye go for the next best thing and get the Johnny Cash cover, ye ned tae watch a fuckin' advert at the start of it.

    Get a fuckin' grip, YoutTube.

  • @BobNThat You can find some, but you have to really search. They slip by occasionally.

  • @BobNThat It is on you tube, from the freewhwwling album

  • @BobNThat ok at the year ass hole

  • @1952annie "ok at the year ass hole" What the fuck does that even mean? Fuckin' retard.

  • @BobNThat r u scottish/

  • @john3000931 Sure am. Why?

  • He wasn't even that great of a guitar player or singer, but the sound of that powerful voice and the sincerity behind what he was performing was just earth moving.

  • I prefer Dylan's version. Laced with so much genuine regret it rips my heart out through my knee cap. Empties my insides with a single, soulful punch in the guts.

  • Dylan is Americas Da Vinci

  • Every artist no matter rap/country/soul/pop will cover Bob Dylan at one point.. that goes to show how AMAZING Dylan is...

  • Holy Moly! Cash has monstrous brass ballz! Sounds like Zeus himself performing. Trace Atkins is a mega man too, but Johnny is Super Human. Beck Hansen is a towering Oak of a man, too. Ha! Just screwing with y'all. Beck IS cool, though.

  • OMG..., finally found the ORIGINAL Bob Dylan version of this song (serch after this):

"Bob Dylan- Dont Think Twice It's All Right (original) "

The song takes 3:40, and is not the first on the list......

  • When the whole front has fallen out of the back of the relationship, it's time to move on.

  • @700moby

  • Bono once said: "Every man knows that he is a sissy compared to Johnny Cash."

  • Dylan tells of the time J. Cash gave him one of his guitars-a big honor.

  • @700moby The cover of Eric Clapton is too very good

  • wonderful cover...... great music. i love

  • PUTO INDURAIN.

  • no music is "stolen". no song is the same, but every song has a chip of another song in it. bob dylan stole nothing, but was inspired. name any artist who wasn't inspired by another artist.

  • voluntary breathing and involuntary breathing.... lol.... guilt.... trauma.. fear... it belongs only to the personal make up of the indivudal....... music lost it.....so has sony.. and universal studios.... u just kinda wasted my precious time....

  • @63thekey the pslams exposed......did a little programming of my own.......REVENGE

  • voluntary breathing and involuntary breathing.... lol.... guilt.... trauma.. fear... it belongs only to the personal make up of the indivudal....... music lost it

  • voor mijn peerke afz jacqueline

  • if you like cash check out my version of hurt

  • The whole issue of "stolen" song content is pretty ridiculous. The lawyers are there to pounce. All creative people borrow and expand on what they absorb as sentient beings. The fact that George Harrison was singled out was a crime. A three note phrase was subconsciously plagiarized? What a joke. The two songs sound nothing like each other.

  • R.I.P Cash wish you were still around

  • I like the Mike Ness version best. Just my opinion.

  • i love this version of dont think twice, johnny cash really does it justice

  • sorry bob dylan is the greatest song writer of the rock era but it's pretty lame he won't let his songs be heard on youtube. we credit him for carrying the torch of woddie guthrie???? hardly. this version is better anyway. whoever controlls johnny cash's estate - you rock! thanks!

  • @what1111000 I wouldn't say this version is BETTER per se, it's just different, in a good way. Although it is ridiculously lame that Dylan doesn't let us put his songs up on youtube - it makes it impossible for me to recommend his songs to anyone ¬¬

  • RIP Suze Rololo, the girl it was written for. Bob's lawyers won't let his songs appears on YouTube, but we still have great tributes.

  • sorry about that

  • crap

  • About a month ago, i still could watch the original version and eric clapton cover in my country all the time, but now i can't find it anywhere on YOutube. Why that ?

  • GOD I MISS U JOHNNY ILL SEE U AGAIN IN THE BLISS OF HEAVEN UNTIL THEN MATE I SHALL LISTEN TO U EVERY DAY LOVE YA MAN

  • Mike Ness obviously has maintained his excellent taste in music by celebrating the songs by taking some of them on! Ring of Fire, etc... Cash is the first, and Mike continues to rock all of that on!!

  • i like the four seasons version of this song

  • 12 people thought twice :/

  • I never heard this before. I like it :D play on understand your man i gurss

  • @megafaded69 You say that Mike Ness is a fake ass dick, bit you pobably dont know a damn thing about being real. look at your stupid fucking name. dumbshit

  • @TheGreaserDude Amen bro. Don't fuck with Mike Ness. He's one of the few REAL rockers.

  • mike ness a fake ass dick? i'll shove my real dick into you bitch...

  • Mike Ness is a fake ass dick

  • 10 people are assholes.

  • mike ness's cover is pretty awesome also, johnny did a great job

  • DONT THINK TWICE!!! JAJA THE BEST EVER....... SHOTS OUT TO EVERY CASH FAN OUT THEIR

  • @justinbieberforking Obvious troll is obvious

  • @justinbieberforking HAY KID FUCKING STOP GOING TO EVERY VID AND SAY THAT CLASSIC MUSIC SUCKS. ITS PEOPLE LIKE YOU THAT MAKE YOUTUBE SUCK ALL YOU DO IS DO IT FOR THE REACTION GO TO HELL WITH JUSTIN BIEBER AND SUCK HIS DICK JUSTIN SUCKS MUSIC IS DEAD. • @justinbieberforking I JUST GET SO FUCKING MAD AT LITTLE ASS HOLES THAT THINK THEY ARE BIG SHIT. GO BACK TO JUSTIN BIEBER LAND AND GO TO HELL

AND IF YOU WRITE ONE MORE FUCKING COMMENT SAYING THAT SO AND SO SUCKS. YOU WILL SEE TRUE ANGER

  • @justinbieberforking Because, it's not so much music as it is selling an idol/image. These songs don't need videos, because they actually have meaning.

  • @Echnaton1954 you are dumb, there is plenty of modern music that is good, even though most of it is not mainstream anymore...

  • @Adriat1c Don´t you dare telling me that I don´t have the right to declare my own opinion. There are about 7 billion people who got the right for their personal taste! You got yours and I got mine, honey. Merry Christmas !!! "

  • im trippin hard

  • sounds like Understand your man !!

ANYTHING CASH EVER SANG WAS AND WILL FOREVER BE AMAZING!!!!!!

  • Great!

  • It was the pre-runner to 'Understand you man' It was Clive Campbell that changed the lyrics.

  • Bob Dylan was blessed with an enormous talent, that is why all the great artists have recorded his compositions

  • @pepys1633 Dylan stole the melody and most of the lines in the song from the Clayton's "Who's gonna buy you ribbons when I'm gone". That being said, I am a HUGE Dylan fan. But dont think he just crapped out hit after hit. MOST of his songs content was stolen.

  • @jazzstepa Most of Shakespeare's plays content was stolen too. And I couldn't love either him or bob dylan any more than i do.

  • Comment removed

  • @pepys1633 Let's use the present tense...Ole Bob is still blessed, 'live and kickin'...

  • johnny cash my hero

  • kakav car...

  • @jackstrawfrmwchta

What's the problem? He didn't sing with a dick in his mouth, so, we just don't give a fuck ;)

  • @jackstrawfrmwchta

Sorry, I try but all I can hear is your stupidity.... But, I promise I really try ;)

    From France ;)

  • @jackstrawfrmwchta let me guess you listen to Lady gaga and Justin bieber but you waste your time typing faggy comments on a singer that you never heard of? No class pal

  • @Ltgrub225 I listen to Bach. Not bubble gum pop rock or hillbilly homosexuals. As a Johnny Cash fan, I'm sure you epitomize class, "pal". I doubt you spit out your Skoal before going down on your sister.

  • @jackstrawfrmwchta Because that was a classy statement...

  • Johnny Cash is like the Chuck Norris of country/blues/rock and roll :) Invincible.

  • Love his deep, gravelling voice. A perfect rendering of this great song.

  • I like the Peter Paul and Mary version better honestly. Look it up, its a great tune

  • Good song, great singer. I like the Waylon Jennings version of this one better, though.

  • Shame hes no longer with us...........

  • Johnny's way

  • Damn good cover.

  • Johnny Cash can sing anything....and it will be perfect.

  • @Kurzgan

    Too right, mate.

  • @Kurzgan You got that right brother!

  • I HATE ALL YALL WHO CALL JOHNNY CASH A THIEF!!!!! YOU ARE WRONG SO SHUT UP!!!

  • Incredibly timely. Who wouldn't love his music. I hope Johnny and June are together in heaven.

  • I love Johnny Cash - but on this particular song I think I prefer the Dylan version. I NEVER SAY THAT. I usually hate the Dylan version.

  • My voice can reach so low I was once told I make Johnny Cash sound like a woman...

  • So times on the railroad gettin' hard, babe,

I woke up last night and saw it snow,

Remember what you said to me last summer

When you saw me walkin' down that road.

..AS EVEN IN PAUL CLAYTONS LAST VERSE 'DYLANS HAS STOLEN THE BEST LINES FROM THIS SONG

  • @sunriseRISE to sunriseRISE ..are you sure that it is stealing and not borrowing? Music is such a

Universal language though out time many songs borrow things from each other.

I could name numerous songs that might not even exist had a previous song not been around to inspire it.

  • @BillyBorders NAME ON BILL.. YES in BOB DYLANS CASE I THINK HE STEALS.. AS HE DIDNT WRITE THE MUSIC HE JUST PUT HIS OWN WORDs OVER SOMEONE ELSES WORK.....TAKE..' MASTERS OF WAR' or GOD ON OUR SIDE'..TALKING WORD WAR 3 BLUES' GIRL FROM THE NORTH COUNTRY'' or BOB DYLANs DREAM' and Blowing in the wind.. dylan didnt write the music to any of those.. but i never seem him credit those that did

  • .MORE OF PAUL CLAYTONS LYRICS

So I'm walkin' down that long, lonesome road,

You're the one that made me travel on,

But still I can't help wonderin' on my way,

Who's gonna buy you ribbons when I'm gone?

  • ehiiiiiiii

  • bob dylan soo stole this song...he even had to pay bigtime in the 60s for stealing it from PAUL CLAYTONS''Who's GOING TO BUY YOU RIBBINS WHEN IM GONE''.. BOB DYLAN ALSO PAYED BIG BUCKS FOR STEALING -Jean Richies arrangement of SCARBROUGH FAIR.. AND CALLING IT'' God on our side'..most of dylan early songs were English folk songs that he stole =Master of War- Blowen in the wind -Bob dylans dream - Dont think twice/its allright- Talking world war 3 blues.. etc etc none of these songs were dylans

  • @sunriseRISE Interesting to hear this info. . Where could I read up on this further? Curious.

  • you the outlaw johnny

  • social d

  • very well done BUT this song is about him leavin not her

  • I personally think Dylan was the right man to sing this fantastic song. Johnny cash does it no harm though!

  • amazing song , where is my wine !

  • well...best cover version on youtube

  • Why in the FUCK is there no version of this song performed by the man himself? I've never seen so many goddam covers of one song--and they all suck compared to Bob Dylan's original version.

  • @HighNortherner I noticed it myself, found only one a long time ago, but that one's removed now because of rights-shit :(

good thing I have the song myself, on vinyl! ;D

  • @HighNortherner - I agree. :(

  • @HighNortherner Maybe buy a

Dylan album? I know it sounds incredible, but Bob once committed this to a record.

  • @Wortnick ... I own almost everything Dylan ever created. I was trying to play Dylan's version at a friend's house--amazingly, he'd never heard it. Even though I love Johnny Cash, I didn't want a cover to be his first exposure. Hence my frustration that night.

  • @Wortnick im sad to say this but if u can find the victoria secret bob dylan cd it has three great songs romona, dont think twice its alright, and boots of spanish leather

  • @HighNortherner Hows she goin listen to the waylon jennings version itll pass with flying fucking carpets in your books.

  • @HighNortherner i give u 10 mother fukin thumbs up

  • @HighNortherner .. POSS.. BECAUSE bob dylan stone this song from paul CLAYTON song '' Whos going to buy you ribbins when im gone''...and had to pay big time in the 60s .. with a large out court settlement..

  • @sunriseRISE It's true that the melody of this song is taken from the Paul Clayton song, though Dylan's lyrics are far better. But it's not true, as you've asserted here at least twice, that Dylan had to pay a lot of money as a penalty for his use of the melody, as Clayton himself had cribbed it from an earlier, public domain source. That's sort of the essence of pop music generally, and in the folk/pop world particularly: theft upon theft upon theft of long-forgotten sources equals originality.

  • @lardashpwellbottom ... heres Paul Claytons lyrics..'i think you'll see BOB DYLAN Stole a bunch of these words as well as the tune.

.It ain't no use to sit and sigh now, darlin,

And it ain't no use to sit and cry now,

T'ain't no use to sit and wonder why, darlin,

Just wonder who's gonna buy you ribbons when I'm gone

    .

  • Love this version AND Mike Ness's version. Completely different from each other, and both excellent!

    Happy 69th Birthday, Bob!

  • suck

  • omg I Had no clue johnny did bob song i knew peter paul an marry but my fave was 64 gas light before he sold the song j did better with 9 nails not coffein intch lol love to love boooooooo

  • Because Sony Music are a bunch of scumbags.

  • Why have they removed ll the album versions of this by Bob Dylan?

  • God Dylan or Cash both amazing this song is...check out Dylan/Cash million miles from yesterday

  • @wnt2bkazam or "it ain't me babe"

  • Cash is the Man, his style was, is and will always be Unique, he didnt have a mock style, it was just him!. he didnt need to exaggerate.

  • Exactly!

  • @gfxheaven Hey glad to see there's some people like me out there that like the man in black, Countrys always been part of my life and i'm old now lol..

  • @nurseladysman Hey sorry for the repeat on here, i didn't notice it til now, been away from a pc for a while

  • by Bob Dylan? I thought Ramblin' Jack did this song. I've heard Bob Dylan's version, but I always thought it was a cover

  • Ramblin' Jacj Elliott did a cover of this song too...

  • Mike Ness' version rocks.

  • Can this version be found on any of Cash's albums?

  • Hi, yes I just looked again, I bought the MP3 of this song on Amazon, it's on one called Orange Blossom Special, which is also on a 2-on-1 CD with San Quentin.

    Awesome isn't this version?

    Enjoy!

  • @coolahoop not sure if this particular one is on his albums, but I would think that it would be, look on google maybe you'll find the answer there?.

  • @nurseladysman yes, this song is on ,"Orange blossom special",. i think it came out in 65 but im not sure

  • @alanyoung2 See, I thought so but wasn't sure @alanyoung2, thanks for clearing that up

  • Johnny cash cover is awesome.

  • Johnny will always put his bom-chicka-bom into any song

  • legend

  • Mike Ness is the best at this. Damn vegan.

  • i always have like this song ,, thanks for the post

  • Johnny and Bob are both legends. Separate they are awesome, when they play together, it is even better.

  • I don't care too much for Bob Dylan's voice, but his lyrics are great. When it comes to being absolutely amazing at everything, Johnny Cash wins over all.

  • @psychobillysickboy

you aren't supposed to like bob dylan's voice. he's a character. and probably the greatest singer/songwriter to ever live.

  • Well, I wouldn't say the best, but he's good. I would just enjoy his songs a bit more, if he sang them with a more melodic voice.

  • @mattfreaknparker Hey matt, I'm interested in what your saying here. do you mean that when he got on stage he was playing a roll for the audience, and purposely singing in an unconventional way, or do you simply mean that he was a character in the way you would say a kid that goofed around a lot, or someone with a naturally odd personality is "a character"? if you do mean it the first way, I am intrigued to know why you think so, Ive never thought of him that way, but wouldn't put it past him.
