  • @ATobaccoChewingPig he also ate children and fairys !!! and ur eyes should be on ur face not hands !!!!!!!

  • ok i dont care how lame i sound this scared the shite out of me !!!!!!!!!

  • Omg... When I saw that creature for the first time, it scared the crap out of me! o.o

  • @SweetPipsqueak Same. I was like "What in the hell is that thing!?" Then after awhile I was like "...I've seen scarier." But when I saw him eat those fairies I was like "WHAT THE HELL!?" xD

  • not cool watching this while eating!

voldemort on ectasy lmao (or ecxtasy? i don't know...)

  • This was the scariest part!!! I was so freaking scared!!! <:o

  • If she stole my food I'd eat her too.

  • omfg its sgt. flabby!

  • Too true. People won't give the poor pale man a break. I mean really, what would any of you done in that situation? Crazy grape stealing girl, I'd eat her too.

  • (continuing) but after an unfortunate accident with some boiling hot white chocolate it looks like a monster now, so every time it tries to make an offer, the visitor(s) attack the poor creature and that is where the creature would have to kill it's visitor(s) in the name of self-defense.

  • That thing is a chef, and laid out a good buffet for any visitors that would drop by unexpectedly and would wake up after the visitor(s) tried one of the food just to simply thank it's visitor(s) by giving them an offer to Six Flags...

  • mmmmm... that food looked good... so did the girl.

  • she could have taken the food with her instead eating it on the place. that way the monster wouldnt have woken up in the first place...

  • omg i havent seen this movie in years!!!this scene made me have nightmares though .lol

  • she was really stupid

  • Ignorant, greedy and stupid girl.

I rather she got raped and eaten instead of the helpful fairies.

  • @Spraycando haha comon man hes got eyeballs in his hands and he bites off fairy heads. u wouldnt wanna mess

  • she should stab him with the dagger before eat the grapes

  • Personally speaking: I would have stood my ground and kicked its skinny arse.

  • The Faun: Don't eat anything, you will die.

And then, of course, she goes and eats the grapes.

  • wtf wuz dat thing????? somebody please tell mei

  • @DR4M4JR

Some Kind of Demon. The Faun told Ofelia not to eat anything, because she would gonna die... Some kind of test you see. This demon awakes, if you eat something of tihs tabel and it will kill you.

  • she is symbolic of american womanhood, insatiable and ruthless greed.

  • WHat Little Girl would eat food in front of a monster like that!?!?! I Swear this girl is a weirdo

  • @pointblizzy Up to this point, every time she'd disobeyed in the fantasy world it worked out to her advantage. The fairies tried to lead her to the wrong key, etc. 12 year olds minds work in weird ways.

  • Maybe had she pulled the Sparta kick, the fairies would've been OK.

  • "Ofelia, don't eat ANYTHING!" hours later "Maybe one little grape, HOLY ^@&^@#$! PALE MAN ATE MY FAIRY FRIENDS!!!!!!!!!!!"

  • So... she got a dagger from the door thing and... instead she ran and let him eat the two fairies?

  • @Light4494

KInda hard to think properly when you got something like that walking towards you.

  • i would have been running so fast.

  • SHE IS SO ANNOYING!

  • Lame...

  • she makes me want a grape...

  • I saw this film earlier today and I think it's great! Both a powerful war film and a stunning fantasy.

This scene, though, is downright creepy.

  • I was hoping the movie would be more... about the labyrinth, I guess. :c

But nonetheless, it is a very epic movie and this scene is definitely my favourite. XD

  • @Arnarkusaga You completely blew my simple remark, one that didn't need correcting or comment, out of proportion. I don't care what the script and/or director made the girl do, I was remarking on how dumb of an idea it was for the girl to continue standing there as it's obvious the pale man means harm to her as if this was considered a real situation. I don't need an explanation or

analysis of how a movie is meant to be made when one was never asked for or wanted in the first place

  • A: replying to me directly might have made you look less like a coward.

B: if you don't want replies, don't make stupid comments. Saying you hate kids because of what some FICTIONAL GIRL did is just stupid.

C: I was actually being rather respectful, but if you're going to sit there and get all high and mighty, fine. All you had to do was say "yes I know," we could've called it a day, but you had to bitch out and justify total stupidity that makes no rational sense. You're an idiot.

  • Yeah, just stand there as the Pale man is biting the heads off of your fairy companions and is about to come after you next. Swear to god, I hate children.

  • You do know this is not real, right? She's acting based on a script. If the script says "Stand there", she's s'posed to stand there. Don't blame the kid, blame the director.

  • I was remarking on how stupid she is to just stand there as if it was a real life situation, not the directing.

  • But that's part of the scene. She's supposed to stand there because that is both what the script and the director told her to do. She is ACTING. Of course she's not acting as if this was a real situation because it's not a real situation. It is a movie, it is fiction; she is an actress. An actress who is paid to do what the director tells her to do. It's not like she's ad-libbing. The director told her to stand there. She can't be stupid for standing there if that's what the script calls for.

  • maybe she was in shock?

  • Thank you.

  • HES SO VISUAL APEALING THOO

  • isn't there a much older film called "the labyrinth" with muppets?

  • yeah, and its amazing

  • Yes. It's not related in any way.

  • em... its probably because it eats children. :)

  • This is the only really good scene of the film :-/ Unfortunately there's no comparison with all the remaining...

But I agree this scene is great !

  • it makes me laugh

  • Most likely explanation is that she was enchanted and had no choice about eating the grapes. It makes no sense that she would intentionally defy a simple order to eat nothing.

  • that's creppy....

  • why didn't she take his eyes. then she could eat everything. just smash them

  • She could have done many things ... The problem is: it should have been a "difficult" task for her :D

Btw: why is she so sloooooow?

  • it looks like something straight out of silent hill

  • never fails to make me hold on to my chair soooo tight in suspense (even though i know what's gonna happen!) lol x)

    creepy and demented!!! O_O

  • I tough this movie was such a heavy fantasy. Was a kind of evil, you know, that was inside that labyrinth, especially this creepy Pale Man. MidnightApparition, I agree with you, this girl is supid for not listening the Faun! Look what she done to the poor faries that tried to protecing her!

  • Tellement bien fait =D

  • this monster freaked me out! Awesome movie though!

  • voll der killerrrrrrrrrr

  • anibody know a free stream of this movie?

  • one of the top five freakiest film monsters of all time -

  • I hated this scene :(

    1. Stupid stupid little girl for eating the food

    2. Uber creepy monster. Scarier than most other ones i've seen. I couldn't sleep for an hour+ :P

    3. Poor fairies :'( Didn't deserve to die like that

    4. I hate chase scenes in general

  • I not a nice scene , ill give u that. But it was a good one. the way they flimed it and stuff

  • Awesome movie and monster.

  • I actually got annoyed by the girl not following what the Faun told her NOT to do and eat.

The pale man putting his eyes in his hands and chasing distortionatly at the girl was creepy.

  • I did too, she could have taken all that food back with her and ate it later. But she was too stupid to do that and now somebodies dead for another girls mistake lol. j/k

  • damn that thing is creepy

  • well, there's that part of the fairy tale.

So kids, don't break the rules, or else A MAN WITH GIANT CLAWS AND EYES ON HIS HANDS WILL EAT YOU!

  • Wow, are grapes really worth it...? Well, I guess the whole thing is symbolic, you know, the grapes were symbol for temptation... They are the fruit of the avaricious and gluttonous anway.

  • OMG... the way he looks scares the fuck out of me eveythime i watch it.... :)

  • LOL! 2:02 it looks

    so funny. haha!

  • I tought he will rapeherand the fairies

  • lol women love to eat ^^

  • Ueeeee it`s the worst part of this film...

  • OMG. the part where the pale man eats the fairies STILL freaks the HELL out of me!

  • if you think about it, the time she is living in has barely any food like the food on that table. she wouldnt have eaten grapes for a very long time. ofcourse it would have been a very hard temptation to look past and yeah :)

  • wtf?

  • at that moment I seriously wanted to see the pale man eat Ophelia, because she couldn't follow an extremely simple order (just wait til you get back and steal food from the a-hole). Seriously are a few measly grapes worth it? And if you're committed to it, why take your freaking time? Seriously frustrating

  • lol, me too

  • LOL!!

  • lol fairy muncher :D

  • shet i was like RUN GIRL!! RUN HURRRY HURRY!! i was freaking out haha

  • haha and the worst part is that she lost a part of her chalk back in his house XD

  • looks like the creepy baby-eater dosn't want to share his grapes.

  • in 1:50, how can she not hear all that??

    great movie btw :}

  • I was devastated over the fairies. They TRIED to defend her, and ended up getting screwed over because of it............................she better be glad I'm not the goat-guy.....There WOULD be violence. j/k

Seriously though, I was furious with her.

  • Ummm not trying to be mean so dont takie this the wrong way the goat guy is a Faun named Pan :).

  • Oh.....so THAT'S what they're called! LOL funny thing is, I had actually forgotten (Even with internet, I'm too lazy to look it up) Thanks ;)

  • No problem :)

  • How old are you?

  • Bingo wings!

  • woudlnt say shes greedy, but foolish. this is one of my favorite movies of all time tho.

    its great.

  • I would of switched the eyes with some small food

  • HAHAHA nicee

  • omg does anyone have all parts of this movie on youtube

  • You can buy the DVD if you like the film that much.

  • shes on crack, the one thing shes told is "dont eat anything" theres a scary baby eating mutant freak sat by a table and yet she still eats a grape!

  • She's still a child and sometimes food is the most powerful force there is!

  • if it was me I would fly my ass out of here very very fast

  • this is my fave part of the movie

  • my fave part is wen that one chik cutz her dads mouth and says you wont be the first pig ive gutted. i love this movie!!

  • Oh! :O Freaky! ;)

  • uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuhhhhhhhhhhhhhh cabra de mierda mas porfiada ke rabia me daaaaaaaa !!!!!!!!!!1

  • they should not have helped her

  • what is pans labriynth about?

  • should of replaced his eyes with grapes

  • ROFL! that would have been funny.

  • because maybe it didn't suck :()

  • lol nice :)

  • so whyd it get up if i were her i would squish the eyes

  • ha at 2:03 he seems like hes trying to say pika boo

  • she is so fucking retarded

  • this is why you should listen to faries when they tell you not to eat food that is in front of a creepy man.

  • stupid assehole just kill it with your dagger!!!!

  • @ icequeen203

    lmao

    agreed

  • for a teen who benches 250lbs that thing would crumble under my fist

  • yay kill it..damn thing ate the fairies D;

  • arent you hardcore...

  • For me,this is one of the greatest films ever made.

  • How Ophelia isn't terrified out of her mind astounds me. If I was in that situation, I would drop dead. Just to SEE the Pale Man sitting there would make me die, let alone have it chase you...

  • Hahaha snappety snap I feel the same way.

If I was her, cornered at the end of the corridor with the chalk broken and that thing going WROOOOOIIIIIIIIRRR at me I swear I would drop dead on the spot.

  • it was disturbing

  • este film me parece estpendo

  • This movie was great. I went in and saw it in theaters, not knowing anything about it, and I was treated with this beautiful film.

  • I say that the barbairic captain in the movie, was alot more creepier than this monster, atleast you can tell that the pale man is a monster just by looking at him. The captain vidal was a different story.

  • his legs are the creepiest

  • I know, those skinny things give me the creeps too.

  • I've never seen this movie b4...it's scary as fuck...lol

  • He is so disturbing, but I like it. xD

The cry he makes when he puts his arm out, it sounds like babies shrieking. O_O

  • to my what I don't like of movie is that too violent one to be imaginative but then the girl is a charm together with what plays him to live

  • that did not make any sense what so ever

  • (talking to dep) and also, the world is not a perfect place. do you really believe everything is wonderful, not a single bit of violence in the world? i doubt you can go a day without seeing some sort of violence, so seriously, do not complain. this is a very good movie, and if you dont appreciate it, then just dont watch it.

  • I agree with Gaara. As Ursula Le Guin said, there is no light without shadow. There is no triumph without trial. Pick up a Perrault or Grimm fairy tale and you will find sick depravity. Please beleive the mind is capable of wonderous fancies and horrific nightmares, but it takes both to tell a human tale.

  • What website can i go to so i can Decode your language?

  • I was lucky enough to get to meet the actor who played The Pale Man at Crypticon this past weekend. His name is Doug Jones and he has to be the nicest, coolest guy on the planet - he talked to me for 18 minutes, and let me film the whole thing! How cool is that?

  • Some people I know didn't like this movie,I can't understand why.I just bought the DVD.

  • The best scene in the movie. So scary.

  • ....unless you don't find it one bit ODD about huge nostrils in the middle of his head the size of bullet holes and eyeballs inserted in his hands completley normal! XD

he is still creepy to me though...after about 200 times watching the movie I guess his "creepyness" would get numbed.

  • lol

  • at first I thought he was going to put this eyes in his nostrils for some odd reason lol

  • that's where the actor's eyes are ^_^

  • you know with what they used for the effects of severly deteriorated muscles in the pale man's legs they could of dijitaly made his arm flaps not look so 'dry' by flopping and sliding around on his bony arms waving them all about and 'jiggle' some going after the girl....ever see some old people wave and have their whole arm exposed? not that I don't love my grandparents just using them as a example, But thank god they were in better shape than that dude!

  • but i think that is a main part of his creepy image, that he doesn't look very menacing at all...

  • I know I hate subtitles when that spanish was being spoken I really thought I messed up and bought the wrong version of the movie Lol!

  • lol i had a friend that thought the same thing, so they took it back not knowing it was supposed to be in spanish xD

  • I like how she just stands there looking at it eat her fairies. Dumb brunnette. -.- I would have run first seeing it.

  • o i would have beaten the mess out of tat gay boney weakling i would kill him even he surrenders

  • I think it was a beautiful movie and the most disturbing part was the realisim of the general smashing in the mans face with a bottle! that was a bit more than shocking for me. he was the real monster of the film. but had a sad ending though.

  • I agree that was a little disturbing to watch that part.

  • me and my friends always joked that the pale man ate a fairy for each grape! LOL!

  • i love this movie sooo muich! pan rocks he not even look like what they describe him as in greek mythology!

  • to really understand this part, you must have watched the previous parts.

She is getting things for the "fauna" (a fawn) and is required to get the knife from this place. She is then enticed to eat the grapes, and thus wakens the pale man. Luckily, her magic chalk helps her escape from his lair.

  • You don't have to watch anything to understand this part. It's so obvious what is going on.

  • uh...scary

  • Why did you post twice?

  • i didnt mean to

  • ha ha

  • I don't think she's greedy. Has anybody else stopped to think that (maybe) there was a spell on the food? she probably couldn't resist eating some, which made the pale thingy come back to life (or whatever the hell happened).

    T___T poor fairies

  • I really dont get this part of the story. She doesnt follow the fairy's advice and opened the box to the left, rather than the middle. She also ate the grapes. Was this meant to be? I was confused if the dagger she picked was really what she was suppose to pick.

  • therigh box still had the knife, the other fairy told her to, and she was stupid to not follow what pan had told her twice and the book. not to mention the fairies... they're pretty much worthless exept for finding her way thorugh the labyrinth

  • I have to agree with you on the spell part. I also think that perhaps there was some sort of equivalent exchange there. Did anyone else notice that she ate two grapes and two fairies died? (The Faun warned her it was a matter of life and death.)

  • Holy shit! I hate situations when exit doors close and there's no escape from death... and yes, she's sooo stupid
