  • Does it matter? Life doesn't hand out happy endings left and right either. Besides, what's happier than achieving true life?

  • Have the Decemberists EVER made an album with a happy ending?

  • Probably one of the best albums I've EVER listened to.

  • @Zell2020

    I'll drink to that

  • Great music. Great cover art. Argggggh, love it so good.

  • This is one of the decemberist's best imo. This album tells a whole story instead of some artist's albums which randomly blurt out songs which could be about chocolate one song to the ingredients of a thermometer in another. It's not exactly like that, but you should know what I mean. This song and some after it are darker, but it also shows the fawn's passion for margaret and their love, the rake was well played.

  • for some reason your random song topics made my day. ive got to here a song about the ingredients of a thermometer. haha

  • @BlueZephyr16 - They're making a reference to a Beatles song. :)

  • @CeisasM Which one?

  • i think "cute" is an acceptable adjective..these stories are not to be taken so literally and seriously. Humor is supposed to be derived at least at one point or another.. so cute is ok with me. This adjective doesn't negate INSANE talent!!!

  • I have never seen somebody dissect the wording of a sentence in such a meticulous manor...

  • @mytwocatz14 It's not supposed to be "cute" or "funny." It's supposed to be sad and dark, which it is 9in my opinion).

  • i love this song! their music is so cuteee!

  • cute?... ... ... ... ... do you understand the story these songs are telling? o_o

  • lol.

  • @Tweek2050 read "Under Milk Wood" the album is based losely around the book, but you'll understand the entire album's storyline better if you do. Really good book.

  • @Tweek2050 the song "rakes song" is messed up he kills his children

  • @kerriberry118 You realize this song is about a pregnant woman getting kidnapped by a rapist/murder, right? And that's cute? Hmph.

  • Boo bloody hoo.

I think they sound amazing in this album. Don't like it, that's fine. However, you are not the final judge on all things musical.

  • lolwut?

  • Mate, you've obviously never listened to the Tain.

  • i love these guys

  • same-ish as the bower scene right?

can anyone find me an example of ardor in a recent song that doesn't have arbor close by? i can think of bon iver's lump sum as another one with both

  • Bonnie 'Prince' Billy's "May It Always Be" is a good example. No trees to be found. (He uses 'armor' instead.)
