@Taupofreeride. Get a Honda XR250. The best beginners bike out there. Absolutely bulletproof. Good amount of grunt. Especially if you get one with a pipe on it. That was my first bike and the best decision I ever made.

That's not really extreme. You can find this type of time trial in any National level competition. This is the essence of enduro riding. Use natural obstacles.

I'm looking at getting a 250cc 4-stroke, I've never ridden a dirt bike before, but I have won national downhill mountain biking medals, so I know how to maintain a drift and the proper way to do 2m+ drops and 30ft gaps, would the bike be too powerful for me?

Perfect bike.

A 250 4-stroke is probably the best beginners-bike you could get.

Lightweight and a little torque in the low rpm's, so you don't stall all of the time.

It has about the same power as a 125 2-stroke, but is easier to drive since you don't have to revv all of the time.

A 4-stroke requires less maintenance too.

@RatRaper The newer 4 strokes require a lot more maintenance. They are also pricey to work on. Also, if you modify the sprockets on a 2 stroke and put on a woods pipe you can get those lower Rpms.

nope. you can see his rear tire is off the ground, spinning, which is your answer.

high idiling bike is also a possibility to help it stay running while in gear. and when he went to grab it he just pulled in the clutch and went from there.
