@beaubarri: I believe it's today's younger generation and it's more to do with her political leanings and her feelings about French sovereignty; France is French and must remain that way. I'm not French or european but I did spend a lot of time in Europe. What strikes me now as to when I first went to Europe is the slow dripping lost of culture identity in the European countries, especially those within the EU.

Travelling beween the different countries and experiencing the full diversity of Europe was complete exhilirating for me. I feel the attempt by the EU to merge the cultures especially with non-european cultures is wrong and will only weaken and may destroy the once strong european cultures. Diversity is good. Merielle has been called racist for having this same feelings about France. She is right.

When I went to Montreal my accent ( Sottish Highlands west coast Gaelic) was so thick the English could not understand me so I hung with a lot of French speakers and she was aye on the radio (CKVL).
