  • how did u get pro tools to recognize apogee duet

  • Yea kind of a bummer that PT only sees 4 gigs...... I just mentioned 6 gig to let you know what I was working with. When I run Ableton, Congnitone and even Reason, I think the extra ram is coming in handy. Thanks for your comment.

  • He kept saying he had 6gb ram. So what, Pro tools only see's 4gb

  • so whats up 4 auction

  • Yea. Love RMX!

  • simeotaneously?

  • hahaha Bossa Love Stylus Loop, right??

  • I'm not mixing, just sketching ideas. Then I'll save the session to a thumb drive and work on it in my home studio. These light weight speakers allow me to go anywhere with no hassle.

  • how are you mixing with shitty speakers

  • I heard Pro Tools will only utilise 4gb RAM max

  • @sleazychestnut yea thats correct, pro tools only uses 4GB of ram... BUT its still good to have 6 or 8 because you still have other applications open that use some of the ram. so if your computer only had 4 GB of ram then pro tools will only use 3 and some change.

keep in mind that logic is a 64 bit application so it lets you use 8GB of ram.

  • hey what do you have in your menu bar? like what are tose icons? please and thanks

  • i love studio videos

  • The Apogee Duet is not midi capable. I just use USB from my keyboards. When I do need portable midi, like when I use my Handsonic, I have an M-audio 1x1. Thanks for your comment.

  • Which MIDI interface do you use, or is there breakouts for the MIDI I/O?

  • hey bro... how can i conect pro tools 8.0.5 to duet apogee, plz help me out

  • @shumo4 . Hello. As far as I know, it's Pro Tools 9 only that has allowed the use of third party hardware interfaces. I had always used my Eleven Rack, but as soon as PT9 was installed I began using the Apogee Duet which is a huge plus when it comes to portability. Thanks for your comment.

  • sounds good and nicely presented but....why don't you monitor from the duet?

  • @RnRanimal Hello, I am actually monitoring from the Duet, but just through the headphone out. For basic tracking and editing, I chose not to have the breakout cables, then a splitter for my desktop monitors etc, it's just more cables than I want to deal with for simple in-the-box tracking tasks. I'll utilize the monitor out and take advantage of the nice sound apogee provides when Im mixing into my better monitors. Thanks for your comment.

  • you need studio monitors if you want some good mixes...

  • @kalkanciii Agreed. This setup just represents my mobile rig for remote tracking and editing. Once that is done it's off to my desktop rig with my MacPro and better monitors etc. Thanks for your comment.

  • @kalkanciii That is actually incorrect. You can do a headphone mix. I would not recommend using any hi-fi speakers like Bose though. However It's not what you have but how well you can use it. If your ears are good enough to mix on computer speakers, knock yourself out!!!!!!!!

  • Man what kind of camera is that! You can hear all the thwack on the percussion and everything! Or you just mix that good lol!

  • @jonesboy35757 You may or may not be surprised to here that It was recorded with my iPhone 4. Thanks for your comment.

  • Track sounds nice! Great ear for detail!

  • @hitzville81 Thanks!
