@MrAce737 Its spinning at such a speed that all that rotating mass needs that long to come to a stop. If you spin the wheel on your bicycle it also doesnt stop immediately until you hit the brakes or put it back on the floor.
I got this airport in FS2004, it's paltry. I'm gonna doll it up, add some scenery, tarmacs, objects, etc. Thank God for AFCAD and scenery object placement!
CYPO, CYAT, CZKE, CYFA, CYMO are all airports that need AFCAD updating... if I knew how and had time I'd do them all. (CYMO is my base and home) Airport on FSX sucks. FS2004 also.
He defintely still had a lot of speed when he turned off, I hope the passengers didn't eat a big lunch lol. Still a very impressive landing given the circumstances
Yeah it is. Air Creebec use Dash-8's, Embraer 110's, Beech 1900's, King Air's, also cargo Hawker Siddeley 748 offering scheduled and charter service to Northeastern Ontario and Western Quebec. It's a native run and owned Airline.
I've done a Twin otter in 200' !! We were coming in with a headwind of 20 kts, full flaps and hanging on the props with 60 KIAS. As soon as we touched down, we stepped on the brakes, full aft and reversers till the end!! Did it on the touchdown blocks!! Amazing!
first officer will grab the reverse thrust leavers and put it in to DISC witch is slight reverse then MAX reverse, how the reverse works is that the props blades rotate 90 degrees still going in the same direction but the blades have just turned, witch throes air flow from the engines right ford to slow the aircraft right down.
is very good as well because, when landing the airplane is coming in fast. The reason it has to come in fast is that it has 35 degrees off landing flaps, and a head wind sometimes so if they come in slow they have a grater risk off staling. So as they land fast the second the main under charge makes contacted with the ground the pilot or
the dash-8 was made to land on short R/W. To help it slow down the use speed brakes are good because they Reduce the airflow over the wings witch Produces lift and drag so the airplane is not very Aerodynamic So it can concentrate on staying on the ground while it is loosing speed. And number 2 the use of reverse thrust on the dash-8
wow its painted like a late 70s coleman camper....

Is it only Dash 8 that can land in sort runways??
radeonplus 4 years ago
Many other aircraft can land on short and much shorter runways.
jmr604 2 years ago
Well a dash 8 really aint that small compared to some little planes LOL...
