I made a budget PC for around 500 Euro with new monitor few years ago, and still can play high-end games. And you guys bitch up for CPU twice the price i made a PC. Processors are soo fast from 2008 till now that what ever you pick - Intel or AMD will do the job for years in the future.

I also play games like Mass Effect, Dragon Age series and NFS HP, AVP, FEAR1-2-3, Crysis1-2, StarCraft 2. VGA is old also - its PowerColor HD3850. Cant complain from AMD, using CPU, Chipster and GPU only from them. I dont hate Intel but i think they overpice too much the products.

My AMD 7750 2,7Ghz runs at 22C Temp same as my room temperature with win7 64 bit and normal air cooling :) its 65nm architecture, 40 and 28 run even cooler. The highest temp i reached with overcloking to 3,2 Ghz was 45C.

I must have missed something, How well is this thing with AutoCAD, Photo Shop and Video Editing? It does not matter how good windows 8 is if you have SSD hard drive... I am all about buying the best stuff and if AMD pulls there head out there ass maybe I will throw them a bone. But if AMD does make a better cpu than Intel I promise you it will be like the last FX in 2003/2004 and sell for over $900 just like intel is now.

@MrChilloffi In 10 years the intel i7 920 will out preform the current AMD. The only reason AMD is still in business is there GPU's. Don't get me wrong the CPU's made by AMD do get a job done. We can discuss windows 8 when it is released. I am sure it will be awesome but its not for sale yet. Anyway a CPU is a CPU, in other words, Windows 8 is not the reason AMD will be better than Intel. AMD is still fighting to keep up with socket 775. FM1 excluded if your comparing Graphics only.

@MrChilloffi Its a train wreck. You just can't take your eyes off it. "Enthusiasts?" Really! AMD started working on the Bulldozer in 2006. 5 years to make the FailDozer as one person put it. That makes you a failure as well. AMD does use DDR3 but only in Dual Channel not in Tripple or quad channel. Benchmarks are fun but they are worthless! Price point? You get what you pay for.

Speed means nothing if the architecture is no good. Especially if you need helium or nitrogen to achieve them. Reviews mostly shows these as close but not quite the performance of an i5 2500k. That's a quad core beating out an octa core.
