I've bowled for 11 years. Most of which I bowled one handed, I switched to 2 handed bowling, my avg went up from about 194 to like a 210. Bowled my first 300 bowling 2 handed. You throw a good ball, try picking ur speed up a bit more, you'll go Brooklyn a lot less
very good. I have to say two hand bowling is the way to go. my highest score is 258 thanks to two hand bowling. screw the form!!!! who needs form if you are comfortable and consistent!!!! only results matter.
He's good, but notice on the approach he isn't always consistent, and he does go brooklyn a lot, try throwing over the gutter if you have to or throw more speed in the mix.
get a higher back swing and maybe you will be able to get enough ball speed to keep it on the right side of the head pin. your not bad for how shot u have been a two hander but u def need to learn to cut back on revs and tip and get a big increase in ball speed
Come on, man. I am also a 2-handed bowler, but for the love of God, don't post videos of yourself throwing brooklyns and then say that you need to compensate by switching to a 13-pound ball. Stick with a 15-pounder and crank up the speed, or maybe go to a 16 pound plastic. 2-handed bowling creates more RPMs by its very nature, so that rotation must be countered with power. Are you man enough? If your answer is to use a 13-pound reactive from the girls' clearance rack, then I'm afraid not.
I could imagine with weird lane conditions this type of bowling would just downright suck. Imagine all the oil carry at most normal lanes, you couldn't predict the balls angle well enough and you'd leave some pretty crappy splits.
I tried bowling two handed and I kept getting brooklyn side. It seems like you get so many revs on house lanes that it is difficult to hit the pocket.
well its not a bad shot just need to work on getting ball speed up and revs down. the only time that many revs are going to do you any good is on a house shot and you cant even keep the ball on the right side of the head pin on this house shot so maybe they wont ever help you. also learn how to hit a target
Hey i have some tips bro, i'm 15 and just switched over to two hands, when bowling two handed don't follow through across your body, follow through out because naturally your hand will get the revs, and get it farther down the lane and not out more.
@powerbowler Bro how often do u bowl at kallang bowl? I've never seen powerful 2 handed bowlers b4 in alleys, where else do u normally bowl n how often?
@powerbowler Very nice bro. I've been bowling for 2 months now and just recently got it figured out. I tell ya, it was frustrating to see the ball go into the gutter most of the time, but now I just throw and everything clicks together. It's like my mind is completely blank while I'm on the approach.
Overall nice form, great balance. I would only suggest generating more power from the legs and trying to get a higher backswing. Oh, and maybe you should try to find some lanes with a bit more oil to practice on, it will increase your accuracy.
I've tried this on a dry lane. Couldn't throw hard enough. I could see myself trying this on really heavy oil but my one-handed rpms and an aggressive ball are usually sufficient.
Because i've been bowling two handed pretty much my whole life and can throw on any lane condition....To me dry is a little easier depending on the revs you got and how fast.
Check osku or belmo, they need alot of speed for all those rotations and speed is what they have.... they have a little jump in there approach to generate that speed. All i see is someone who's happy he can throw a ball with hook on a typical house pattern..... everybody can do that "powerbowler"
try it on difficult shot instead of a disneylandpattern..... here you can mis 10-15 boards and still hit pocket even then you throw broaklyns lmao.... try sportshots were you got 1-2 boards for error. Then we will c how good you are with your twingrip "powerbowler" lmao i like your name
bowling tough guy. at least the guy has the stones to put up vids of himself and not edit out the brooklyns and so forth like most other ass clowns on youtube.
If u knockers and hate mongers bother to read Powebowler's info, he's only been at it for 3.5 months. I think thats extremely bloody good for that short period of time. Remember he is not the finished product yet, early days for a 2 hander..
Can I see some of your videos, and then we can all rip your bowling apart?? Very poor form.
@looseleftie idk man. i bowled 1 handed for like 10 years and started bowling 2 handed for the fun of it. pretty much stayed the same average wise. could still hit a mark and make spares. guess its just easier for some than others
You're absolutely right. On house shot I really do have almost 12 boards to play with (stays in the oil long enough or gets to the dry just in time) but PBA pattern tore me up.
i understand that brooklyn is gettin more carry for u but i would work on your ball speed and putting a little more forward roll on the ball instead of so much axis rotation. and possibly a less reactive ball. if u can control the ball and get it in the 1-3 consistently it will help u throw more strikes. plus your high rev rate will help give u a pretty good margin of error
There's enough Belmo & Osku videos on youtube showing the skip steps; some of my videos are in slow-mo, so that should help a bit. I've even got a slower-motion video, watch?v=AWfwkhRJXBs
These will give you a headstart in learning the skip-step.
Frankly, I don't see the skip-step as essential. There're some very good 2-handed bowlers who don't skip-slide.
i have noticed other changes with my game with the two handed release. My track is either between my fingers or sometimes just to the left of the left finger insert. this is dependent on how i place my palm on the ball. If the fleshy part at the base of the thumb is over the thumb hole the ball track is more to the left of the finger inset. If the thumbhole is more in the middle of the base of my palm then the track is between the fingers.
Just curious, which side of the thumb does the track run? Are you having a full-roller track and what is your PAP for 2-handed now?
I hadn't really re-drill any of my balls and when I hold the ball, the thumbhole rests on the fleshy part at base of thumb. My track runs to the left or over the middle finger hole, never between the 2 finger holes.
You should really use a ball that's not so aggressive if you want to keep that much on the ball. Not even Belmonte will throw the high end stuff, too much friction.
How about doing a new video mate, so we can all see the changes in your game.. I'm 6 months into two handed, loving it!!! Good to see how u are progressing with a video. I'm sure all two handers (especially the newbies ti this) would really be interested in seeing it.
Just a thought. Peace.
Like your point Powlerbowler about being inconsistant with the releae of a one handed delivery. I found that too. Since going two hands, ave up and rising. Far more consistant with release.
not gonna lie this dude is garbage you put a bad name to the game my friend talkin bout throwing it brooklyn and not leavin 7-10s nd ten pins dude learn bowling then bowl ya garbage my friend
I can throw a plastic ball end-over-end(straight) with 2 fingers for single pin leaves. More than 1 pin, I'll throw it hard and fast with 3 fingers; hopefully the flying pins take each other out.
What I mean is that bowling has got too many inconsistencies. We need to make everything as consistent as possible. With the twingrip release, can you consistently release the same way with the correct amount of speed and projection required as compared to a single hand release?I think it would take years to accurately adjust your ball speed with your style. Belmo and Osku have been doing it since they were kids & even now Osku isn't very consistent.
Years ago, when I was learning the single-hand method, I was not as consistent in the release as I am now learning the 2-handed release. Taking the thumb out of the picture reduces inconsistencies in the release, believe it or not. Also, release is not everything, need to take into account approach, timing etc for consistency.
Unlike traditional game, Osku plays the modern game of speed & revs; so as long as he throws into the correct zone, he gets away with it even tho he wasn't consistent.
In my 2-handed release, I am only using ONE hand to impart revs to the ball. The other hand is solely for support. I hope you're not thinking that 2-handed release means using 2 hands to impart revs, although I must admit I am experimenting with it. I believe Belmo uses his left hand in a way and not solely for supporting the bal during the approach/delivery.
how about like using a ball with less bite? i'm facing big problems with my hook also, i only use my reactive which is a pin slasher on very oily lanes.
on drier lanes, i don't waste my time and dump pin slasher for a columbia 300 wd....
I mean ah.. how to say ah.. but I thought spinner is a straight shot with the ball spinning verticaly?? Isn't that a normal hook?? But still incredible anyway.
When I converted to 2 hands, the track on my ball has become that of inverted. This changes my PAP to 4.5" over and 1" down. Its a clear 2" from my old PAP and effectively this adds to the PIN distance for all my ball layouts. Eg my Storm ball has a PIN distance 5" when I am using 3-fingers. Using 2-fingers only with the same ball, the PIN distance is 7" from new PAP. This probably caused my ball to go longer and is the best explanation (to watt080's question) why my ball goes out more than his.
i may be wrong but i suggest you use a less hook potential ball or a proactive. your high revs make your ball turn suddenly on a rotation that most of the times will make a hole - split... Something else is you could simply adjust your palm's direction during the release. Try having your point finger at 1 o'clock maybe instead of 11 or 12... Tell me what you think.
The object of a 2 handed release isnt about how much you can hook the ball, but how you control it. The best two handers throw it hard and relatively straight. You should watch Belmonte and take notes.
Relatively straight? lmfao thats the craziest thing I ever heard... I watched the guy all week at dick weber open and he hooks the ball more then anyone by far hands down.... Robert Smith, Tommy Jones, Sean Rash they aren't even in his league... He throws it hard because he hooks it so much thats why. You should watch belmonte and take notes because you obviously have never seen him bowl if you think he throws it straight.
What Seligman says is actually correct. You my friend is the one that should take notes. It is about control. Robert Smith, Tommy Jones and Rash ARE in the same league as Belmonte. Actually Smiths rev rate is in the 600's while usually Belmonte's is in the the high 500's.
Yeah we all can get strikes in a row, I've done a lot. I've played in Tournaments against state champs. But since their so used to getting strikes, so once they get a 10 pin or a split they can't pick it up. Same here you had a split and you threw your strike ball...Not very vise, you have to work on your spares, spares can you win you the game.
yeah i though a puuurty large hook with my fury and i decided to go for a two handed approach and i have to use my 14lb tropical storm to do it... to many revs on it to use the fury and its waay to heavy to keep up the pace with it... but im having trouble keeping it out on the outside any tips because you let yours slide out there and i dont i just set it down out there with enough rev that it just snaps on the end... any tips would be veery helpful... thanks a ton
You're probably playing on dry or burnout lanes. You just need to throw the ball where the most oil is from an inside line, so the ball go longer. Aim for the gap between the corner 10pin and the side wall. If your revs are what you said you have, there is no gutter for you.
I Like to go 3rd arrow standing on 26 board, and I use a Fury. But like PB said if lanes are dry drive it across the 20 board from waaayyyy outta bounds depending on dryness
For single right-side pin leave, I'll throw it straight. I've got one shot in my other video Pt3.2 where I went for the 10-pin on the second 7-10 split.
I also play the backup ball or use a plastic ball(small hook) depending on the lane conditions.
Great to see that older balls of Storm still got a great reaction... I got my Shock Trauma reserfaced 2 times.. and it still is better then balls of other brands! I would have an terrible roll-out if i trow this line haha... Unless i ll keep it up to speed.. But then i dont think it will make the pocket... :)
I saw some players playing withh the twin grip and it looks great. But to play a difficult pattern.. it gets even more difficult.. At this video you got a really insane ballreaction! :) But there sure is a house shot?!!!
Hey I watched your 300 games:) and you're realli realli good!
Yes its 39ft medium oiling. If I pushed it hard the ball can get to the 1st board and into the 1-3 pocket otherwise the ball will turn at 5th board, cross over to the other pocket and still strike because of the high revs ;)
Good question. I usually play the outside line with the traditional method, not two-handed. I will try making a video of playing the outside line using both methods on a left lane.
dude make your body more stable through out the approach and stop trying to force so much power and you will be pretty good

But like PB said if lanes are dry drive it across the 20 board from waaayyyy outta bounds depending on dryness

do you have trouble picking up right side spares?
tpsabres 3 years ago

What about the outside lines? You can play them aswell??
DaveBais 3 years ago
Good question. I usually play the outside line with the traditional method, not two-handed. I will try making a video of playing the outside line using both methods on a left lane.

Looking good. Some good breaks and some very harsh ones. Thats the only problem going in to the pocket with that kinda power.
I do like the coast to coast look you got going on though. What ball are you throwing?

Am using X Factor Re-Loaded from Storm.
Coast to coast, I like the way you put it :).
One thing though,I'll never get a 7-10 split or corner pin leave when the ball crosses to Brooklyn.
