How insane is it that you can buy a Sansa MP3 player with a 5-band equalizer for $20, yet Apple refuses to include any real equalizer at all on an iPod Touch which costs anywhere from $200 to $400? The preset settings like "Rock" or "Bass Boost" are absolutely useless for anyone who really cares about how their music sounds.
Man this app is amazing. As it stands it's a total iPod music app for iPhone/iPad/iPod replacer. Great features, slick design, well worth it. Thanks again, don't stop on the features, but don't change anything either!
Thanks guys, this is a great app, been waiting for something like this. What is wrong with Apple, they could not put a spectrum display and a great eq on their I-Pod Touch and I-Pads? What a joke. Instead, they give you a crappy eq on the i-pod. For people with big brains over there at Apple, they are pretty stupid at the same time. All media should have this on their products.
@seanchana42 You need to play the music through the EQu app. It isn't possible to have another "music player app" and mix this with other developers app.
Very nicely done, works great to adjust with curves instead of individual channel sliders and a treat to see such a beautiful GUI - works within the Apple way but not the same old standard way.
Only thing I think would improve the app is if you could see album covers in the Album view section for faster selection of your music when scrolling through long lists.

I don't want another ipod-like app but rather a simple EQ that can be applied to any app that is playing music, like webradioapps, last.fm, plugplayer etc...

Hi! I just purchased your app and so far I really, really like it! just have a question... it says that background playback is not recommended on the 3GS... why?
@kantjd thank you for buying our app. :-) Equ is using lot of CPU (central processing unit )The 3GS has less CPU power than the newer versions. We don't know how many other apps you may run in the background. You can play EQu on the 3GS with background on, but maybe in combination with your other apps, EQU may "stotter". Thats why we don't recommended it. :D
Does this app support Spotify too? Since there's no buit-in eq I'd like to have an alternative, and does the app run in the background in parallell to Spotify/iPod or does run in background AS foreground and thus draining battery? I'd only want this app for the sound, I'd rather not actively use it for everytime i want to listen to music - rather let it run as soon as i turn on music in Spotify/iPod.
@Ohem1 EQu is an app that runs with your music from your iPod/iPhone/iPad. EQu runs also in background mode. Unfortunately it isn't possible "to mix" the app with Spotify or with the iPod player due to developers restrictions.

great app exept it hardly ever works. I have ipod 4th gen and when i try to start the app it crashes to the home screen. Tried restarting the ipod but the only way i can get it to work is to reinstall it which sucks because then i lose all my presets. When i reinstall it then it only works for a day or so and then same problem.

GREAT APP! One wish for the next update: Gapless playback. Very often i listen the music of Enigma and each of the tracks blend into each other. It's just a little bit disappointing to have a little break between the tracks.
Sometimes, actually pretty often now, after a song ends and it goes to the next song it will just play one second of the song and just keep going to the next song which is unbelievably annoying. sometimes it stops when i pause the song for a while but usually it won't stop until I restart my whole ipod...

How can i do a downgrade? I restart the device but the same happens, all of my music I can only listen to almost half, the others only begin to sound like 2 seconds and then jump to the next song, i want to do a downgrade since i don't need the fast forward feature for now because like this, the app is useless for me. The cutting problem is fixed just for a while with restart.

Try rebooting your device (this can help to make memory free), it is impossible to say what exactly happened because to day with multi tasking a lot of apps are open and they all have access to the CPU. We are working on EQu and optimize it as much as we can.:-)

I do not have songs in my ipod.however,i have songs downloaded from the "downloads" application,and eQu doesnt work on them.Any other specific ways to make it useful for me?
The app crashes all the time this is how we reach you through you tube come on now wish i could get my money back . You have to use safe head room if you don't want it to pop all the time from distortion then you lose dynamics and you cant give it any bass , the volume is WAY below standard it plays all the songs i have selected not to shuffle. I pay for an app you would think it would at least not crash all the time. And don't even try to multitask. If gonna sell an app make it work first
@wahr1 Well eh.... not on all systems and not completely. There is a bug in the iOS why we can't access all remote controls in a stable way. We have send a report to Apple and we hope they will fix this asap.
Problem. I have a 3rd gen Ipod touch, updated fully with latest version of itunes and operating software.
When it 'worked' it was amazing but now it will crash at the load screen 100 percent of the time. I've rebooted my system, closed programs, all the 'standard' stuff so it is not that.
I've also deleted the app and reinstalled it which works for awhile and then the same issue arises after a few days.
It's a fantastic app but it is completely unusable at the moment. Please help.
@1love2r3ad Oeps! The app should not crash of course..... Try rebooting your device, this will clean up memory issues and the app should run smoothly.
about the volume you are right, it is slightly lower then the iPod player, but this is the only way an equalizer can work...
and the restart of a song in the beginning is also true. We are working on an update to fix this. coming soon!
i've downloaded this app and loved it, but also noticed that the volume coming out through EQu is noticeably lower than the volume normally played through iPod. Is this normal? or is there any solutions for this
@bbangsang1234 Yes, this in normal behavior. Actually this is normal behavior for ALL equalizers. We have two different modes (Settings) you can choose between "Loud" and "Save". In "Save" the volume is noticeable lower but the chance that you get distortion is very small. In "Loud" the volume is much higher but the chance you will have to adjust the gain to avoid distortion is higher.
finally found something that can vaguely resemble SRS WOW, for iPhone, but I ran into a problem. I have a massive build up of saved EQs, and now i dont know how to get rid of them. Youd think that naming one of your new custom saved EQs would replace an older one wiht the same name, but no. It asks you to rename it to another name.
@elgonzalovs EQu is using a lot of CPU, if your device is doing some networking or other application it might appear indeed. Try rebooting your device, then a lot of memory will come free again!

Is there a way to make the songs coming out of EQu louder while docked? I have the iPod Volume Limit turned off and it's at the max volume. But it's still too low.
As a result, the music is played too low and I have to pump up my car radio's volume dial WAY higher then I like - which causes excess static and noise coming out of the speakers.
@Netherscourge I'm not sure. In the USA the iPod is louder then in Europe. What you could do is give EQu less headroom (in Settings), the volume will be higher. But distortion will occur more frequently.

I hope in a new version it works for IPOD TOUCH 2G and the Bass Booster sound like the SONY MEGABASS, because the Ipod Touch EQ Bass Booster doesn't compare with SONY MEGABASS.
@nostradamusgrinch real sorry but the the iPod touch 2G cannot run this program. The chip of the 2G touch iPod cannot cope. thank you for your comment.
Really like this app, it has improved the sound quality in my car 10 fold.
If I may, I'd like to make some request/suggestions:
- Add track seeking. If I'm listening to a 2 hour mix, I like to skip parts.
- Ability to save over an EQ. I load up "My EQ", but then make an adjustment, I'd like to save over "My EQ", rather than having to delete the old one first
- add repeat, random, a "now playing" playlist features
- add the ability to control it via the home button double tap controls

I'am afraid that developers have no acces to the home button controls, only Apple has. We need to adjust the user interface of EQu to add new buttons. please be patient we are working on this. :-)
This... app... is BEAST! I mainly use it for XTREME BASS! And trust me, it does make somewhat bass-y songs EAR BLOWING! I have a Sony MDR XB-500 and with the bass and volume cranked up all the way with mid and treble to the minimum, it's indescribably AMAZING! I had to show it to EVERY SINGLE ONE OF MY FRIENDS and they were all speechless with a smile on their face. One of my friends described, "Damn, this thing has more bass than a car stereo!" RECOMMENDED TO ALL. It has a lot of bugs though.
I just bought this wonderful app. I got new headphones that were made for bass but the regular ipod EQ doesn't do a good job of boosting it. This app really gets the job done. I recommend this to everyone

GREAT APP! One wish for the next update: Gapless playback. Very often i listen the music of Enigma and each of the tracks blend into each other. It's just a little bit disappointing to have a little break between the tracks.

Sometimes, actually pretty often now, after a song ends and it goes to the next song it will just play one second of the song and just keep going to the next song which is unbelievably annoying. sometimes it stops when i pause the song for a while but usually it won't stop until I restart my whole ipod...

How can i do a downgrade? I restart the device but the same happens, all of my music I can only listen to almost half, the others only begin to sound like 2 seconds and then jump to the next song, i want to do a downgrade since i don't need the fast forward feature for now because like this, the app is useless for me. The cutting problem is fixed just for a while with restart.

The only problem that I find annoying is the cut when you open another application and sometimes stops working. I'm using ipod touch 4th.

Try rebooting your device (this can help to make memory free), it is impossible to say what exactly happened because to day with multi tasking a lot of apps are open and they all have access to the CPU. We are working on EQu and optimize it as much as we can.:-)

The app crashes all the time this is how we reach you through you tube come on now wish i could get my money back . You have to use safe head room if you don't want it to pop all the time from distortion then you lose dynamics and you cant give it any bass , the volume is WAY below standard it plays all the songs i have selected not to shuffle. I pay for an app you would think it would at least not crash all the time. And don't even try to multitask. If gonna sell an app make it work first

Indeed multi tasking can be issue (we do not recommend this on the 3GS) The chip is not fast enough.

@wahr1 Well eh.... not on all systems and not completely. There is a bug in the iOS why we can't access all remote controls in a stable way. We have send a report to Apple and we hope they will fix this asap.

Problem. I have a 3rd gen Ipod touch, updated fully with latest version of itunes and operating software.
When it 'worked' it was amazing but now it will crash at the load screen 100 percent of the time. I've rebooted my system, closed programs, all the 'standard' stuff so it is not that.
I've also deleted the app and reinstalled it which works for awhile and then the same issue arises after a few days.
It's a fantastic app but it is completely unusable at the moment. Please help.

Our app tends to freeze sometimes on corrupt files (it is a bug in the media player from Apple)
The best way is to reboot your device.
If you know on which song the app was stuck, please be so kind to mail me that file. This will help us to repair the bug.
In the next update we already have made some improvements to read corrupt files but please understand that there are many kinds of corrupt...
This update will come really soon...........

@1love2r3ad Oeps! The app should not crash of course..... Try rebooting your device, this will clean up memory issues and the app should run smoothly.
about the volume you are right, it is slightly lower then the iPod player, but this is the only way an equalizer can work...
and the restart of a song in the beginning is also true. We are working on an update to fix this. coming soon!

i've downloaded this app and loved it, but also noticed that the volume coming out through EQu is noticeably lower than the volume normally played through iPod. Is this normal? or is there any solutions for this

@bbangsang1234 Yes, this in normal behavior. Actually this is normal behavior for ALL equalizers. We have two different modes (Settings) you can choose between "Loud" and "Save". In "Save" the volume is noticeable lower but the chance that you get distortion is very small. In "Loud" the volume is much higher but the chance you will have to adjust the gain to avoid distortion is higher.

finally found something that can vaguely resemble SRS WOW, for iPhone, but I ran into a problem. I have a massive build up of saved EQs, and now i dont know how to get rid of them. Youd think that naming one of your new custom saved EQs would replace an older one wiht the same name, but no. It asks you to rename it to another name.

@1337c4mp3r Hi, to delete EQ-settings just slide your finger from left to right over the name of the setting; a delete button will appear.....
And the fact that we ask you to rename is a good thing ( we think) because in this manner you do not accidentally delete one of your EQ-settings....

i will like to have some preset about soundstage, and if you like for some of the more knowns sounds signatures

Hi, i'm using version 1.1.3, i'm very happy with this app, my music really shines now ¡¡¡.
Somethings don't work properly, i hope in next uptate will be solved:
- the background playback usually makes the music "jumps" for some seconds, disagreable.
- if you don't uses keep display on, like me, when display goes off, again, the music "jumps", for some seconds
- when you open another app in the background playback, again, your music jumps.

@elgonzalovs EQu is using a lot of CPU, if your device is doing some networking or other application it might appear indeed. Try rebooting your device, then a lot of memory will come free again!

Great app. However, I have a question.
Is there a way to make the songs coming out of EQu louder while docked? I have the iPod Volume Limit turned off and it's at the max volume. But it's still too low.
As a result, the music is played too low and I have to pump up my car radio's volume dial WAY higher then I like - which causes excess static and noise coming out of the speakers.

@Netherscourge I'm not sure. In the USA the iPod is louder then in Europe. What you could do is give EQu less headroom (in Settings), the volume will be higher. But distortion will occur more frequently.

I hope in a new version it works for IPOD TOUCH 2G and the Bass Booster sound like the SONY MEGABASS, because the Ipod Touch EQ Bass Booster doesn't compare with SONY MEGABASS.

Really like this app, it has improved the sound quality in my car 10 fold.
If I may, I'd like to make some request/suggestions:
- Add track seeking. If I'm listening to a 2 hour mix, I like to skip parts.
- Ability to save over an EQ. I load up "My EQ", but then make an adjustment, I'd like to save over "My EQ", rather than having to delete the old one first
- add repeat, random, a "now playing" playlist features
- add the ability to control it via the home button double tap controls

I'am afraid that developers have no acces to the home button controls, only Apple has. We need to adjust the user interface of EQu to add new buttons. please be patient we are working on this. :-)

This... app... is BEAST! I mainly use it for XTREME BASS! And trust me, it does make somewhat bass-y songs EAR BLOWING! I have a Sony MDR XB-500 and with the bass and volume cranked up all the way with mid and treble to the minimum, it's indescribably AMAZING! I had to show it to EVERY SINGLE ONE OF MY FRIENDS and they were all speechless with a smile on their face. One of my friends described, "Damn, this thing has more bass than a car stereo!" RECOMMENDED TO ALL. It has a lot of bugs though.

I just bought this wonderful app. I got new headphones that were made for bass but the regular ipod EQ doesn't do a good job of boosting it. This app really gets the job done. I recommend this to everyone
