The first time I read this book (a few months ago...) I read it in one day! I just couldn't put it down! Tomorrow I'm going to Chapters first thing to get the sequel! Can't wait!

@cakecrumb095 Huh. I don't really see that much of a similarity between the two. Girls with powers, yeah. But there just isn't anything that similar about the two in my opinion.

@princessystuff Well I just started reading tha book a week ago and I found that a lot of it was really similar. Stuff like they are both 16, live in the same time era, have knowledge of some wierd world where everything is possible, some type of dangerous area connecting to that world, lack parental guidance, ect.

@cakecrumb095 I agree with you on those points but I think nowadays a lot of books are this way.. It's just some similarities between the girls I guess. But they still remain as extremely separate books in my opinion.. They're still two great books though! :) Have you finished the whole Gemma Doyle series?

@princessystuff Yeah I guess your right. I mean look at all the vampire stuff. I just look at all the vampire stuff. I think it's just that stuff like this is kinda rare. Yes I finished the whole Gemma Doyle trilogy two years ago and I loved them. The great and terrible beauty is one of my favorite books.

@cakecrumb095 I think those books that involve mythical legends, etc. are getting increasingly popular. Not that I mind. I'm a total fan of those books. Lots of my fave books are in that category too. :) And woah. ^^ I'm still left with The Sweet Far Thing. Pretty thick; don't wanna rush into it when I'm supposed to be preparing for exams.. Though, hell, I do wish I could drop everything! I'm sure it'll be a darn good book.

@princessystuff I hope they are becoming popular become thats my favorite genre. I still find it difficult to find one. I finished the sweet far thing in a week drung summer two years ago. It was very good but because it's so long you sometimes forget what happened and so it becomes complicated.

This was an absolutely brilliant book. The trailer really creates the perfect atmosphere for it and the two girls are how I envisioned Lia and Alice to look. I can't wait for Book Two: Guardian Of The Gate to be released. Its out just before I go on holiday next year so should keep me occupied on the flight.
