Sampling (in my opinion) helps revive the magical works of brothers like David Axelrod, who people may have forgotten 'bout through the flux of artists 'n diff'rent types of musical genres that were comin' about afta his time (musical career). To me, it's all 'bout how U sampled the music, 'n how U flip'n it in ur music. Jus' don't take 'n loop a big whole piece like how P. Diddy start'd doin' in his Bad Boy regime!!! To me, he kinda destroy'd the art of looping!!!

@emdott44 Yes sir...back in the early/mid 90s, I was a sampling phanatic (since I was a dj, I kno' mad songs of all kinds of genre; but when they start'd jackin' songs outright wit' no kinda direction wit' it (basically, abusing the laws of looping), I fell out from it, 'n start'd doin' more original stuff wit' bits 'n pieces of samples mix'd. But, I rememba when DJ Marley Marl & Ced Gee (from Ultramagnetic) was first pioneering the art of chop'n ur shit--that's how it was supposed to B done!!!

times and technology have changed bro, sampling came out of necessity as there weren't many other options short of real instruments. now with all the computer programs, vst's, mp3's p2p sites yada yada, its only natural for some things to branch into other directions. i hate the radio more than anyone and i usually prefer sampled tracks but im not opposed to non sampled joints if they're dope and not the radio garbage.
