@mangustabasso l'anno 1991 à Ginevra avevo visto 4 volte(il mio sistema é di vedere lo stesso spettacolo più di 2 volte,così so di che cosa parlo) Attila con Ramey e Paolo Coni che interpretava Ezio.La voce di Coni(chi aveva una voce ordinaria)era molto più importante e bella di quella di Ramey nella sala.

Vado à teatro dagli anni 50 e mi creda che Attila in questa epoca fu interpretato dai bassi...Neri,Christoff,Siepi,G­hiaurov...

Dal vivo Ramey aveva voce più piccola di Ghiuselev...

I have an anecdote with this aria. Humbly, but proudly I sang this aria, a capella, on May 2007. It was at a "Father & Daughter" party of the school of one of my daughters. Some funny considerations:

1) I prepared this aria during almost one year, rehearsing basically in my car while driving.

2) There were only two competitors. Fortunately I won the contest. The audience was about 400 people.

3) I sang at the end of the party, after dinner, dance, shouts & drinks. My voice was a disaster .

It's a true shame the MET did not engage Mr. Ramey for this role. What a huge disservice to NYC. Unbelievable.

@rojp08 I assume you're referring to the recent production. Mr. Ramey is 68 years old now, and no longer sings this role. I wish he were still singing Attila, too.
