The name was changed to 'Rhiannon - Curse of the Four Branches' at the insistence of the US publisher, who opined that US players might not be able to cope with the word 'Mabinogion'.
I'm not much of a game player... I haven't really seen much that grabs me since Riven and Myst, but I'll definately be on the look out for this, as a confirmed Cymruphile and lover of the old stories:-)
Coracleman, the themes of myth cannot be "pillaged" as you put it. The nature of myth is that it is taken and transformed by each successive generation. Tradition is not static, but fills the vessel of its time.
'Pillaged': a subjective term, from one who cannot possibly have seen the yet unpublished game. Coracleman cannot know that 'Rhiannon' pays glorious homage to the legends. When Lady Charlotte invented the term 'Mabinogion', that was no act of pillage, but of committing the legends to a new, future - as is involving them in a computer game, thus prolonging, broadening and enhancing their popularity. We've merely put the Four Branches into entertainment, which was their original, ancient purpose.
@TheSchizopodcaster: To the tens of thousands of people around the world who had never heard of the Mabinogion or the magnificent legends it contains - Schizo's comment translates to English roughly as 'Precisely', to echo Coracleman's opined disgust that we should tell the Four Branches legends in a new medium. Because of the game, you now all know more about the Mabinogion legends than you did. According to Coracleman and Schizopodcaster, this new prominence is a Bad Thing.
Bought this from Big Fish Games. This is a real gem. Great. Keep up this work, guys. Hope you'll come out with something like this soon.

Oh! I just bought this game. (Had to stop the video half way to try to not spoil anything ^_~)
The game is good so far but it's a bit picky about when you try to move about.
Does anyone know why they changed the name of the game?
