This song always makes me teary..

Saw BT do this live around 91 in Melbourne-was 21 at the time. Couldnt wait-got my ticket early as possible. On the morning of the show I hear my dear grandfather (he brought me up so my dad really) had died. Didnt know what to do-ended up going reluctantly, totally red-faced, drank too much (which I usually did at that age), and when they played this song bawled my eyes out. Always reminds me of him. Such a great song and beautiful lyrics.

I'm sure this song can mean different things to many people. It is so sad, but people can relate. So universal (like carol king) in feeling. Aside from that, the chord structure and arangement is one and only. Buffalo Tom hit the mark here which happens sometimes, but few can come up with a song so simple and endearing.
