thanks so much for this. I'm the 'adult' 120 minutes' what's showed my first wife real music. Haven't seen this since early 120 min - best show they ever pushed. Best 2 u.
@Crockman9 I'm sorry can you speak English? Certainly not the Queen's. What's gonna be fun is watching you squirm like the slug you are with salt on you're back - oh, you rock, salt that is. Love the attitude punkass.
Wonder how you'll pay for the FREE medi care that you get now. In your speak 'r u a stdnt? can u say mum n da? wypy wypy? crycry? You're parents are now at a golf 'outing' talking about their score and their day but not about you. You are shat - fuck with me no further thing that dreams to be a moth.
My first boyfriend introduced me to Buffalo Tom when we were in college.... seems a million years ago now. Great times. Thanks for posting it. Timeless!
Saw BT do this live around 91 in Melbourne-was 21 at the time. Couldnt wait-got my ticket early as possible. On the morning of the show I hear my dear grandfather (he brought me up so my dad really) had died. Didnt know what to do-ended up going reluctantly, totally red-faced, drank too much (which I usually did at that age), and when they played this song bawled my eyes out. Always reminds me of him. Such a great song and beautiful lyrics.
@snicks70 That's heavy, and way cool...to care about someone so much...Events and other events happen around each other in ways that make one wonder. God, I'm a piece of work! Thanks for sharing. :)
I must admit I never heard of them before. Well I'v heard this song before, but never knew who made it. Today stumbled upon it and searched for other songs of them. Pretty good band I must say.
My little girl was one when i bought this album , I cant believe she is now almost 18 .. and I miss he like hell ... How to make her understand what she ,means tom me
This song is one of my favourites. In fact, this video is surely a play back of the studio "Tailights Fade". U can find it on "Let Me Come Over" album of these bostonian incisive musicians.
This video takes me back to many a night leaning against the juke box at the Tote Hotel (Melbourne Aust} and understanding" feeling like a dinosaur" great song, great sentement. Love it.
Their only "mistake" was to come from the wrong, the (almost) horizontally opposite side to a certain American city. The same goes with MindFunk for example.
Perfect song for eveyday life. Not bleak just truthful and so, so honest.Listen to this paticulaaryy the''Watch my taillights fade to black'' line and rejoice in the brilance of Bill Janovitz
I am just listening to birdbrain and it struck me when thinking about three easy pieces. It's been a long time since they sounded like this. Unfortunately I think the chance they will make another great album is getting smaller and smaller, damn shame
Yes, indeed, definitely one of the best songs to come out of the 90's and my fave from these guys.
Did a radio show on a college station and would lose it when they go into the chorus. Flailing air guitar... expected them to find me laying on the floor from bonking my head on something.
Remember a break-up after a couple of years. Remember loading the U-Haul, and taking a final shower. One final hug, we did really love one another. Closed the door on the trailer and watched her drive away. She slowed and must have looked in her rear view mirror. I did watch those tail-lights, and saw my love drive away, slowly looking at me. Felt like driving away from my granparents, knowing this could be the last time I saw em. This song means someting to me.
okay... i agree they were great, but "ahead of their time"? how? what makes them ahead of their time? they were doing grungy melodic rock; great songs... not ahead of their time, though...
In their prime I never really paid much attention to them. I heard a few songs but nothing really struck me. This song however was an exception. I was blown away from the start. After all these years I should listen to their other material.
I'm sure this song can mean different things to many people. It is so sad, but people can relate. So universal (like carol king) in feeling. Aside from that, the chord structure and arangement is one and only. Buffalo Tom hit the mark here which happens sometimes, but few can come up with a song so simple and endearing.

If you are appreciative of Buffalo Tom, give the band Tribe a listen. Also from the late 80s early 90s.
Like Buffalo Tom, they were way ahead f their time back then. Deep, full sound. A real treat. There are a few vids up here.
