  • the ones who should be put down are the ones who are leaving stupid messages to this lady. This horse is happy and living a happy life.

  • this is absolutely amazing. and i dont like to use bad works, but all of you that say this horse should be put down? WELL FUCK OFF.. im sorry but this horse is living AND HAPPY right now because of that leg, she gets along just fine and is as beautiful as ever. if someone would have just done what most horse owners would have done, and put her down, then she obvi. wouldnt be here right now.i apploud her owner and the vets who created this greatly for giving this beautiful pony a second chance:DD

  • This is amazing!! Most horses are put down with a broken leg. How is this possible without causing lamanitis (example, Barbaro, R.I.P.), which is what horses usually get when there is an impropper weight distribution in the legs? Why is it that, when an artificial leg is possible for a horse, horses are put down for leg injuries?

  • @Transfmrsrulz It depends on the type of fracture, severity, location and other involved structures, temperament of horse, prognosis etc whether treatment is worthwhile to attempt, oh and the attitude/business of the owners is a very important factor! Laminitis is not fully understood, but it is wonderful to see a horse with a prosthetic limb doing well.

  • @kaeso100 Good points.

  • @Transfmrsrulz it depends on the horse, I think. One of my Welsh Cobs was put down because of a fracture in his right cannon bone, because he got laminitis in his other legs and I decided that it'd be much less painful and easy if he were to go. He was laminitis-prone, so I knew that it was likely he'd get it. One of my friend's horses survived two fractures though, and he's still going strong.

  • If anyone is interested in this, you should read "The Outside of a Horse" by Ginny Rorby, which I just finished last night. I won't give anything away, but the ending is pretty cool.

  • Yay for pony! Horses have to be able to stand on four limbs in order to live. Usually they put the equine down if it gets a broken leg.

  • @CanadiaNecro1 They usually try and fix it first. Not all horses are put down. If it's a simple break they'll fix it.

  • Press 7 for derp.

  • Bet the pitbulls still smiling ;)

  • omg! i remember this in an email! she was attacked my a pitbull and the injury was so bad they had to amputate the leg. and they gave her a prosthetic leg. and on the botton of the "hoof" is a smiley face so she can leave a smile every where she goes... cute story..

  • Wow! This is really great.

  • she is just adorable ..... if I could I would love her forever! <3

  • i read in a magazine that molly got attacked by dogs

  • @ThePawted That horse isn't worthless! Molly is worth a lot to some people so just keep your stupid comments to yourself. No animal should be murdered for a human need. So just the fuck up you bitch!

  • @ThePawted shut the fuck up! NO ANIMAL should be murdered for just a human

    'need' you jackass!

  • @ThePawted retard!!! how would u like it if one of ure family members only had 1 leg and sumone sed send them to the glue factory or KILL them!!!!!!!

  • NO WAY!!! i want one in case my horse breaks a leg

  • @HoofPrintedHeart88 And if your horse breaks a leg, hopefully you will think wisely about what will actually beneift it, not just slap on a prosthetic.

  • @Thowsmom you know this pony has been through enough..she isnt in pain from it..if you read her story its sad..she is happy and isnt dead..so why dont you not always think about the quicker way..just beacause its easier doesnt mean its better

  • @bridlelessgirl

I wasnt talking about THIS horse, i was commenting on someone else, so please learn to read what people are saying before trying to act critical.

And i am also an Equine Vet Nurse, so i'm pretty certain i understand the processes. Thanks.

  • @Thowsmom well what you said was still harsh.

  • @bridlelessgirl Actually, it wasnt. Automatically deciding that whatever happens to their horse, they will shove a prosthetic on their horse, is foolish and stupid. Is pointing that out 'harsh'? no it isnt.

  • @Thowsmom I don't think the person who said they wanted one just in case meant that, no matter what, she'd use a prosthetic. I think she was only getting at the fact that it's great to be able to keep her horse alive and happy should she ever need to. You need to realize the person who said it is only 14- there's no need to be so rude about it. If you're an equine vet like you say you are, I sure hope you're a lot nicer to your patients than you are to people on Youtube...

  • @LoriTheGorey

    *nurse

  • @LoriTheGorey Sadly this is called the grown up world, and children getting idea's that they can add on prosthetics is where such crass welfare groups start. People need to learn early it is sadly a very shit world out there.

And surely at the age of 14, someone should be a little more wise that the horse comes first. Obviously not.

  • @Thowsmom It's not a shit world out there- you're just a bitter old bitch. Giving this horse/pony, or any other animal for that matter, a second chance by using the mircales of modern day science is a -good- thing and I applaud that child for loving her animal enough to try to save its life. How is saving its life -not- putting it first? Take the stick outta your ass and try not to bring everyone else down with your bitterness, okay? YOU and people like you are what makes the world so shitty

  • @LoriTheGorey

    MIRACLES* Dang, I can't spell!

  • @LoriTheGorey That's really cute. Many immature kid's resort to insults, you just added to that. Well done!

I'm hardly bitter, or old. I've also saved no doubt 10x the lives you have, so don't waste time attempting to lecture me. Animal welfare comes first, regardless of what we want and it is people who are determined to 'live let live' who cause the greatest suffering and make everything martyrs. Try considering the world around you before trying to give it a noble status.

  • @Thowsmom Really? Do you have to be so rude? Yes, as many immature kids (NOT kid's; learn your grammar, lady)result to insults, many ADULTS do, as well. About your comment... whoever that is just think that prosthetic limbs IS helping animal welfare. I, personally, take their side, even though you're a vet. And who said everything was a martyr? Martyrs choose that they want to have faith in what they believe. It's not just every other person out there. Get where I'm going?

  • awe good for her

  • Guau aunque da lastima pobre sito poni :(

  • that prosthetic toe is awesome :P

  • Great success to show those cute little kids. :)

  • This horse is a miracle. I got an e-mail about her and was astounded by her bravery and happiness even after that happened. Molly is one in a million.

  • Wow, I am impressed! That's an ingenius prosthesis. Oh, and thanks for the warning Weird... we'll keep our cute kids away from you.

  • this is such a cute video but i ahte little kids

  • how many did you eat?

  • XD i meant hate lol i type fast

  • That's a wonder in itself, but I'd like to see them manage to do that for a horse - much more weight...
