It is possible it couild be a loose cable but I doubt it. I know exactly what lag you are talking about. I have an 06 525exc and the piece does the same exact thing. Not making any alterations to the setup like re-routing a certain crak case breather and cap off the carb..... I used JD jet kit - boysen quick shot - power now both pieces I can still make such snap and get a slight hess. but it is 90% gone.
