Had one of these and the dumper as a child in the 70's. Countless hours of entertainment. A few years later it stopped working though despite new batteries and so of course I had to take it apart, which I had wanted to do upon first getting it.
These things were like 60 or 70 bucks new when they came out and the dumper was around 40 or 50. Lionel Playworld was where my mom got mine. They'd build up static on carpets and drain the batteries quick, but were a fun toy when young!
Holy!!! I had one of these and thought it was coolest toys I ever had. I spent hours trying out different moves you could program in the thing. It mysteriously disappeared one day and I suspect it was given away. I couldn't recall what it was but now I know after seeing this vid.
I remember thinking this was the shit as a kid, but as an adult I can feel pity for any parent that had to listen to that god-awful, headache inducing noise 24/7!
if anyone out there is interested in a big trak i have one and im thinking about selling it to any1 world wide. please send me a pm. mine is white but without trailer and has all the manuals too. in working order with very little wear. bit on one sticker.
Awesome dude!! What a great toy. Those sounds totally bring me back. I am bidding on one right now on ebay!! They are going for around $120 bucks. Vintage baby!!
I love this toy. I had one for a few months when I was 10. I got brave one day and programmed it on a table. Unfortunately, I told it to go too far and it fell off and broke. My transport never worked, don't know why. I loved my Big Track and wish I had one again.
I totally forgot about this toy. What ever happened to it? Damn mom probably threw it out. This was my most favourite toy ever, and now seeing it in action again with the sounds and the laser bring me right back. I need to get another one!! eBay, here I come.
I still have my big trak, no longer have the trailer, wish I still did, one of the best things I was ever bought as a kid, very educational as you had to know how many degrees in a turn to get it to do what you wanted, I so wish I still had the trailer.

I always wanted the trailer, but it might as well have been unobtanium as an 8 year old. Still, I thought the tank was the bee's knees.

Holy crap, I had one of these! I also had the dump truck add-on. Got this, along with my Atari 2600, Christmas of 1979. :)
I just programmed it to do random stuff, like turn and shoot it's laser thingy. I was never any good at programming it to do anything complicated.

God damn the gears in that thing are loud. I bet it was fun as hell to fuck with the family cat and dog with that thing.

I had it with the trailer, what an amazing toy,
great to hear the tit- tut- tit- tut- sound when it finished the sequence, I forgot it did it.
