No, Verex's eyes glow like that when he is angry or wishes to intimidate someone. It's one of the results of his mutation.

Zomahk is one of Scotttjt's older MOCS. He was the Makuta of Archosa, though was later killed by Makuta Miserix whilst meeting up with another Makuta on Stelt. That's why everybody's surprised.
