I believe is live. Look carefully to the veins in her neck. they get bigger when she is hitting the higher notes. Every time you sing and is using air and notes get higher that naturally happens.
Mariah is one of the few pop artists today who puts out a Christmas album with classic/traditional Christmas songs...I prefer the classics over the poppish/auto-tuned remakes anyday!

i remember watching this live on TV, i was literally jumping on my bed with chills all over my body, i never felt so excited in my life, not only i was happy for her baby bump but also for magnificent voice which got better after a long rest. THANKS TO THE TWINS!!! they keeps her healthy and happy. I think this was 100 and 10% live, looking at the way she sang and her gestures, unlike the time when she sang My All in Russia, that was lipped (Russian singers lip sync a lot and ppl don't mind)

She did sing live but it is dubbed like her Performance @ the Proctor Theatre. But, you can find the undubbed version on youtube and she sounds wonderful. Minor mistakes but still stunning.
Why does the audio sound really strange during this whole concert? It seems part dubbed part mimed to me but even when she's speaking she sounds weird...I can't get me head around what it could be. Some are saying live auto-tune but I' not sure...Thoughts??
@mariahmadrileno I think it's just the way it's recorded or uploaded or whatever. It sounds like the user put it on a function that picks up vocals better. It sounds crazy in my headphones. Kind of like if I turned my surround sound on 'concert hall' or something.

Everybody knows that she doesn't like to belt and therefore she uses a lot of breathy effects, which made her loose some voice quality. that's it.
@elciozoo I'm not meaning to sound patronising, but a lot of people don't seem to know what auto tune actually is. A lot of people confuse it with filters and reverb. I'm not saying you definitely have, however Mariah didn't use any enhancing tool for her belts on this album. If she had, her voice would have sounded a lot lighter and thinner. Also, if you listen carefully at 2:07, she belts live (only for a few seconds) and evidently isn't using auto tune.
2:09 - 2:13 & 2:32 - 2:52 this is my favorite song on the album because of these bars :) MC4EVR I effing love her pitch there... eee! i remember watching this live on TV, i was literally jumping on my bed with chills all over my body, i never felt so excited in my life, not only i was happy for her baby bump but also for magnificent voice which got better after a long rest. THANKS TO THE TWINS!!! they keeps her healthy and happy. I think this was 100 and 10% live, looking at the way she sang and her gestures, unlike the time when she sang My All in Russia, that was lipped (Russian singers lip sync a lot and ppl don't mind)

tune, which enhances the quality of the voice. It's so clear! specially in the beginning of her speech. I'm a huge mariah fan and I'm not being mean or something when I say she's using. she ain't 20 yo anymore and her voice has changed. Everybody knows that she doesn't like to belt and therefore she uses a lot of breathy effects, which made her loose some voice quality. that's it.

@elciozoo I'm not meaning to sound patronising, but a lot of people don't seem to know what auto tune actually is. A lot of people confuse it with filters and reverb. I'm not saying you definitely have, however Mariah didn't use any enhancing tool for her belts on this album. If she had, her voice would have sounded a lot lighter and thinner. Also, if you listen carefully at 2:07, she belts live (only for a few seconds) and evidently isn't using auto tune.

If anyone wants to judge for themselves, visit the Mariah Daily website, where you can download the raw, undubbed audio recordings of the whole concert. As far as I can tell, nothing has been dubbed except one note in Oh Holy Night where her voice cracked. Have a listen and decide for yourselves.

@8jaMie7 keep scrolling down until you see 'News Archives' on the right, and click on January 2011, then scroll almost to the very bottom and you'll see 'MDJ Exclusive Full Audio - ABC Christmas Special Taping' then just click the part you wanna download, click 'free downloading' and wait for the timer to go down!

Think it this way, if this was lip sync or pre-recorded, just tell me how much is the effort that they have to put just to make sure the musicians' body gesture were synchronised with the playback music..

Wow. I did not remember it being this amazing. I got chills at the end (2:50-3:13). "And PEACE to m-EEEEnnn on Earth!" Lol. 2011 will yield some amazing songs from Mariah. I can tell she is going to give the fans one hell of a year with this restored voice.
