i didn't this at all i loved this radio Everymorning i used to listen to this radio, please if someone can tell him he is know worldwide (From Christine Paris France ) PLEASE TELL HIM !!!!!
I used to live in san jose in the 80's and this dude was the MAN.. i did not know he had a stroke ... love you from all the valley geeks and even the haters ...I still remember the ....you have COME oozing from your speakers...love to you and yours
Does anyone remember or have the short video clip of the blond KOME girl in the short cut-off jeans?. Used to see it at the drive-ins before the actual movie would begin. 98.5 KOME radio "stick it in your ear..."
I remember this staiton in the early to mid 80's. I remember one slogan, which was catchy, but did not stay for long, was "Don't touch that dial, it's got KOME on it!" Funny? Yes, but it seems not to all!
I grew up with Dennis Erectus, if you called the station he would talk to you unlike some on air personnalities. He had a great method of mixing vocal with music. If you ever heard him you know what I mean. I guess KOME doesn't exist any more like alot of the OLD California. Well Sour Grapes to all. But save the Wine.
how come theres very little info on KOME radio on the net,,,there should be air checks, photos, alot of promo events you guys put on,wheres the great photos from the 1970s,
i had a very obscure early 80's tape of the guy, but i was in elementary school. he was going on about AC/DC (a song before they had a hit record) and had a commercial (with radio dial changing) "Are you looking for a strong and fast pain releaver that works fast and wont upset your stomach. try burning your house down and shooting yourself. now avaliable without perscription" I wish I had that tape!!! early 80's...payless brand tape!!!
KOME stickers and Santa Cruz Skateboard stickers were probably the two most popular stickers during from 77 - 85 in the bay area. -- I remember a great show that Dennis (jesus) Erectus did Easter,1978 or 79. I had this great girlfriend (a really nice girl. Of course I move on to the slut after her. So STUPID OF ME ) and as we sat in her parents house just going crazy to the great music and incredible, over the top humor. -- Thank you Dennis. and thank you Robin Shat***. I loved 1978 - 70.
No, I jut came across this vid somewhere and it stirred up the memories. Contact "kystorms" and she'll hook you up with the latest in KOME!!! Her comments are posted on this vid.
Someone thought it would be funny to mark ALL comments negative so don't take it personal. So guess what? I have removed comment rating so no more annonymous ratings.
I miss KOME! There will never be another station like it. Having grown up listening to KOME and Dennis Erectus, it really tears me up to see Dennis in the condition he is in now. My prayers and thoughts go out to you Dennis. You are truly an SF South Bay legend!
KOME stickers...possibly the single most popular sticker in history. Was there a single kid in the Bay Area who did NOT have one on their bike seat, and then on their car?
graduated in 1977 at leigh high, worked next to Kome Radio , use to get free tickets to concerts all the time at the front desk , kome mad dogs vs journey rock dogs softball games, i was there, DOTG oakland concerts were the best, some photos of the concerts are on my myspace page,,,Type in ,,,,,David Keeler
Hey David, I remember you. I also graduated Leigh in 77 and went to many of the same concerts as you in fact I think we bumped into each other at a few of those DOTGs Those were the good old days weren't they?
Man oh man,Erectus was a Ledgend!! I hope he recovers! He is doing good from this video..KEEP IT UP ERECTUS!! Maybe He'll make a comeback on the new KOME (98.5 KFOX) someday!
ANYONE remember the fence over by OAKRIDGE MALL that had the words "D E N N I S E R E C T U S" graffiti'd on it in large letters? You could see from PEARL AVE when it used to connect to Blossom Hill Rd. It was on the back fence of the houses on Glenburry Way.
Dennis Erectus was one of my favorite memories of radio in the South Bay. Sad to see he is living in a hospital right now, but good to see he is recovering. Radio was never as good as when Dennis was on KOME 98.5 FM in San Jose.
KOME- those were the days. Great music, great DJ's (real, live DJ's with a personality). Radio sucks now. I remember a lot of these clips, great stuff.
AHEM some of those "Great DJ's" are still around,Laurie Roberts stuck around on KFOX,Ally (Well she's not there now but was) Went to LIVE105,Stern Of course Moved to Sirius,Marla Davies went to Mix106.5 and I think No Name is still at Live 105..If I'm not mistaken. (I know I e-mail Laurie most of the time)..I kept in touch with Ally for a while but the rest I don't know about.
Dear Dennis We miss you get well soon. I still have the picture of you Humping me on the baseball field at the KOME and Journey Baseball game....Love Stacey

Sadly, Dennis "Erectus" Netto had a heart attack in 2006 and has never fully recovered. He is apparently in an assisted living facility somewhere.

Really glad to have found this video, as I am now writing a blog that will be centered on Rock and of course, KOME.
I hope everyone checks out the KOME official site of Ted's and takes a few moments to email Dennis, I know he really enjoys the letters.
