  • Troughtens last episode was when the Timelords banished him to Earth and to protect the people of the planet as punishment for 'medeling' in other planets situation. Have you seen this episode?

  • @Kmag61 Yeah I have the story on DVD, but I fail to see what it has to do with the Time War when the Doctor's punishment for interfering in the affairs of other races was long before the Time War.

  • He left leela on Gallafrey, did she also die in the 'wars'? I know he is suppode to protect Earth, that was in Patrick Troughtens last episode..But surely there are other timelords that escaped , besides the Master.

  • @Kmag61 It's not known if Leela is dead or if she left Gallifrey before the war began for her own safety.

There could be other Time Lords offcourse. The use the Master using a Chameleon arch to hide himself from both the Daleks and the Time Lords suggests so.

I don't see what Patrick Troughton's final story actually has to do with the Time War, the Doctor usually protects the Earth all the time anyway in any incarnation.

  • It seems strange that ALL Timelords are gone, what of his niece? Romana & Rose Tyler have met the same end. Never any mention of his daughter, I keep forgetting that his sole purpoe is to protect Earth....to much drama for a "kids" show.

  • @Kmag61 Doctor Who's really a Sci-Fi for ALL the family. I have often wondered about his granddaughter Susan. I reckon she was returned to Gallifrey to take part in the Time War and ended up being killed sadly. As for his Daughter Jenny from series 4, I hope the Doctor will bump into her someday and discover she is alive after all cos as far as he is concerned, Jenny is dead.

  • Why bring back even more old characters???? Hasn't nu-hu done enough damage to this once great series? Do you know who would be perfect to play Romana? Lalla Ward.

  • @LegoDaleks You said the same about my " New Rani " video about Kate O' Mara. She and Lalla are getting on abit you know mate, and as they Master himself said in Utopia " If the Doctor can be young and strong, then so can I ", so obviously if either Romana or Rani where to come back, then surely they would rather come back young and strong rather then looking as they did in the classic series by the original actresses, just looking old and perhaps weak.

  • I could see that. I love Amber Benson, and every time a Buffy cast member gets inducted into the Whoniverse, my inner fangirl squeaks.

  • Yeah that might work.

  • @theeyeoftheduck thats exactly what i thought! :)

  • Romana also could have been instrumental in ressurecting Rassilon to stop the Doctor, making her a potent enemy. It's implied that "the time lords" collectively went bonkers trapped in the time lock battling the Daleks with only two dissenting. If Romana was one of the two dissenters, then she was deposed by Rassilon. If she wasn't one of the two dissenters then she's likely bat-shit crazy like the rest of them. Either way now courtesy of Timothy Dalton we know that a time lock isn't infallible.

  • @idgarad All i know for curtain, is that the Time Lords brought Rassilon back, and that he killed Romana and took her place as Lord President of the Time Lords.

  • @doctorwhoone

How do you know that? Are you thinking that the Time Lady he kills in council is Romana?

Serious question as Romana was a grat companion unlike Donna the Cow or the other losers the New DW has as companions.

  • @MagicKirin I read something about him killing her, or supposedly killed her, when i looked up the Time War on Google in Wikipedia a long time ago.

  • @doctorwhoone

Thanks for the info, I hope that Wikipedia which is often wrong is in this case.

  • @doctorwhoone I thought Romana decided to stay in espace.

  • @deltabilly1 She did in the Series, but most sorts of continuity say she returned to Gallifrey at some point and became Madame President of the Time Lords, and K9 went to Gallifrey with her.

  • @doctorwhoone

In two very bad books, Blood Harvest and Goth Opera Romana returns

They made her 20% less intlligence, and 50% less capable.

  • @deltabilly1 She did indeed, with a K9 unit that contained all the data needed to build her own Tardis.

  • @deltabilly1 She remained in Espace for a time but returned to N-Space via the 7th Doctor in NA:Blood Harvest. She then regenerated into her 3rd Incarnation aka Romana III and took over as Lord-President of Gallifrey. There she remained for a while. When the Time War began the Time lords Revived Rassilon who then ousted her. There is no mention of him killing her as there was no need. They needed every available time-sensitive they could muster to battle the daleks and then later Zagreus.

  • @theeyeoftheduck Never heard of her im afraid, sorry.

  • @doctorwhoone She plays Morgana in the BBC TV series 'Merlin'

  • @berlinmitte10117 Don't watch it so i wouldn't know.

  • could i ask what the audio is?

  • @PotatoeSmiley It's simply called " the Doctors Theme ".

  • How about Alex Kingston? I think she's Romana anyway.

  • @tenorrob No, i would hate River to turn out to be Romana cos i cannot stand River Song, her bleeden " Spoilers " and " Hello Sweetie " lines get on my nerves.

Nothing against Alex Kingston herself thou, she's cool, just her character i cannot stand.

  • @doctorwhoone

I don't think its River either although she shares the I am your equal attitude that Romana had with the Doctor.

I just don't think that Davies and now Moffat realize what a great companion Romana was.

  • @tenorrob u kinda failed it was Melody amy and rorys kid

  • She does have that Romana kind of "look"

I don't know if she can do that "Female Time-lord regal" voice, and the Romana Aloofness, and sarcasm though. Id have to have a look at this actress in action in a role then I might know better after that.

  • @chris211073 Well if you look up clips of Buffy Series 4 when she first played Tara then you can see how well she acts, and how i reakon she could play Romana.

  • @doctorwhoone Of course I remember her now!, Its been a while since I saw Buffy. Of course she could probably very well do it.

  • @chris211073 It's easy to forget people when you no longer watch a TV Series. I myself dont really watch Buffy repeats, not on DVD or on the Sci-Fi Channel [ or SyFy as they call it now, Buffy isint even a Sci-Fi !! . . . . morrons !! ], i dont really like anything these days involving Vampires, Twilight, Vampire Diaries, True Blood . . . . forget, they all suck [ if you purden the pun ], only Buffy was best when it came to Vampires . . .

    LONG LIVE BUFFY !! : D

  • Thats a good call, I dont know that actress but she does look reminscent of Lalla Ward and if you wanted to keep Romana with a visage of Lalla you could choose her I spose.

  • Holy crap that is a good call... Oddly though Romana was likely the older woman talking through the TV to the old man, one of the two shamed people Rassalon who didn't vote to obliterate time itself.

  • @idgarad Well some people reakon that woman was the Doctors Mum, which i dont think is true, since the Doctor said in the 1996 TV Movie that he was half Human on his mothers side, thou it's since been suggested he was lying. I like to think the woman was either Romana, or my best bet . . . . SUSAN : D

  • She looks like she would make a great Romana, but I'm not sure she can pull off the personality.

  • @errorsinconduct Well her version of Romana would be different compared to the two actresses who actually have played her on screen, so her personnality as Romana would be different, which is one thing about regeneration, you never quite know what your going to get, and that includes a change in personnality.

  • @doctorwhoone That's actually a very good point.

  • Nitpick: Searching for "Susan Forman" would mean that the person who made the image thought Amber would be perfect to play the Doctor's granddaughter, not Romana.

  • I do like Amber Benson, and she would be quite a good Romana, but I dunno, some part of me is stubbornly clinging to the belief that Romana should be english... who knows maybe Amber can do an accent...

  • Not a bad choice. Romana's fate is unknown. In the expanded 'Who' universe she was the Time Lord President at the start of the Time War. It would be good to see her back. Given the appearence of Timothy Dalton's Time Lord character, anything is possible.

  • Personally, I think Keeley Hawes would be a good Romana. Do you know of her? I think she would be a good Time Lady.

  • Yes i know of her , Alex Drake from the BBC TV Series Ashes to Ashes . Not sure had have her for Romana thou .

  • @doctorwhoone Well, if not Romana, then maybe the Rani? She just strikes me as a very Time Lady-ish person. =D (You watch Ashes to Ashes? You just suddenly became awesome...)

  • I think somebody else suggested her for the Rani , if you check out the comments on my two " Doctor Who - A New Rani " Videos , im sure somebody said she could probably play the part .

" You watch Ashes to Ashes? You just suddenly became awesome " , yes i do , cheers : ) , prefer Life On Mars really if im openly honest with you .

  • oh perfect choice!!! amber would be amazing!

  • Thank you : )

  • GENIUS!!!

  • Ha Ha , thank you = )

  • @doctorwhoone credit where its due! i find people on here are all too quick to say they hate something! i always try to comment on stuff i like,

  • Yes people can be so god damn negative . I just went on the Sun Newspaper website for example , looking at this story about a UFO sighting in a place here in the UK ive never heard of before called Rotherham , and a lot of the commenters say nothing but the usual " fake " or " what a load of old bollocks " . People are indeed quick to say they hate something as you say .

    As the 7th Doctor would put it . . . " Human's !!!! " .

  • I have a better one for you, Christina Cole. One of the best looking british actresses of today.

  • Fraid ive never heard of her . Ive heard of Cheryl Cole , but not one called Christina .

  • Personally, I'm interested in the Doctor's Grand Daugher. William Harnell's Doctor stated that they were BOTH exiles from their own people. Does this mean that she's a Time Lord too?

  • Yes , Susan is , or rather was , also a Time Lord [ or specificly , a Time Lady ] .

  • @doctorwhoone It was never specified in the series if she was a Time Lord or simply a Gallifreyan. Only Time Lords were given the ability to regenerate. Susan may not have had this.

  • @sagaofbluewing If you've ever seen the Five Doctors , then your forgetting that Susan recognised the Planet , plus in old 1960's Episodes she discribed Gallifrey very much the same as David Tennant's 10th Doctor did , and it was said in An Unearthly Child that both she and the Doctor are from the same Planet , so she is a Time Lady / Gallifreyan from Gallifrey .

  • @doctorwhoone It's been suggested that not all Gallifreyans are Time Lords and that only Time Lords can regenerate. Susan is from the planet but may not be a Time Lord and therfore may not have been granted a cycle of regenerations. That's what I meant. I have both versions of the Five Doctors and early episodes with Susan (what few are available).

  • It was never specified in the series that only Time Lords had the ability to regenerate.

  • I dont think Steven Moffat or any writer will bother with the Time War stuff Russell T. Davies had created to help bring back the Series and introduce it to a new audiance .

Personnally , i hope the Time War is never mentioned in the Show again , cos all we ever got was tiny bits of information about it and little mentions , there was never flashbacks to show the War , or for that matter , taking time to discuss it . A Film about the War would be cool thou , with Paul McGann's 8th Doctor .

  • @doctorwhoone Personally I didn't care much for Paul McGann's Doctor. But then again, he only had one story, so didn't get any time to build the character. So Who knows (No Pun Intended) he may well have been an excellent Doctor!

  • @VinnyMonster1 In my opinion, McGann was one of the saving graces of the '96 movie, as his Doctor came off as being unique in comparison to the previous seven, yet at the same time he was still the same old Doctor. The audio plays McGann has done for Big Finish have really fleshed out his Doctor and converted a lot of skeptics of his potential. He's actually now one of my more favorite Doctors, to the point that I think they should do something with him in the series.

  • works for me

  • True , and lets be honest , the Doctor did end up Scottish when Sylveser McCoy took over from Colin Baker as the 7th Doctor in 1987 to 1989 , and the 1996 TV Movie offcourse .

  • But She's American, Can She Do An English Accent?

  • Your not the only one to ask me that . Check out some of the early Comments on this Video .

  • Thank you .

  • Romana's fate is fascinating as she would have had to figure pivotally in the Time War as Lady President of Gallifrey. Dramatic possibilities: 1) She is scapegoated for the war, gets deposed and replaced by Rassilion. 2) She could have a falling out with the Doctor over destroying their home planet as a solution to the war (wouldn't you?), perhaps even battling it out. 3) She could apparently die heroically while teamed with the Master, with him deserting her to fight off a hundred Daleks, etc.

  • @CaptDingDong

One question if Romana was President or on Gallifrey would the Doctor lock her away with the rest of the Time Lords.

Could he do that to someone that close to him. We don't know after the Key to Time how long he and hse traveled together.

  • I read on Wikipedia earlier this Year suggesting that Rassilon may have killed Romana during the Time War and therefore took over in her place as President of the Time Lords , so if the Doctor knew she was dead when doing that Time Lock thing , i dont think it would have bothered him .

  • @doctorwhoone

Noone really Knows... Even Russell the former writer couldn't full in the blanks...

There are post on some websites that say the Rassilion shown during series four was the real Rassilion of old from back when the Timelords were created.. There are other post on different websites that says that Romana was killed early on in the Time War and Rassilion was brought back to life to lead the Timelords into battle.

  • Well as far as im concerned , the Series will never mention the Time War ever again , so i doubt we will ever know Romana's true fate .

  • @doctorwhoone The thing is nomatter what people feel about the Time war, the Timelords will return again and they will mention the Time War in future epsiodes.

I won't be surprize if Romana does show up in the new series later on down the road. The Time War was created as a plot twist to explain why the Time lords aren't around anymore and to make the Doctor reason for leaving his people behind a moral issue.

  • You're right, she would be such an awesome Romana. :)

  • Thank you .

  • Yes, great choice :D

  • Or doing the time war she escape to Shada(the time lords prison planet). Remeber in the Big Finish audios Romana is now the lord president not Rasslion. I like think that she's still in e-space helping people/planets or going by big finish as president helped all she can with Leela and two k-9's helping her that she might have escape in a escape pod to Shada. Their might still be a bunch of Time Lords still on Shada. Or maybe she escape to Cambridge as asst to Prof Crontist.

  • We may never know Romana's actual fate .

  • yea but if The Doctor was ever to be reunited with Romana then he would have to go back into the Exo-Space Time Continuim which would greatly Damage the TARDIS and would most likly be impossible unless they fin a CVE agan which is the rarest Spacetial Distribence in the Universe.

PS i would love to see Romana again and K-9 cause both Charicters are awsome and will be for ever.

Yea im a major geek lol deal with it

  • @fatteenager12

That's assuming that Romana was in the area, after it was time locked. Perhaps she got out of Gallifrey before the time lock took effect and like the Master assumed some other identity.

  • It is possible . After all , as you said , the Master assumed some other identity , who says Romana hasint gone and done the exact same thing ? ! .

  • Amber would be excellent, but under the present circumstances, It'd be the coup de grace of the new series if Alex Kingston turns out to be Romana (or if she turns out to be Amy Pond in the future). Either's alot more likeable than Matt Smith.

  • Yes, I can totally see her doing it! And I somehow suspect she could master the accent - or, she could just reincarnate with an amercican accent (some kind of explanation could be manufactured, I'm sure!).

  • she favors lalla ward

  • Interesting idea but can she do a convincing British accent?

  • No idea . But ide love to see her try .

  • @upchuck69

It matters not. Lots of planets have a North Ameri...actually, you may have a point there :D

  • That's be pretty cool! (BTW, did you know that Ms. Benson has written a couple of GREAT novels? ("Death's Daughter" and "Cat's Claw".)

  • I didint know that actually no , i think i discovered a while back that she is a Writer , but if she has any of her Novels sold here in the UK , im not aware of them .

    Thanks for watching .

  • She certainly looks the part! But when you step beyond the fourth wall, I seriously doubt BBC-Wales would cast an American actress in the role, no matter how well she handled the audition process.

  • Well if she could hide her true Accent with an English one , then im sure she'de easyly play a new version of Romana . I worked for Nickola Bryant , she fooled lots of Fan's into thinking she was really American like her Character Peri , when really she is British .

  • @doctorwhoone: I have no doubt that Benson could play the part; she's darn good! It's just that for economic, cultural, and perhaps political reasons, BBC would never use an American actress for such an important character. Bryant sure fooled some people... but not all. I understand that she had different ideas for playing the character, but BBC insisted she play Peri to a specific, ratings-grabbing stereotype (i.e. the stupid, loud, rude, oversexed American). Is there any truth to that?

  • I honestly dont know im afraid , i dont really now anything about Nickola's casting for the part of Peri , all i can say is she played a Companion i myself dont really like , especially with her slightly Breast revealing outfits which i myself find inappropriate for a Family Series , but that was probably due to John Nathan Turner with the whole " show us ya Tits love ! " stuff with Peri at the time .

  • @doctorwhoone I didn't like Peri either; she was stupid, rude and under dressed. She had her moments, like telling the Master to buzz off, but that didn't redeem her. But, she does fit the stereotype that many Europeans hold of Americans. I think BBC wanted to put a bimbo character in as a ratings magnet, and went with a cheep stereotype to do it. I once read that Bryant wanted to play Peri as sassy and "street smart," (itself a different stereotype) but JNT insisted otherwise.

  • @rjpugh

Yes British media entertainment rarely put american in positive light. look at the U.S President in season 3 conclusion of New Who.

also remember JNT was against strong female companions. Tegan, Peri and Mel all weak.

Ace was a little better. But you were not going to have a 3 or 4th strength companion with JNT.

  • It would be a miracle if Benson agreed to play Romana in a few years time. I'd be happy

  • you know...THAT'S BRILIANT!

  • If they cast Amber Benson as Romana, that would make my year.

  • Indeed , but seeing as the Time Lords seem to be trapped in the Time War along with the Master know , it seems casting Amber as a new Romana wont ever happen . . . .

    . . . . Sods Law eh , Ha Ha . . .

  • @doctorwhoone Unless she managed to somehow slip out while Rasselon (what a whack job!!!) had the door open!

  • Hmmmmmm , now thats not a bad point you have there . .. .. . but i doubt it , cos we would have surely seen her appear when Rassion , the two Time Lords and the two with their Hands over their Faces showed up , and if there was another Time Lord in the Universe [ if he / she had not used a Chemeleon Arch ] then the Doctor would sense them , as Time Lords are after all Telepathic beings .

  • @doctorwhoone : Yes, it's very unlikely, unless (a) she went into a fob watch, or (b) when back into E-Space, where she spent several years. Neither scenario is likely, but it's fun to think about.

  • nice

  • Thank you for watching .

  • do you have any spoilers for this season

  • This Video , or any other i have done , is never about Spoilers .

  • Nice choice! I believe Susan was not a timelord like the Doctor though.... If she was I don't think there is any ways that he would have left her on Earth with a human boyfriend knowing she would vastly outlive him!

  • Yeah alot of Fan's seem to think the same about Susan not being a Time Lord , but as far as im concerned she actually is . A Novel called Legacy of the Daleks features Susan many Years after the Events of the Dalek Invasion of Earth where David Campbell is now married to her and is getting older , but Susan doesint change abit , so she definatly is a Time Lord .

  • @whitener75 Nope she was a Timelord lol

  • @whitener75

Susan was a Galifreyan, she Rodan, Runstable, Egin and Andread were not time lords.

Technicly neither in Romana she never got her doctorate.

  • @whitener75 we don't know that she could.... she could find herslef in a circumstance where she can't regenerate and die before the doctor

  • I think if you reverse Amber and Terry you are on to something. Amber has much more of a sinister look to be the Rani!

  • Not sure i could see Amber as the Rani , ive allways viewed her to be much like her Buffy Character Tara , very Shy yet quite Happy at the same time .

  • While no one could replace Mary Tamm in my eyes, you have a good second there mate;o)

  • Thanks .

  • Remember, Doctor 1 was okay leaving Susan on Earth with a human, so it seems likely that she herself is predominantly human. Maybe this is what the Doctor was on trial for in the War Games...

  • No , the Doctor was only on Trial in the War Games due to his interfering with things going on on other Planets , Susan was never mentioned in the War Games and the Time Lords never charged the Doctor with leaving one of there own Kind on an Alien World , our Planet .

  • "Fraternising" with other species probably comes under that banner (after all, back then they didn't even let non-Time Lords visit Gallifrey), which may be partly a euphamism, and if you actually read my comment you'll see I never said that leaving Susan on Earth was the charge.

  • I did read your Comment clearly , i just mentioned Susan as an example .

  • An alternate choice

    Olivia D'abo:

She played Goren''s nemisis Nicole Wallace on Law and Order CI

She also was a Bond Girl in Timothy Dalton's very bad The Living Daylights

  • Never heard of her . Thanks for mentioning anyway .

  • i love amber benson in buffy =) i wished she didnt die in buffy, do u like buffy? anywayz that would be a great choice i would love to see her a romana but i would still perfer Lalla Ward as Romana but great choice =)

    dAvEo check out ma reviews

  • I do love the Show Buffy the Vampire Slayer . I dont watch it now thou sadly , and to be honest , im sick of anything associated with Vampires these Days , like Twilight and such , they seem out of date Villain's to me since Buffy ended , and plus , the only kind of Vampires i like is Buffy ones , mainly cos of there Demon Faces .

  • I'll admit I'd LOVE to see Romana return in some form (whether she returns from E-Space in the present or pre-Time War). Especially with the other Time Lords coming back (I'd assume that means Romana, Rani, and the Meddling Monk).

Also I'd like to point out that there's been no indication Susan CAN regenerate. There's enough info in canon pointing to a Time Lord Academy where Gallifreyans go and train to become Time Lords. This is more prominent in AU though.

  • Great Choice!

  • Thank you very much .

  • I have a great prediction: Miranda Richardson!

  • The name kinda rings a bell , not one im familiar with thou .

    Thanks for watching .

    Jason .

  • The producers announced over a year ago that they would like to have Benson play Romana III (or posibly Romana IV, depending on how canon the IDW comics are). The image that inspired you to do this was probably her show of support for the idea.

  • I think it would be great to bring the character back.

I have not been totally satisfied with the way they brought the Master back, I didn't think it followed the rules of the DW universe

  • Actually the way they brought the Master back i think was done pritty well if we where to discuss with Continuity cos the Master was killed in the 1996 TV Movie and having him mention that the Time Lords resurrected him for the Time War sure was a good thing to make sure there was no so called cock ups .

  • Is the 96 movie which was done by people who obviouskly knew nothing about the history of DW considered canon

  • Yes the Movie is apart of Doctor Who Continuity as it featured Sylvester Mc.Coy regenerating into Paul Mc.Gann . If Sylvester wasint in the Film then i , and probably alot of Fans , wouldint concider it Cannon cos it would look as thou the American's where trying to relauch Doctor Who in there own way by making Paul mcGann a younger 1st Doctor , but as Sylvester was in the Film , as he was the last Actor to play the role on screen , then it is Canon .

  • Not only that, there was a scene that once showed images of all the doctors regenerations, and Paul McGann was the Eighth, so the DW movie is indeed canon

I agree, it seemed like ppl who didn't know Doctor Who were involved...half human?? Come on... And I thought the Eye of Harmony was back on Gallifrey, not inside the TARDIS

  • Actually i think the Idea of the Doctor saying his half-Human was a good idea because it seems to explain why he keeps coming back to Earth more then any other Planet in the Universe . The Eye of Harmony was indeed on Gallifrey , in the Deadly Assassin , but it is believed that the Tardis does , or did , have a Link to the Eye itself , but since the Time War , the Tardis uses the Rift in Cardiff for fuel as seen in the New Series .

  • @MagicKirin

    Yes. It's considered canon.

  • @MagicKirin If you're talking about Paul McGann, apparently it is, judging from the reincarnation scenes.

  • @MagicKirin McGann is seen several times in the new series so i beleive it is canon. Not every word of it though. No writer today is going to claim the doctor is half human.

  • @greatsayain BUT, what if the mysterious "Woman" shown in the End of Time was the Doctor's mother, and at one point in her life used a chameleon arch device to make herself human on earth, during which time she and a Time Lord dad gave birth to the Doctor? This would make the Doctor simultaneously half human (physically) but progenitally all Time Lord (as product of two Gallifreyans), and explain his fondness for Earth. This is just one way a writer could easily reconcile the half-human issue.

  • @rsmllc2 Wow , thats a very good thought you have there Rsmllc 2 , it makes sense to me , after all , Aliens [ like us Humans ] where not even allowed on Gallifrey , such as Sarah when the 4th Doctor had to leave her behind on Earth at the end of the Hand of Fear just before the next story [ the Deadly Assassin ] .

  • excellent selection , I can see Romana in her eyes.

  • Thank you very much Seploud .

  • And even if she doesn't do an English Accent it could be passed off as a quirk of regeneration probably. I could see this.

  • OMG! ITS TARA!

  • Yes it is ! , She died in Buffy , only to regenerate into Romana for Doctor Who - Series Five !!!! . . . . . well , thats how i like to see it ....

  • That would be GREAT! i loved her as tara. im sure id love her as anyone else. she a great actress. and shes pretty hot!

  • Thank you Nickmandi , glad your approve of my Choice for a new Romana . She was brilliant as Tara , kinda annoys me she got killed off back in Series Six by that Warren guy , but atleasrt he had his Death coming to him , even if it did involve him being Skinned to Death . ... Yuck ! . . .

  • i took forever to get over taras death. she wus 1 of my favrit characters. i love wut hapened to waren. i just think willow shood hav made his deth more painful and last longer

  • Yeah , a more Painful and last Longer Death is something every Bastard who kills an Innocent Girl or Woman deserves in Revenge of those they've killed .

  • alyhough i hated to see tara die i love dark willow and she would not have been without taras deth

  • I think physically she would be a great choice for Romana. Only question is... could she pull off a British accent? Not that she would HAVE to, I guess, since the Doctor's accent changes slightly during different incarnations, but I'd find it a bit strange if she was suddenly American.

  • Funny , someone else asked me this exact same Question on this exact Video .

I souppose she could pull of a British Accent , but only if she can do it perfectly to hide her true American Accent , otherwise there could be problems .

  • OMW AMBER BENSON ahhhh she's off buffy the vampire slayer. she one of ma favourites!!!

  • Its a great premise - whats your thoughts on Karen Gillan?, i think she's wonderful:)

  • I think she looks great ,, thou we dont yet know much about her character Amy , except that she is Human and from Scotland . . . . arghhhhhhh , why cant the Companion be an Alien for a change ???? !!!! .

  • Nice idea Jason. She may have escaped the Time War, just like The Master did, just like The Doctor did, just like The Daleks did, just like Davros did and all the rest [thats alot of escapees]

Theres always the great potential for her to return....

  • Thank you Owen .

  • I do agree she has the look for Romana, I always felt an older Romana; Jill

In regard to the audio tapes, The Time War and the novelizations do we have to accept them as Canon?

Beside unless they introduce a new adversary which in addition to Davies other blunders was never done.

You need someone who can challenge the Doctor. Who better than his protoge and a Triple First?

  • I do regard alot of the Audios , Novels and Comic Strips as Cannon , including the often mentioned Time War and the Gallifrey Audio Adventures by Big Finish which feature Romana , thou i do admit , i dont have the Gallifrey Audios , but i concider them Canon none the less .

  • I don't because they break the rulkes of the DW universe which should be based on classic Who.

I don't buy this total personallity switch by Romana. In some of the books her common sense and intelligence goes down by a third. Because in the last season especially E-Space trilogy she is the Doctor's equal.

  • yeah i think she will make a good romana

  • Thank you very much , im glad you agree.

  • She did a good job in Buffy but isn't she american, Doctor Who doesn't work that well with americans look at Doctor Who The Movie, still you never know

  • Yeah Amber is American , but if she can pull off a very convincing English Accent , then she can definately make a fantastic new incarnation of Romana .

  • wWELL DOPNE ON YOUR VID Y AND YES IPERFECTLY WELL AGREE WITH YOU!!

  • Can i just point out one thing about ROMANA

she is in n- space and she choose to stay there with k9 mark 2 and the doctor close off all over realty's so she cant come back

  • Actually she can , cos in Doctor Who Continuety with the Audio and Novel Adventures , Romana actually returned to our Universe with K9 and ended up back on Gallifrey some how . She ended up as President of the Time Lords . If you go to Google and type in Romana , look her up on Wikipidia . It will explain everything .

  • well i just done as you said and it say

    and i quote

The series ends on a cliffhanger, with Gallifrey on the brink of economic and social collapse as well as in danger of being overrun by a Free Time virus, while most of the characters are trapped with no apparent means of escape. and if i rember rightly she then goes back to n-space and thats oter realty that the 10th doctor close when he took rose back the 2 nd time thats why she can not come back

  • Well if the Master can hide himself by becoming Human using a Chemeleon Arch , then so can Romana and any other Time Lord , you should be more open about these sort of things , for all we know Romana is here on Earth as one of us average every day Human's and just doesint know it , Yana allways believed he was Human yet in reality he was a Time Lord called the Master ! .

  • oh yes but how do we know she had one and 2 nd that means thre are 2 k9s and k9 would know if his other self was on earth and she not going to leave k9 in n-space as the 4 th doctor gave him to her to look out for her and the fob watch that the 4 doctor had was broken so she could not of taken it off of him as Perry broke it on the planet necros

  • Look , im not going to argue with you cos ive had a really nice Day , but you just have to accept the fact that it is possible to bring back Romana . The Master is proof that it is possible .

As for her K9 , i rekon he must have been destroyed during the Time War , leaving Romana to end up Human and somehow end up on Earth , perhaps not by using a Tardis as the Time Lords had other such ways like the Time Ring from Genesis of the Daleks or by some other means .

  • i am not argueing with you well i see it as she is in e- space and as for the time ring in Genesis of the Daleks it was Given to the Fourth Doctor in the serial Genesis of the Daleks by the Time Lords so that he could escape Skaro on successful completion of his mission to avert the creation of the Daleks. The Doctor, Harry Sullivan, and Sarah Jane Smith use the Time Ring at the end of the adventure and it could only be used that once because the time loards reclaimd it

  • Oh i see , sorry .
