@bubibuLLo give the linguistic examples for toponyms Dainava,Klaipeda,Vilno,Kovno etc. by which you assert that these toponyms are "pure slavic".just saying "pure slavic" doesn't make them slavic....BTW Sudovia is from germanic word SUD which means South, Southern part of Balts(European Sarmatia),and indeed Sudovia was in southern part of ancient European Sarmathia in that time . Now Sarmatians(European) are known by new name Balts. And Baltas means "white" what reflects our looks :)

Word " Balt " you took from slavic " biely " for white and it has nothing common with Baltic region.
By word " Balt, Balato, Blata ... " named Venetian Slavs mudy, swampy .... region like lake " Balaton " in Slovakian Pannonia ( now known as "Hungary " ). Originaly it was " Balato ", Magyar Ugrofin occupants added since 10th cent. suffix -n.
" Balt " was described in antique or Greek sources as " dark Ocean ".

Yes and "sud" is in slavic "barrel".
The cities and rivers like Kovno, Livno, Nemunas, Kupiškis ... are pure Slavic.
Balts are just mix of Ugrofins, Slavs and Germans, what is proven by langauge, DNA, look, dances, pagan religion ...
Kaunas is slavic city named and built by Slavs and the name is derivated from slavic word for " kov " - metal.
Vilno - is slavic city named and built by Slavs and the name is derivated from slavic word for " vlna, vilnit ... "- wave, surge

No del tevyne. Kaunas is derivated from Kovno = Kov ( metal in slavic languages ) + pure 100% slavic suffix -vo, -ovo, -no, -ovno ... !
Fighting is in Lithuanian language " kovo - kovas " and if it was your city, you would use this form with " kovo or kovas " !
But you use changed slavic name " kovno " into " kaunas ". Not spekaing about such a detail that almos all cities in Slav-German-Ugrofinic region known since any 12th ce. as " Balt " were built by Slavs and Germans !

Vilno is also slavic city built by Slavs and is derivated from slavic words " vlna " - wave , " vlnit - vilnit " - to surge .... !!!!

Slavs have absolutely nothing common with any " Balts " which name is taken from slavic word for mud - balato and which were named so first time in 20th cent. beeing named Lithuanians, Latvians, Prussians and Latgals !
But Latvians and Latgals are mostly just "baltized " Ugrofinic Livs !
All Balts are just mix of Ugrofins - N, Slavs - R1a and Germans I and R1B !
Slavs use no "baltic " word, but all Balts use thousands of slav words, culture, clothes, dances, toponyms...

@bubibuLLo Balts and slavs division is German invention, balts are the same as slavs, the only difference is that slavs adopted christianity in the 9th century while what was left were balts, that adopted christianity in 14-15th centuries. Hence baltic dialects are more conservative that slavic, as any serious linguist will tell you. As far as DNA goes, slavs and balts are mixed with their neighbouring ethnic groups, Russians mostly have Urgo-Finnic 60% and Turkic 30% DNA only 10% Balto-Slavic.

Qongrat, Balts have name from slavic word " balato " - " mud ". The same named Slovaks " Balato " in Slovakian Pannonia ( today´s " Hungary " ). Ugrofinic Magyar occupants since 10th cent. just added " n " at the end.
Yes, name " Balts " began to use baltic Germans in 19th cent. in order to separate from Baltic Lithuanians, Latvians, Estons ..... which they considered for inferior. Since 20th cent. the name " Balt " began to use for today´s " Balts ".

And it´s funny because Lithuanians counquered Baltic sea coast in any 13 - 14th cent. during their raids ( the same like parts of Belarus, Poland, Ukrajina, Russia, Latvia, Estonia, Prussia ) !!!
Balts are originaly mix of Ugrofins, Baltic Germans, Slavs mixed with any autochthon rest of Europeans.
In Balt were always mentioned just Venetian Slavs, Germans and Ugrofins !!!
Lithuanians since 11th cent., Latvians the same by named by Ugrofinic Livs. Prussians since 9th cent.!

Tacitus, Jordanis mentioned just Ugrofins : Estons - Aesti, Fins - Fenni ) lived in baltic region over Slavs in today´s Baltic lands !
Bavarian cartograph mentioned almost all Slavic tribes in middle-east Europe with their cities-castles, but at Prussians (living close to Volynians) mentioned just " there is more of them like between Enge and Rhyne river " what is territory of today´s Baltic states.

" east of Meshek ( Polish king ) live Rús ( Russians and White Russians ), on north Prussians ( Burus ). Settlements of Prussians are over ocean ( Baltic ). They speak fifferent language not knowing habits of their neighbours ..... . Russians attack them by ships from west. "
There are till now in north west Prussia ( now south west Litva ) willages " Vorusné " and " Rusné " confirming it.

@bubibuLLo about slavs, they were actually called SLAVUS in Roman Empire, literally meaning slaves, for Romans used to raid Sarmatians for slaves. The term "balt" was invented in the 19th century, the present Balto-Slav territory was simply called Sarmatia before. Blats are paranoid about Russians, so in 20th century they dropped any words from their language that was similar to Russian, real Baltic languages, Samagotnian and Old Prussian are a lot more Slavic than modern Baltic languages are.
