This is real nonsense. The main fring site doesn't show skype logo yet in their ads they like using skype calls, Could someone at fring please clarify because it seems your demo versions has skype but the end users cannot login or use skype as it has been removed.

what version of fring do you use on your 5800 ? I just donwloaded last version from fring for my nokia 5800 and i can't find Skype in that list. I have yahoo , tweet , etc... I loved videocalling via fring on my n96 (which I had the opportunity to do in 1 trip I did), but then SKYPE banned them... it's hard to convince all my friends to switch to google talk just because of that! uhauhu
Maybe it works when there are two phone devices with fring installed , but since now i didnt find any way to make it work with a pc.Skype doesnt provide video calls messenger doesnt provide video calls just the same and fring cannot be istalled on pc.
Video calling seems to only work one-way for me now; Between two Nokia 5800s, only the person who places the call ("A" is calling "B") can actually use the camera on the phone… ie. "A" can't see "B"; it only shows a "no front camera" icon. Sorry if that's a little confusing right now, I can clarify more if you need it...

I've installed Fring on my Nokia 6120 Classic and Skype calls and chatt works just fine, but for some reason it doesn't support video calls. Any idea of why?
yes if you add extra catalogs you can search for fring but, its only beta for N900 and it only work voice call no video call yet. witch its really useless for N900 for now because you can have all the messenger from extra catalogs ^-^
i use the video call on my n95 but the video quality the other person seeing is not that good. i think its n95 front camera quality is not that good. becuase i can see the other person video crispy clear. or maybe its my 3g (at&t) is not that good.

Yes u see each other. Mostly use a phone like the N97 which has a camera on top of the screen which is used for the video link hence u will be looking at your screen viewing the your caller's image while your caller will be viewing your image.
Stay away from this phone fring, is available on a lot other phones. Trust me on this one I have the flipping phone, Nokia 's had to replace it 5 times.

It sounds like your router crashes, it could be a bug in the firmware. Or it could be problem with NAT. Some cheap routers really can't handle much traffic when NAT is used.

The video/call quality depends on many things.
Try to make a call over WiFi and see how it goes.
Keep in mind that this is a first release for this feature, it will get better over time and we'll be adding more devices so you'll be able to make video calls with more friends.
