  • great song

  • still causing a stir then. lol. m x

  • All these hippies are either dead or really creepy old people that dont shower. Usually these people can never except reality that they are not kids anymore. Bob Dylan also sucks.

  • Yeap, disgusting...They thought that doing drugs would make them free....NOT...In fact, most of them are probably old disgusting and still on crack...

  • Damn a buncha drugged out slutty ass hoes, not much has changed... If any female in my family ever chose that path in life, i would relieve her of her earthly existence. Wake the fuck up people love is making you weak and pathetic, the true balance is neutrality and indifference.

  • Hippies never die, thet just go up in smoke!

  • Hippie girl is a real gem for the man!

  • @Pwillow100 oui c'est bien ELECTROBUDDHA,mark Hamilton est un super compositeur interprète,écoutez toutes ses compositions,c'est super,je suis vraiment FAN!!!!

The greatest years of my life.. and the greatest time for rock music and clothes and everything Pyschedelia and Sixties... I will always be a Hippie Girl.

  • You TOTALLY don't need drugs to be a hippie! But they sure help

  • hey who sings that song ?

  • I was hippying around in the late 60's, mostly in Albuquerque and Hawaii. I know this..I never wore any of those clothes...I didn't have hardly any..LOL....I did have a tyedye bikini I wore everywhere, and an old t-shirt with lots of cool beading on the back of it. I also carried a flute and played it. I was homeless, and survived on chocolate milk, rice and eggs, and oatmeal. I thumbed it everywhere, and sat on the beaches on Maui and meditated for hours (with a little help from Mr. LSD..

  • @grannynara,

there was supposedly a haight ashbury hippy section in albuquerque where was it located do you know?

  • @atfatw I don't remember any specific area at the time...for awhile I lived across the street from the University and there were alot of hippies in that area, also we all hung out alot in Roosevelt Park, and Old Town. I later found out that my apartment was one of the main "crash" pads in town..LOL..the other one was called the "Stone House..." if my memory serves me right, which it doesn't usually.

  • @grannynara

did you camp out in the park or just crash whenever you found a crash pad what subjects did you study at univ of new mexico?

I'd like to thank each and everyone of you for taking my love and understanding

and using it agenst me to destroy the world, Thanx : } really cool man !

  • What song is this?

  • I was 16 in 1967. It was a great time . A light was turned on in many people's minds .It seemed like an initiation .A prep for the future we're in and for what's coming up.Just a subjective observation. It influenced the rest of my life for the good.

  • Hippie chicks are the best.

  • I heard this song, first time i was high!!

This is a fucking nice soong!!

  • I LLLOOOVVVEEE Hippie Girls!!!

  • Ours is an imperfect world. Many hippies were just apocalyptic partiers away from mom and dad and cutting loose and running wild. The true hippies want: Peace, love, sanity and joy ... FOR EVERYONE! Also, they were mostly into hallucinogens to expand consciousness and NOT to blow out. See The Deepwater Gulf Oil-spill? That happened because of a corporation seeking profit ... over people ... over nature ... over everything. That happened because greedy executives got impatient. Want that?

  • @FanOfJanis from my experience back then, very few people were actually real hippies. Most of it was surburbian kids emulating their rock and role idols; the hippy look, using a few hippy catch phrases and doing some acid and pot. The very few "real hippies" i did know were real nice mellow people

  • @inkey2 - Totally agree with you. That was my experience also. True hippies (I'd say those who detested the greed, domination and violence which characterized the mainstream society) were actually quite rare. They generally were very mellow, nice people truly seeking a better world. Agree with you 100%. Peace ... FoJ

  • the hippies were right

  • If everyone embraced the Hippie Ideology, my what a wonderful world it would be!!

    Peace ~ Namaste';-)

  • song?

  • Just a side note to those of you who are down on hippie's , Why are you wacthing hippie videos if your so down on them ? Plus True hippie's are lover's and do not believe in hurting anyone or anything ! Who ever you met wasnt really a hippie if this is how they acted ! Thanks for Listening Peace !!!

  • Does anyone know who did the song for this , I'm looking for the lyric's ..., Thanks for your help !

  • hippie values were the best idea, not everyone was on drugs,i cant stand drugs, but the hippy idea was the best,it still lives on in amsterdam

  • I was born in 1964 in San Francisco and Black and I must say at the age of 4 or 5 which I remember the Hippies in the early years of my life, they were positive and a nice bunch of folks. Always had good things to say to the little kids.

  • this is a really melodic and well writtern song, could you post the lyrics please?

  • WE NEED PEACE.

  • hippies r awesome i love hippies

  • no one get made at me, but i met 2 hippys of my friends, and were both selfish assholes, all they did was talk rude to me, and when i had a water in my hand, one of them just took it out and started to drink it!, WHAT IS UP WITH THAT!, this was at virginia beach, when we went swimming i took my shoes off of course, and one of them got out of the water before me(it wasn't a race) AND HE TOOK MY SHOES AND WENT HOME!, luckely i had my wallet!..IF ALL HYPPYS ARE LIKE THIS...WHAT ASSHOLES!!!, sorry.

  • @curtismichael14

you sure they werent gypsies because they deffinetaly arent hippies (could be wannabee hippies)

  • @curtismichael14 Don't be sorry.....all hippies and liberals are selfish assholes.

  • let me tell you kids, grandma was a freak

  • im a hippie. I love it. i wish everyone was. Id be a happy flower bud, man.

  • Dont hate on hippies. If everyone was a hippie the world would be a much better place.. I was riding my bike to the beach, oops forgot my helmet, cop pulls me over - i get done for 'bicycle offence' - i mean really, did i hurt anyone... the law does not have a heart.. $56 fine just for going to the beach. Has the world lost its mind.

  • LOVE the video and the tune compliments it perfectly--(in fact, this is a great song to listen to when you're on the beach soaking up the sunshine and looking at all the beautiful women---why can't we be free like this all the time???!!!)

  • Dynamite! Dynamite! Dynamite!

  • you will respect my authoritah!!!

  • hippies do a lot of drugs u fucking idiot

  • Comment removed

  • are you Eric Cartman ?

  • Everyone looks so real, love it.

  • Does hippies looks like that?

I did think that they were naked??

  • i know some of the original hippie girls. pretty gross at 60. sorry.

  • and can you pick out 20 'straight' baby boomers at age 60, out of 100, that ARE not gross also? Seems like a skewed observation.

  • im from this time line and i made it fine to this day. its the tards that failed. nice video.

  • :D nice

  • Great video, Thanks!

  • this song has the flavor of "Pleasant Valley Sunday"

  • hey....who does this song and what year is it from?

  • I grew up smack in the middle of the entire hippy thing.....I have always hated this era.....it was far from only just love and peace. It was alot of wasted, destroyed lives devastated by drugs. My neighbors daughter, a beautiful young girl was found sitting on a park bench in a slum dead with a needle in her arm. She came from a well off family of good people and yet she fell for all that hippy "I gotta be me and do my own thing crap" , It bothers me just to watch these memories of this era

  • @ inkey2

strange you mentioned "grew up smack in the middle" and have story dead junkies found dead on a park bench in your vid comment. jus' an observation, not a position.

  • Comment removed

  • I'm sorry for your loss.

True hippys only take psychedelics and do not abuse harmful drugs like alcohol and heroin.

It is sad that some people who were searching for something better than the sexist, racist, warmongering society the lived in, found only more tragedy. But for most, their lives changed for the better, and they changed the world for the better too.

  • How exactly did the hippies make the world "better"? They chose to let the communists overrun the South Vietnamese. Why exactly is it that our democrats (hippies) only seem to care about their own freedom, and to hell with anyone else's? WTF??

I remember greeting my dad at the San Francisco airport from his last tour in Vietnam, and when he walked through the gate, a bunch of hippies started screaming and throwing vegetables at us. Fuck them whacked out selfish pieces of shit!

  • @TheSkootertrash

I am sorry that happend too you. My dad was drafted into the army during Vietnam. He didnt want to go but did. He told me when he got back that the army made him change out of uniform so he would not be harmed by peace loving hippies.

It is a sad state when you cant wear the nation's uniform when you are in the nation.

  • @TheSkootertrash

Those people at the airport were not hippies...they were whacked out pieces of shit. You got it half right bro. The same whacked out POS that put up the NVA flag in Chicago at the convention. Those fucks were trouble makers glomming on to the scene....feeling empowered by confrontation. Thanks to your dad for serving...too bad so many kids never lived thier life because of that war that didnt solve much.

  • Comment removed

  • @TheSkootertrash

I agree it's not cool to throw anything, but I'd say vegetables are preferable to the grenades and bullets your Dad and friends had been throwing at Vietnamese men, women and children. ;)

How did they help make the world better? Is society as institutionally racist, sexist, homophobic, classist, prude and boring as it was in the 1950s? Would you rather black people still weren't allowed to vote and women were still effectively slaves to men? Actually, don't answer that!

  • @youyouyouwho

You are absolutely wrong.....The hippies in the 60's were drug abusers, they experimented with anything they could get their hands on. If you think the world is a better place because of hippie liberalism and progressiveness then you need your head examined.

  • @chutethebull68 - More jails! More cops! More money! More power! Praise the lord and pass the ammunition! Hate anybody that's not like you! Neoconservative Power! Change the laws to screw the working people! Money-power-clout! Cop-soldier-troop! Use up the world to make corporate profits! Yay!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @chutethebull68

Please read the other comments I just made. I must need my head examined, given that I like how black people are now allowed to vote and women aren't slaves any more! ;)

Do you drink alcohol? That's one of the most dangerous hard drugs there is. Up there with heroin and meth. Hope the death by liver disease doesn't hurt you too much, and please don't beat your wife too hard tonight! I'm pulling your leg because there's not much point reasoning with the unreasonable. ;)

  • @youyouyouwho pychedelics as in marijuana or LSD?

  • Comment removed

  • @youyouyouwho and others; You probably never tasted a good Whisk(e)y since you were a kid... Aahaha! (What you say about heroine is true although; that is just nazi-fascist medication they should sell freely again - 4$ a dose - to kill the killing bombing hero-maffia again.......). And all those hippies wasting their money buying grass, a bunch of cows... GL

  • @youyouyouwho you mean like that neurosoup idiot- hippy? Dopeheads are only at peace and feel good about themselves when they are high. such as sad, horrifyingly pathetic way to live even for californy

  • Comment removed

  • @atfatw

Well I don't know "that neurosoup girl" personally so I couldn't comment.

Aren't you an obnoxious soul! I'm not actually pro weed- it's good for deconstructing music but can become as habit-forming as alcohol, though it's safer at least. Native use of peyote and ayahuasca are good examples of responsible psychedelic use- in the West the use of LSD, psilocybin etc for psychological therapy, such as to successfully treat alcoholism. Unfortunately, prohibition ended all medicinal use.

  • @youyouyouwho you've no idea what you're talking about. "hard" drugs were a huge part of the hippie movement, as was alcohol. nice try though. better luck next time. wanna be hippie, hipster.

  • @capitalcontested

True hippies were and are against alcohol and all "consciousness constricting" drugs. Did Timothy Leary do heroin? They do yoga, read philosophy etc instead. They only believed in responsible occasional use of psychedelics to better themselves. Heroin was TABOO and anyone who took it was just adopting the fashion, but not the values. Sure there were a lot of people like that, but there's always been a lot of shallow people ready to hop onto the latest thing and ruin it!

  • @youyouyouwho *yawn*. you know simply saying something with conviction doesn't make it true, right? You can pick out little tidbits of what your deal hippie is, but it's not a remotley true reflection of the movement or even an accurate account of some of its defining members. there are always revisionist who want to go back and talk abou what the "real" blablabla: communist, christians, fascist, americans etc. represent when and where. but, it doesn't change the facts.

  • @youyouyouwho So true !

Great song, here, PEACE- live the Spirit, man !

  • @inkey2 Then why watch them???

  • Hippie girls was sooo HOT!! :D damn

  • Your still on the hook.

You ain't wiggling off that easy.

Hippie, hippy or however anyone wants to spell it was KILLED by Abbie and the other diggers that started it.

    Read the Wiki about it...

This fullabullshit site won't let me post you a link.

    Let it die...

  • @morebullshi Abbie Hoffman wasn't a digger he was a wanker who hated the diggers because they actually DID what he only spoke about.

  • @OrpheusIsThe1 Did you personally know him?

Who are you and have I ever heard of YOU?

Let the passed rest in peace, they can no longer defend themselves.

And straight from me, no punches pulled...fuck off.

  • @morebullshi You are acting like such a loser, just because someone else doesn't agree with you because they are telling the truth you have to get abusive towards them. No I didn't know him personally And Abbie never started it like I said he was a wanker By the same reasoning who the hell are you to comment on him anyway sad that you get your history from wiki Try reading Ringolevio the truth behind the REAL diggers. and what really went down not some second rate site like wiki Did you know him

  • Comment removed

  • Jeez. What a pairinoid screed. I think you've been watching too many slasher movies. Sounds like you need to step back, take time, and smell the puppies.

  • @HippieJimi fag

  • @sil3ntxsniper Dude....a fag?....Me...I'm married 31 years,....I'm far from gay...

  • Something wrong at 0:26: That guy is the french singer/songswritter Serge Gainsbourg. He was so far from the hippies way of life!

  • Love the reference to the ''Blue Bus''

  • this is much better than "Punk Rock Girl."

I'm sorry, but it just is.

  • I would love to know who did this song!

  • seriously who does this song?

  • Hippies are cool. :D

  • 1:43 George Harrison and Pattie Boyd??

  • yes noob

  • man i've always wanted to fuck a hippie chic

  • hahah me too

  • Hippy Chicks make LOVE not war. Nowhere does the work fuck come in to play. True Hippy Chicks don't exist anymore.

  • its the same fucking thing. calling it "Love" is just euphemism

  • its for the best hippie chicks were sour man hating hairy armpitted girls who on earth knew really what they liked and wanted least of all them.

  • atfatw - I don't know if you "were there", but I was a real long hair acid dropping pot smoking hippie, and the hippie girls I knew were wonderful and loving and caring and sweet...

  • BostonRocker, really I was only a kid but I sure would have gone. I rememeber even as a kid how horrible that decade was I would not want to live there again. I think hippie was merely a stop, another place in people's journey through life. communes maybe a good thing started in that time and a whole lot of hard work and re-orientaion of thought patterns and evaluation was needed to make them work.

  • yeah, maybe not in your world... they are out being free in the universe

  • i had two when i was young.

    saints they were.

  • when I see a hippie girl I go nuts. they have real bush

  • are you nuts?! the girl at 0:08 is beyond hot!

  • I'M with You !!" New Agers are insane too

  • Hate to disappoint. Not all of us killed ourselves then; not doing so now. Contrary to the pop saying, it IS possible to have been there AND remember it today. The greatest highs were the hope of the Civil Rights Movement, music, clothes, music, popular art & music. Oh yeah, CHEAP GASOLINE, too. The greatest lows--the human costs of the CRM, V-N, loved ones lost to war & drugs. It WAS a wild & crazy trip! If you weren't there, you can only IMAGINE what you missed. OH! Did I mention the music?

  • You can't 'splain it to them. They're too busy playing computer games to live. Take me back to the Armadillo... Austin 1971.

  • Take me back to the Dillo, the Vulcan, or Mother Earth. Austin was such a magical place 67-74.

  • Hey you were in Austin in 74?

Click my user name man...Know Moses?

  • Although I was young at that time, I used to love hanging out with some hippie friends that lived next to us in Anaheim, just listen to music. they never tried to "push" drugs or their lifestyle on me, and to this day I have never even tried any drugs. in a way I guess I am a hippie at heart in the sense that, live your own life the way you want, and let others do the same.

  • @gilgamesh1962

it does no one any good to lock up first time offenders in prison for 6 months and not let them out until they pay their $10,000 fine they owe society

  • @gilgamesh1962 You don't need drugs to be one :)

  • I LOVE HIPPIE CHICKS
