jlarrys: BLESS YOU for posting this...it will into my favorites. Perfect performance, wonderful wonderful singer. Sandy should have been side by side with Connie Francis....
Edna McGriff came out with it in 1952 and it was a huge success in an era not yet used to R & B. It was on a Jubilee label. Since then there were several "covers" the ones by Sandy Stewart and Florence Ballard singing lead for the Supremes are really good; however if you get to hear the original by Edna McGriff you'll see why it had such a success. Her voice was fantastic and made for that song.
wow, I only knew the supremes version. I didn't know that they did a cover of this song, i thought it was an unreleased track of thiers with Florence Ballard on lead. didn't know about this, its good.

A favorite when I was a kid. From the 1959 movie Go Johnny Go starring Sandy Stewart and Jimmy Clanton.

Quite a hoot! She's a sophisticated chanteuse now, singing beautifully with her son at the Oak Room of the Algonquin. But this is preposterous!
